Thank for watching
Really nice bikes these. My friend has the earlier version and I have serviced it for him. It is a dream to work on, very easy. Don't forget the motor will develop more power as the miles go on it and the motor loosens, so by the time it has a couple of thousand miles on the clock the performance will be noticeably improved. Also the very slight vibes at higher revs will smooth out too; although as you mention in the video Mr Fish, these are only slight. My friends earlier version now has 22,000 miles on it in 2.5yrs. No issues at all. It is his daily commute. I notice the new one on test has an easier engine to service than the older air cooled version. It looks as though the oil filter no longer requires the entire crankcase side cover to be removed to get to the oil filter. It's now just 3 bolts to get to it by the look of things. Please keep up the good work. Nice video and nice review. Thanks!
Hey Mr. this little 125 is amazing...they sell it under different names...here it is the Motron X Nord 125...great bike...i just bought it...i am 46, 188cm tall and i sit very comfortable...also great for the little trail through a forest to my house. Take care from switzerland
As the engine is derived from the Suzuki GS, as long as you keep up with the servicing, I think it'll be pretty much bulletproof.
I've fell in love with this little bike. Never owned a bike but I'm getting middle age crisis vibes so now saving up to do CBT and I am getting one of these! Every review I've watch, everyone seems to love this bike and I can see why. And if @Teapotone can do a 2500 mile tour around the UK on one then what more do you need to say!
just watched part 1 and 2 of that today crazy but cool
Sounds like we have similar thinking. I did my CBT on Saturday and had planned for a lexmoto LXR se but once that had been sold and I researched what to do I came back to the idea of the Sinnis. Sat on one today and it was great and I’m 6ft 4. Can’t wait to pick mine up and start to consolidate the learning. DAS then perhaps a CBR500 enroute to a GS but might skip the Honda and just go straight to an late 1150 or water 1200. Enjoy your journey
How did it go?
The engine come from zongshen 125.Big China company. Many factoring piaggio group engines Norton engines e.g.t
Check out riding from reality. They took a brace of Sinnis 125’s in the Mongol Rally had no issues apart from the expected wear and tear.
Appreciate the recommendation!
Nice review Mr F thank you. It's a nice looking little bike, I thought about one recently after completing my CBT, but the 1200 miles service intervals just didn't make it a financial viability for me, I do 1000 miles a month just to and from work. In the end I opted for an MT-125 and it's 3500 mile service intervals.
I can thoroughly concur and recommend any 125 for fun travelling anywhere though, (apart from motorways of course lol). I have already completed the majority of the North Coast 500 on my wee 125, (I live in the Highlands), the journey up and over Bealach-na-ba to Applecross was awesome. And the chat with the other bikers when touring round the Isle of Skye recently was awesome, especially when discussing the average 110+mpg. I've completed 2000 miles in just over a month so far, and still have a lot more exploring to do. 😃
That sounds pretty amazing.
I have been riding on one of these for the last couple of months. It becomes my son’s at the weekend when he turns 17 and swaps his Vespa 50cc. I don’t think he will be off it.
I have really enjoyed riding it around Stirlingshire as it’s really comfortable for my 6’2”
Great video.
That is awesome!
A VERY good video.
Surprisingly, I didn't get bored in 43:42.
Well done indeed.
I want one now.
Its the perfect solo camping bike, ready for 3 unplanned days away in new territory UP TO 100 Miles away, and that's a LOT of territory !
Yep.
I want one.
PS. New Subscriber.
.
Had mine 2yrs and 12500 miles covered with no grief. Its no gs but it is a great little bike.
how many miles have you been servicing it, regularly or letting the miles pile on before oil change etc the mileage seems to be very low for continuous servicing every couple of thousand.
@@BeanieBiker_AutisticRider oil change every thousand miles, filter cleaned every 1500mile,aftermarket cleanable air filter cleaned every 2000mile. I look after my bike and it looks after me in return.
Great video. As an older person considering dipping toes into the bike world, i found the video quite informative and your presentation of the bike interesting. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks
Looks like a mini version of the Ducati Multistrada . Nice review .
I'm all for a slow adventure, dine a lap of the uk on a hobda chaly clone last year. Been eyeing this bike up since before that trip and might have to bite the bullet. Thanks for the thorough first (ish) look
Thanks for showing us the front brake lockup :)
Really great review i have had a couple of sinnis bikes good bikes i am 70 in july after 50 years riding i sold my last bike 3 years ago .thinking of getting another motor bike this could be a contender. im not interested in speed just something to potter along on .i did Leicester to France on a 125 in a day no problem on my old sinnis bikes . not given up two wheels because i still have two ebikes.
