Let's see how many of the subscribers love W124 - C124 !!!
ABSOLUTELY! its classic, sturdy as hell, pleasure to work on this car
Thanks mate 👍
I’m not sure about this one. I would look around a bit more and you can always come back to it.
True 👍
It’s a good car but that one is priced a bit high. I had the same car and also had an ‘89 300SE, an ‘02 CL500 and now have an ‘05 and ‘04 CLK320. I wish I’d kept the 300CE because it is such a low-maintenance vehicle. It also rides very smoothly. Check for any rust and check the accuracy of the odometer! Also, that car has an aftermarket radio and exhaust.
Thanks mate, you are very right. 👍
I think you should choose C124 with M104 engine, it's more reliable. Otherwise, the C124 before 1993 year had chrome radiator grille, and it looks better for me. The car from video, not so good at all. And what about C126? It's the father of all Mercedes coupes for me :)
Yes my heart is with M104 :)
offer him $2000, he will know that it would sit in his lot a long time
He was not happy even with 4k offer 😕 neither me seeing all those issues.
I would avoid personally Max, too many issues and condition doesn't look great - looks to be hiding more issues too. I think you should get a C208 CLK or a R230 SL. Look forward to seeing what you buy!
I think finding a decent V8 W208 is much easier, you are right.
Yes - real world car😊
👍 Love to find a decent one :)
the coupe of the 124 chassis is brilliant.
but this car - I don't know
the k jetronic is not easy to handle, you mentioned the head gasket.
all in all a lot of work.
I would not buy this car, looking for a better w124 coupe
🙂
Yes, true, thanks
yes
👍
dollars, driver's on the right hand side, kilometeres = Aussie. 🙂 back to topic, i would not buy a coupe as a first choice. the doors are heavy, the frameless windows can be noisy, and the drag coefficient is worse than on 4door limo.
Very different perspective:) thanks.
Buy it...those engines are good for a million Klms
Yes, the problem was the paint and interior for this one, I can sort out engine issues. Thanks though.
That lifter tick on startup.... And 100 other problems. But this would still sell in my country for a small fortune, assuming it's not rusty.
👍
I think they normally start up with the lifters sounding like that! Mine did and I was told it’s normal (at least in cold weather).
@@TheJazzydrummer It's not a big deal if they tick only for short while. I would ignore it too. And changing lifters on M103 is relatively simple.
I would not. Buy really good one (and newer) that was kept in garage (rust issues otherwise), price is probably double than this, or even three times this (if it is gem with low mileage).
Thanks mate 👍
The W124 was made until 1995. You can’t go any newer than that unless you would settle for a W210
@the8419 Yes, I prefer 1992, and newer that comes with airbags for added safety.
@@BenzAddiction good idea. 93-95 are that best years, and with the updated engines.
@@the8419 👍 M104
in the end if you can get it cheap enough why not. What long term are you going to do, keep it or fix up and sell. They are hard to come by especially in a better condition. It would make great video content, but then any Mercedes would. Nah I think you could get a better one.
Thanks Allan, you are right, not a problem for me doing mechanical repairs but I like the body and paint to be in good condition.
It is cheap, but it is too old and there seem to be many problems that you see now. I would skip this one.
👍
Get one, but not THAT one. It looks like a well used example, with too much work/issues involved. Find a better car!
Thanks mate, 👍
Not for me.
👍
If you are asking someone else to buy a c124, you shouldn't buy it and you shouldn't make a video like this.
I believe in democracy, but I am not blind 😉
@@BenzAddiction In 1981, you come across a cheap 65 mustang and you ask your computer enthusiast friend if you should buy it.
I don't know the prices in your country.
Speaking for the my country I live in, if the mileage is correct and there is no rust in important places. It's a little more expensive than free.
@delifisektuxedo Thanks mate 👍
NOPE
👍
