This sound comes from the engines. At low speeds, the rotation of the shaft and the gearbox is very different, which is why such a sound arises. Airport officials often refer to the sound from the PW1000G engines as the sound of a whale.😁😁
We call it the whale song. Pratt calls it the eagle scream, but no one listens to them.
@@mld3pmtsu But the eagle scream is really not audible there.))
4:50 yeah the one time I was on an a22o I heard, I guess it's normal
@@chickenwing1898 this is 100% normal, but the sound is quite unusual)
The sound comes from the combustor.
Just seeing the first five seconds of the video make me realize that this is a very underrated channel
I guess that's a compliment? So thank you! :D
@@flywithdominik yep you aviation youtubers deserve more recognition
Also that sound, whenever I'm planespotting I always hear it, only on the a220s
You deserve more subscribers
Well, would be nice if... ;)
Love the editing style :) Didn't know AC flew the CSeries between the two airports - I routed through Montreal to catch it haha
Thanks! They just operated the first few flights after reintroducing this route with a CS300. Meanwhile they're operating it with a 737 MAX 8, I believe. :)
@@flywithdominik ahh, guess I did have to do the detour :/
The engine sound is normal thing, I've been on a220 at least 6 times, heard this sound all the time :]
4:52 it was the PW1000 spools up for takeoff
I like your sneaker shoes!
thanks!
THIS CHANNEL IS SO UNDERRATED
Air Canada looks good, the airplane is new.
Really awesome!
thanks!
Thankfully this video was recommended to me by RUclips algo 🤤 fantastic video! Will definitely follow your channel! Greetings from Germany 😊
Danke Tim! Grüße zurück nach Deutschland von einem Deutschen aus Rio de Janeiro, Brasilien! :) ✈️
Such an amazing aircraft
Took a return flight from Montreal to Toronto a few weeks ago on this beauty.
Awesome experience. Lots of comfort and legroom even for economy class
I love the smell (and look) of new planes! This was sort of like an international flight AND a transcon flight at the same time LOL! I was wondering how this could handle the range, but then I realized SFO to YYZ is under 3,700 km.

Erstmal liken, kommentieren, DANN erst schauen xD
Haha vielen lieben Dank dir! :D
In europe we also have free vaccinations in some airports
finally.
This aircraft should be selling like hotdogs hamburgers pitzzes etc etc looks like a a real winner 🏆.
Thanks for letting me know what air Canada’s service is like. I love the A223 aircraft. That sound happens on takeoff, engine startup, approach, and landing.
Very quiet cabin!!
amazing Airbus so beautiful
true
That sound is the engines braking
Swiss A220 has more passenger capacity and the legroom is way better, I'm kinda surprised that AC offers a little legroom in an A220 which is really known for having a big legroom
I think the legroom is because of the split seat pocket.
How can Swiss carry more passengers yet offer more room? That doesn't seem to make sense.
AC have prefered seats with more legroom
4:46 I think it sounds something like hydraulic pressure
thanks
Thanks for the video 😊. New subscriber here
Thank you! :)
@@flywithdominik you’re welcome
I'm in Europe, and we have free vaccinations too!
Me too, but not in an airport. Furthermore, the report was recorded in a time where vax appointments were kind of difficult to get in Europe. :)
Tbh I'm kinda surprised the passenger demand between cities as prominent as San Francisco and Toronto can be fulfilled by an A220. Great video as always though!
What day in June was this filmed? I flew from YYZ-SFO on the 17th of June and there was no drink service or snack service in economy. I’m assuming this is after the 17th if I’m not mistaken. Anyways great review!
It was about one week later as far as I remember
Great review. I have only had the 787-9 going to San Francisco from Toronto and the lie flat seat always comes in handy. I guess the A220 is not too bad if you do not have a choice.
Good job but you need to speak.
The writing is not always clear
Thanks! I'm actually speaking in the latest videos. :)
There was no snack served - pizza or sandwich - on a coast to coast flight. That's disapointing. No beer or a small bottle of wine ? That's poor.
Nope, just a few snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.
The plane is lovely, the flight nice, the service, for a renown flag carrier, is SHAMEFUL. You very definitely should've been served a complimentary hot meal. (I grew up in an Air Canada household in the 70's/80's. This airline used to be the best airline in North America. Now, it's just like any other airline, though maintenance and technical services are still first-rate.)
I agree. I'd have also expected a hot meal on such a long flight.
There should have been on-board cafe service on this flight with hot meals to purchase, it's possible service is still reduced due to COVID
You write Iberia on your description it needs to be air canada
Thanks! Fixed... :)
@@flywithdominik since Air Canada ordered A220s, Air Canada should order A319NEOs, A320NEOs, A321NEOs, A321LRs, A321XLRs, E190-E2s, and E195-E2s

How tall are you?
1,8m (or 6" I believe)
That sound is WAY worse on the Swissair A220-100.
787 > A220 from SFO to YYZ. Good review though.
thanks

What do you mean with take a look at that europe
It was kind of hard to get vaccined in Europe at the time when this trip report was recorded. It was way easier to get one in the USA as they also vaxed people like everywhere. :)
@@flywithdominik oh ok