I met a UK guy at a rally who had a holiday home in Spain. He rode between the UK his spanish property on his Honda CD185 right across Europe, no problem. Small can do it.
I had one of these between my CBT and direct access test (6 months ish). I'm over 6'4" and I absolutely loved it, only real issue was that the service interval was very short.
This is the comment I've been searching for! I'm of similar height and have struggled finding a 'big' 125 to learn on before full test. I've sat on one and felt good but have never ridden. CBT is on 13th August so will soon find out for sure!
Haha, snap. Also 6ft4 and have just bought one for the CBT to DAS bridge. Any must do upgrades for the leisure biker? Heated grips, hand guards or crucially decent tyres? Honestly the idea of the CST tyres and the, giving up mid roundabout terrifies me. How have they been as I’m currently planning to swap them out for Michelin or Metzeler ASAP. Would really like to hear your opinions
I'm 6'3 and prefer riding the wife's sh125 scoot than my (big? Comfy.?) new vstrom 1000 xt 🤷♂️🤷♂️ it's a pegs seat handlebar ratio even the big bikes are designed so smaller people can ride them, i had to put the tall seat on vstrom... Now screen is useless 😂😂😂🤷♂️
@@kristofbenki5048 Which moto you bought and found comfortable in the end please?
It's Chinese, I imagine it would wear out faster than a Japanese bike.
I have one of these. it is very good at most things. There is no ABS (what do you expect for under 3 grand!). The notched ring on the rear I believe is the speedo sensor.
The tyres are ok for most stuff. If they were any knobblier they would not be so good on road (which is what they will be used for in 95% of the time)
The PCX has abs under 3k
@@steve00alt70 yeah but that’s a shitty scooter 😂
What’s the top speed on them heard a few different things
Excellent review - thanks. All you need to know + humour. Looks as though top box WON'T take a full face helmet - correct? I'm a littlun - 5'7"" 8.5 stone - suitable for me, would you say? Ta.
I have the original DADDY of this bike and every other cinese copy😁
The original came from Spain in early 2000, but ever since, it has taken of in every corner of the world on license.
Along with the original, I think I wish to have the Sinnis as well and the 380 to go with it😊👌
Are you referring to the Derbi Terra Adventure 125?
🤣 !! "No abs in the front" 🤣 That was truly entertaining, brilliant 👍
Amazing price for this very good looking little thing...but 160 kg with 12hp 🤐
😂😂😂
160 kg for a 125 cc??? Its beyond insane. A KTM 690 Enduro weighs ~150 kg dry. A Honda Crf300 Rally weighs ~150 kgs wet…
Looks like a great commuter. Commuting is an adventure.
Had my eye on one of these when I did my CBT. Wish I had this review a couple of years ago.
I’m going to do my cbt soon do you reckon this would be a good bike cos o want to do some green laneing
@@louiestboi1803 it looks to be a solid bike in the class to do some green laneing. Doubly so as it is one of the only true "do it all" 125cc bikes out there.
I had a used 150cc crotch rocket China made while overseas and also rode a friend's 125cc and honestly 150cc is definitely the smallest I would recommend to buy.
Great review and I like your presentation style. I am now considering a Sinnis Terrain as the roads are so badly maintained here they may as well be tracks!
Great video/review mate 👍🏻
My sons currently looking at 125’s, I’ve sent him this video as he did mention he liked the look of the bike. Hopefully he’ll get one so I can have a go 😂
What about trying the MGB ATX 125 adventure motorcycle? How good would that one be? Anthony.
I ride one of these, it does my commute just fine
Yeh, typically combined brakes are implemented using the rear brake lever. On my CB125F that involves an extra linkage connected to a hydraulic piston which puts on the front brake with the rear (typically 80/20 R/F I think). Only way around it is to lock off the linkage somehow, but I've not looked into it enough.
i cant wait to get this for when i turn 17
Brilliant video once again! Would love to see the group doing a tour on this.
Did you hear about the couple that did the mongol rally on the previous edition of the bike?
