    There’s nothing better than fresh M539 Restorations content in the morning. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Sreten so happy on-screen, but I’m loving every second of it. The engine looks magnificent and sounds even better. Also, seeing parts come out of the Vixen Aquablast cabinet never gets old, please keep those coming. It was a damn shame about that inner tie-rod having to be replaced. It ruined an otherwise good feel moment. Project Frankfurt sure is looking spiffy now that it has a new engine, let’s hope it moved along further at a quick pace. Big thanks to all the suppliers supporting all these magnificent projects, we all appreciate you. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season with your wife, Sreten, and stay safe. I wish you the very best in the coming year, and I can’t wait to see what new crazy projects you have in store for us. See you, my friend.

      Some items are worth the upgrade from the after market like the charge pipes. Aftermarket aluminum ones are deffinitely worth it as a "maintenance upgrade." Likewise with turbos. Or at least modified OEM turbos to fix the waste gate issues permanently.
      I have an 09 135i N54. I drive a bunch and its kickin around at 250k kilometers. Just good maintenance schedules and paying attention to the car makes the difference!

    • @ruskibruski

      @@FoxIRLVRturbos are too expensive I would only replace them after turbo failure and not replace them regularly

    • @MKRN98
      @MKRN98 Год назад

      @@ruskibruski imo I would go with single turbo, twice the price but no more issues like wastegate rattle. N54 OEM turbos are not known to last when it comes to wastegates. And you can go with smaller diameter turbo to have similar characteristics as OEM twin turbo setup. It will last forever that way. BTW, injectors for N54 are more expensive than the turbo anyway...

    • @MKRN98
      @MKRN98 Год назад +1

      @@FoxIRLVR oh man, we can go on with better aftermarket alternatives forever but main things that I can think of is silicone hose with billet fittings on both ends that runs over the radiator, it will never snap like original one. Also, aluminum expansion tank from Turner Motorsports. There's another company that makes similar ones too but they don't have coolant level sensor in them. That's a game changer and they have relief valve in the cap as all do with a hose routed to the ground so no worries about cooling system explosion of some sort. Aluminum power steering reservoir, billet valve cover and so on, can't recall what parts are also available at the moment. But putting everything aside - cleaning intake valves and installing oil catch can is the best thing you can do for your engine, I guess the cheapest and bringing good results in the long run

      I can absolutely attest to this statement. Watching these videos got me to remembering that I used to work on my own cars when I was younger, and that there's no reason I can't go back to doing it now. Just the simple things, like replacing headlight units, replacing alternators, and dropping new AC compressors in, but by god it's been fun. Maybe I can find myself an empty garage space to rent near me, then I could pick up a project car to fix up!

If I short circuit the battery terminals it wakes up but it keeps coming back. I tried checking the battery and it seems okay also changing the fuse box and the wheel speed sensors/TPMS antenna but no difference. Do I have to change every fuse and relay or do you know what it is? Any reply from anyone is good. I don’t want to go to the dealership because this started after going there for a recall. One tip for the next time you are trying to bleed the air out of the power steering system: bleed and fill until no more fluid is needed. Steer lock to lock for a few times. Shut off the engine for at least 20 minutes. The bubbles in the fluid will disappear and after a few more lock to locks the air will be gone.

    What can I say, exceptionally good work. The effort was rewarded with a clean running engine and a rich sound. I hope we can enjoy it soon on a test drive with you.
    Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a good start to the New Year

    In 2017, I bought a 2011 BMW M3 in the same color as yours. Mine had the competition package and was in near mint condition with 46000 miles. Like you, it was my dream car, and I loved every minute of owning it. Last year, l drove it less than 300 miles in total because I was 76 years old, and it was getting tougher to get in and out of it, so because Motorwerks BMW here in Minneapolis really, really wanted to buy it back, l sold it to them for $34000 (I paid $36000) with only 52000 miles on it and after driving it for 5 years. Watching your great video series made me really miss it.
    PS, they sold it 5 days later for $46,500!

    Both this video and the Part 6 were super educational❣ I never had the opportunity to learn about all the engine parts and how they integrate together beyond a brief middle school introduction. I'm keeping both of these videos for reference. I learned a lot!

    Hey man. New sub here. Dare I say it, but I'm not really a BMW guy, however, this series has been one of the best engine rebuilds I've ever seen. You're clean, methodical, and knowledgeable, and I've laughed out loud on several occasions. Looks like I'll be going through all of your videos! 🎉

    I would understand if someone thought that watching almost 90 minutes of a meticulous human messing with a BMW, sounds horrible. ..but to me it's massively satisfying to see things done the correct way. You even taking your time to clean where most people would have let the dirt stay. ..and the torque settings on every bolt. This is properly nerdy stuff. I don't even own a car, but i LOVE watching you work.
