The ending is so sweet but sad 😭this is beautifully made and I love how Ash Is drawn LMFAO. I heavily relate to this song and this whole video made it seem like I'm not alone. The breakdown at the end is so cool. And the way it depicts how a guy loved this girl and she wasn't interested enough to keep their relationship (or friendship) going and she felt the need to cheat (lie etc.) This video really ties that all together. The line "for each correctly used apostrophe I could feel my heart sink inside my chest in front of me" has to be my favorite line from this song. It can be interpreted in so many ways but I think the main two I think of Is the girl writing a letter to the guy she liked, and It was so well-written that it showed her "love interest" that she really put effort into that letter and that showed how much she cared for the other guy and not him. The other is that she is sending a message to her love interest (the one she is cheating on) and it's so well typed as well and it makes him feel almost stupid? like shes trying to show him how smart she is. ANYWAYS ive typed too much LMAO but overall I love this song. I think it fits Wilbur's voice SO incredibly well. I like to think the line “for each correctly used apostrophe I could feel my heat sink inside my chest in front of me” as if they are messaging each other, and when a conversation is good/lively, you don’t bother with typing out as much punctuation (Such as apostrophes). But, as time goes on she loses interest, and sometimes super proper punctuation in a conversation can come off as just that, lost interest. But I know this isn’t the case for everyone. As you said, everyone interprets it differently and that’s the beauty of it. :)

According to Los campesinos! This song was about how one of the band members Gareth met a person at an event and they started talking about the t-shirt he had on. It was only at the end of the week he found out she had a boyfriend, so he was heartbroken. He finds out her boyfriend also likes the same band because in the photo they are together wearing the same t-shirt. I know this music video doesn’t actually show any of this but it does have the components. The start when he met her, the middle where he reflects and is heartbroken, and the end when he gets mad because he got feelings for someone who just liked the same band, and nothing else

There's a few unnoticeable details in both the video (animation) and LoveJoy's cover of the song. In the video, it portrays an experience of one of Los Camp's members which lead to the making of this song. (See the explanation of Knee Deep at ATP by Los Camp on Genius). Another is the part where Wilbur sings "Is 'You're the B-side'." If you have heard the original, it is different from the way Wilbur says/sings it: it is prolonged or like a record player scratching. This is possibly a subtle reference of like scratching or backturning a record (I don't know much about D-jying). But yeah, these details make this song more meaningful.

everything about this song has made me fall in love with it. from my understand, this is about realising your lover puts in more effort when speaking to other people. like they care more about other people. like you’ve just faded from being their favourite person while they’re still yours and they’re showing it but being subtle. you’ve caught on but are far too afraid to leave because you’ve grown attached. you try and forget that they’re loosing interest because it makes you anxious every time you think about them wanting to leave. you just wish things could stay the same but you know that’s not what they wish. it’s not their fault. is it..your own? There's a few unnoticeable details in both the video (animation) and LoveJoy's cover of the song.
In the video, it portrays an experience of one of Los Camp's members which lead to the making of this song. (See the explanation of Knee Deep at ATP by Los Camp on Genius).
Another is the part where Wilbur sings "Is 'You're the B-side'." If you have heard the original, it is different from the way Wilbur says/sings it: it is prolonged or like a record player scratching. This is possibly a subtle reference of like scratching or backturning a record (I don't know much about D-jying). But yeah, these details make this song more meaningful.