What great value for money, really impressive, good review 👏
Excellent Motorcycles and you're very Good on the all new SINNIS🏍️🏍️🏍️ love to own such a fantastic Motorcycles
125,s are the best for touring taking your time no rush cause you can't, just a chill bike.i always go for the 125 and nice and light 👍
I actually really like that… I’ve got a vfr1200x, so the whole adventure thing is for me. Mmmmmmm can’t say I’m not tempted to add one of these just for cocking about when the 1200 is a bit OTT. Cheers Fish! 👍👍👍👍
I love your reviews on cheap and or small bikes
I have enjoyed this video and found it informative so thank you for that. I will be honest I am not the greatest fan of adventure bikes but I have found myself watching a few on this particular bike and I have started the think buying one might be on the cards at some point. If it is OK I also watched a 4 part review/green lane videos on this bike from usernamekate and to be honest it was pretty dam cool
Great video as usual, thanks for the great content.
I believe the ring on the back wheel that you thought was abs is probably, and dont quote me on this 😂, but i think it will be the speed sensor 👍
Yes, it's the speed sensor.
I like the bike, was thinking of one as a replacement for my Honda CBF125, just as a cheep commuter bike with a little off road (sometimes). can we have some more reviews of 125cc bikes, and the previous idea of "The Band" doing the NC500 on 125s gets my vote.
but only if other 125s can follow along.
What a great lookng bike. Very impressive for the money. Loved the skills with saving the front wheel lock up. Funny as f...
✊🐟
Really useful review - Thanks. Did you find out what the "hazard" light switch is for & do you know how easy is it to remove the luggage eg to carry it to a campsite?
It just wasn’t connected
Hmm... that rear brake has the encoder ring AND Hall sensor, so it must have at very least the sensing equipment for ABS, but clearly it's disabled at very least.
How many miles would you get on a full tank?...and doesnt it come in black?...im sure i seen a black one on yt?
Would love to get 1 of these to go travelling on
I would highly recommend doing so! My partner and I rode to Mongolia on a pair and they were just great
@@ridingfromreality287 thanks I will definitely get one ..
I used to love the Derbi Terra Adventure 125. This bike is interesting, but at 45kg heavier than the Honda CB125f, I think that's going to take it's toll on acceleration & fuel consumption.
Great video Mr Fish, was wondering if you’ve ever ridden a Himalayan?
Would be great to see your thoughts on one of these being as there low powered and good off road.
Always liked the look of the terrain.looks comfy
Do you think someone below 6ft would be able to ride? Im 5ft6 and like the idea of the adventure bike, especially one of these, look how kitted this one comes.
All I can say is try to find one to sit on
@@Mrfish2015 have you had a chance to use the Zontes Z125 U1? Also looks a good one
Cracking video, really useful and some not so useful info.
The bike 'looks' like a small Triumph Explorer?!
Cool little bike........"and for under 3 grand!!" 🤣
what helmet is that your using mr fish?
How's the braking system off road the rear brake works the front the new rules crap
Well done with the weight loss 👍🏼
What area are your lanes in Mr Fish.
The abs type ring on the back might be speedo pickup ??
how long does the tank last?
A 125cc makes sense from a licence point of view but a 300cc would be a real contender to the RE Himalayn.
Check out the Sinnis Terrain 380cc 👍
Where abouts are the off road lanes you used ?
Surrey hills
As they say in a lot of the (shite) Hollywood films "let's get the band together again". How about you, Bruce and Dickie Vegas doing the NC500 on 125 bikes. I'd bet Sinnis would let you have a T125 to do it on.
This bike is probably what I will replace my aging Honda with in the not too distant future, I had the previous version of it in mind before this was announced.
Cool do the boxes remove without tools?
Needs an Allen key but I think the toolkit is beneath the seat
Mr Fish is there a future review on the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 ?
seems a great little bike 😊
Nice. What's the luggage capacity ? 👍
Socks 😂 🤣🤣 🤣🤣🤣
What helmet is that?
very nice review! thanks
Thay is 125cc and worth under £3k? Wow, that’s a lot for the money. If i see this on the road, i would never think that it is 125, that is pretty good looking.
In your opinion what bike would you say is better the supercub or this sinnis , im looking for a winter commuter it needs to be cheap .
Well I own a cub …
@@Mrfish2015 I know and you have had some fun on that for sure . Hope your feeling better. I look forward to seeing more videos.
could that engine be tuned for a bit more power
No, most ecus on 4 stroke 125s are locked from factory. They're not restricted.
what helmet is that?? it'as nice :)
Maybe ya gotta have the engine running for Hazards ? , cheers Shane uk 🇬🇧
CBT on the 21st Sept and pick my sinnis Terrain up on the 27th Sept :) Question though, do i not need to keep it at under 40mph for 600 miles or is that nonsense ???
How did you get on? Definitely thinking of getting one when I pass my CBT
@@bevan24 it's an absolute joy, so easy to ride and the sit up position is a confidence builder. Any more info you need I can help mate.
Bit late now but that is just to run the engine in. Will pay dividends in the future
@@edwardfrench9925 I'm on 250 miles and still not gone over 40 mph mate, that the right thing to do ??
@@tonyf9076 hi Tony, I’m no expert but I have looked at the T125 manual online and there is no mention of how to treat the bike for the first few hundred miles but I have read that somewhere. Mechanical sympathy suggests what you are doing is great for engine health. It may be worth it, if you are that way inclined, to switch the oil and clean the filter as it will be carrying all the tiny particles from manufacture but these days engines are so well made it should be minimal. Buried on the internet is a guide to how BMWs used to be serviced. Before the days of cheap lease deals and aiming for super low fleet running costs…what happens after 100k doesn’t matter. All BMWs used to get a running in service at 1200miles but that is long gone. When I ran internal combustion engines for the family cars I used to change the oil and filters every 10k despite the manufacturer saying 16-18k. We sold the cars at 212k and 162k respectively with original turbos, engine and other components.
So back to the topic, if it were my bike, I’d consider a DIY (it’ll be very easy with minimal tools) oil and filter change, cost about £25 all in and gentle increase the rpm exposure. Another cheeky tip I’ve picked up is replace the oil sump plug with a magnetic one. Over time this will collect the harmful particles that could erode.
Away from the oil side of things, what has become apparent to me is wash and treat the bike to a heavy misting of ACF50 or the like. TMF has done several videos on it but in short time will make the difference between a bike easy to sell and one that has been neglected and is written off.
Are you enjoying the bike?
(Sorry for the essay)
wheres the tool kit on this???
Does it have a km/h mode on the dash aswell?
yes it does
@@LiquidSnakeSSJ4 Thats great, Thanks for answering
Is SYM NHT 125 close?
Better. Just no luggage.
I don't even walk up the hill to Coldharbour cricket pitch
Terrain 380 next.....
I like it 👌
I wish I had known about it before I bought my kawasaki 230
Aren't most bikes capable of being an Adventure bike? Loads of people go Round the World on bicycles, and seem to manage, so a 125cc should be more than capable. It's just a case of being aware of it's capabilities....
Very true,if I wanted a 125 to travel the world on I would buy a cheap Honda cg125 for £500, and use the leftover £2,500 towards the trip.
Not sure what Sinnis were thinking increasing the price on these to £3599
Because they have a new engine now which of course increases value... lol
Never heard of it. Maybe worth doing the walk around at the start. CB500X replica. Put a set of knobbie tyres on it.
No ABS means afordable
First again :-)
Ps: the bike looks great Mr Fish :-)
Ah, but not only is it red, it also comes with wheels and a seat!
It's a mini KLR650, ready for the zombie apocalypse !!!
I get that they are good value for money🤔but i personally can't get behind any products from China, given what they've done to the world😔
I really want to like that bike. Its one of the 125's I would consider.
But.
This really should be shaft drive. Take the engineering up a notch, remove the pain on chain/sprocket nonsense.
1200 Mile service intervals - sadly complete joke level, and destroy the fundamental 'cheap biking' idea. I'd like to know if this is because the engineering is crappy and it needs a shedload of oil changes, --- OR is the bike price so low, this is a loss leader so the dealers can earn a living. I'd understand that, but has to be a better way. :/
Any other 125 adventure bikes you'd consider?
@@Spaxcore they are old, and 125 not suited but dr125 from many moons ago
It's literally £20 to change the oil. That's not expensive or going to break the bank😂😂😂😂😂
These are now £3200+OTR
More now. But has newer engine.
They need to do something about that bird beak in the front. It sticks out WAY too far, and for no reason. (Unless your goal is to skewer pedestrians.) I don't think it's necessary to put all that luggage standard on a 125.
It will never be a varadero though will lets be honest.
No because the Terrain is better
