- James Gunn released the first look at the Superman Suit played by David Corenswet. There have been a lot of mixed reactions, some who like it and some who don't. Regardless of our feelings, it definitely is a strange "first look" photo especially when you take in the photo background. It's also a big deal since the future of DC films hinges on this movie.

@@josephstalin9139 Who cares about bad reviews? Those movies were the most profitable DCEU movies and still are loved by general audiences. Also, that doesn't justify this horrible Superman suit.

If you guys Google Superman legacy and look at the casting you’ll see that Anthony Carrigan is casted as Metamorpho so I’m guessing that’s where the energy blast is coming from
I noticed everyone who likes the red truck gives good examples for why they should stay and everyone who doesn't just says it's stupid
Go to work or school wearing your underwear on the outside of your clothes. It is a staple in the comics, but does not translate well to live action.
Im not a fan of them because it feels outdated. I understand the original Idea is to feature them like "Circus Strongmen" but I just think that's a bygone era.
I really like the suit, but I think the image itself is garbage. They should've done something a lot more straightforward.
Ya no matter how I may feel about the intricacies of the suit, the pose and the background is bad. Even him standing or floating would have been just fine.
@@tyrellmultimedia He should've been flying in a cloud. Literally that alone would've been perfect. It'd show the suit, while also showcasing Gunn's idea of a more hopeful Superman.

Always wanted to see the new 52 suit with the kingdom come logo. Got really excited after seeing it the first time.
But lost all of the excitement after noticing the red diaper.

Damn i hate to say this coz i was really looking forwars to this movie but i agree with you. I dont even feel hope or inspired looking at this superman. I also agree with the custome design seeimg those unncessary lines but then a lot of detail can be ommitted given his pose with this picture.

Here’s the thing I feel like some people are overreacting to the suit being terrible. I like the suit I just don’t like how it was revealed. Like I expected a bad ass photo of him maybe posing in the sky with the light shinning on him but in this photo he looks like he just had a long day at work and doesn’t care about what’s going on in the background. Again the suit is fine it’s just the way the photo was taken is the real issue because it does look like fan art than a real official picture.
Totally on the fence here!...but i do agree this photo aint a good promo tactic..i still have high(yes! High!) hopes for gunns overall dcu... I hope this gets alot of criticism n that theyre SO LOUD that gunn n co. have no choice but to post a better n clearer one.. my main problem with this is...'is he wearing or not wearing..."🤔
I totally agree with you with the difference that I was waiting for this movie for so long not with much ecpectation but now I can’t feel nothin, the suit doesn’t inspire me and I’m so disappointed. David’s fisique is on point, the S is ok. But the suit to me is a NoNo. It looks too CW ( almost everybody agrees with this point ) or nowadays’ Marvel and that’s the worse part 😤 I don’t understand Why they Keep doin this 🤦🏻♂️

In your opinion, does the Superman suit not looking so great make you nervous for the costumes for other characters in the film, such as Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, and Mr. Terrfic?
In a way yes. I could only imagine that most of the prioritization was put into the Superman suit. And if that turns out mediocre what will the others look like...

I like the underpants, I do think he should age out of them in like the 3rd film or something, but I’m fine with them in the beginning
I really enjoy Superman with a shorter cape, from the looks of it he has a much longer cape than i would like, but i do appreciate the wrinkles. Doesn't really look like something his mom would make so i wonder what the origin for this suit is
I don't agree with a lot of what you said(about the suit, the background choices are weird af) but I really love your videos!! I agree with the suit looking too mcu, but disagree that cavills suit was the best. I don't like the shoulder/knee pads because I want superman's suit to look like it could be made by his mommy

Honestly, the suit just looks cheap. It reminds me of Tyler Hoechlin's first costume (the one from Supergirl), and that's NOT a good thing. The context of the image is also terrible. He looks completely uninterested and has an utter lack of urgency as Metropolis is pretty much being destroyed 😂. And people complained that Cavill's was "stoic" 😂. At least he was still saving people while he was doing it 😂. Just a terrible first look all around.
How can a “Superman fan” not be excited for this movie?!
As a Superman fan and/or a DC fan. There's many reasons for lack of excitement.

I like it but do not love it…I feel the blue could be just a tad bit brighter and the line work is too much for me. Love that the red trunks are back and while I prefer suits without a collar, I don’t mind it here.

I think alot of people will change their mind when they see the suit in action or in a brighter setting.
If he was standing or in some sort of action I think it would be much better.

I don't like the confusion or the poor nature in which the DCU seems to have kick started. Looking at the market for film and connected universes I don't think this is the right time for a DCU and I simply don't believe this movie is going to be in my demographic. And that's ok, it is what it is. I could also end up being very wrong.

James Gunn did Sasha Calle dirty by killing her character off in the flash so he can recast her as supergirl for the woman of tomorrow and he showed the same curtesy with Gal Gadot by shelving Wonder Woman three
Stripe is from New 52, dark blue colour is clearly copied from Zack Snyder's Superman's costume, I liked these two but otherwise rest is terrible and cheap. Trunk will make Superman goofy
Trunks are literally what made Superman in the first place and Zack's Superman was plenty goofy and try hard without the trunks.

Two things scare me about this photo. 1) The Gunn DCU is probably going to be an adaptation of the New 52/Rebirth. 2) Since it was designed by someone MCU, I think they will try to make the DCU be like the MCU. This is a big mistake since Marvel and DC are different when it comes to their characters and stories, one strategy won’t guarantee success for both studios
Thought this was supposed to be a Young Super Man dude looks the same age or older than Henry Cavill
Think of it like Matt Reeve's Batman, where the character has been around for a while (in-universe), but new enough to be inexperienced.

Horrible first image of Superman/Corenswet. Does WBD have a marketing department - this should have been blocked by them from release.
First off, Corenswet does not have the striking looks of Reeve or Cavill. He is good looking but not at their level. The first image should lift one up, not bring one down as this one does. The AI generated background looks amateurish. Yes, they are on a tight budget but a college kid good at AI could have done much better. The baggy suit and high collar are off-putting. The cape attachment looks awkward. Hoechlin's suit had that early on, but they dropped it as it was visually clunky.
There is not a lot of buzz for the film and to the extent this pic is getting a negative reception it will continue to dampen interest/buzz for Superman. There are hundreds of memes mocking the photo. FilmJunkee featured them the other day. Gunn has gone silent since it's release. What else can he do. WBD can't be happy but yet Gunn remains the head of DC Studios.
Finally, is Gunn zooming us? The complaint about Snyder was his Superman was morose/didn't smile and let thousands die in the fight with Zod. Well, this photo has a dour Superman taking his time to put on his boots as the city is being destroyed in the background. I don't get why WBD is allowing Gunn to make what looks to be a very mediocre film which will be a critical and box office failure. Some think they've given up on Superman and are letting Gunn do what he can. Investors have determined the film will fail financially and jeopardize the DCU so the stock drops to less than 8 dollars. This could be a career killer for Corenswet as Superman Returns was for Routh.

As you know I'm all for the DCU and what Gunn is doing and this suit reveal did nothing to change that. I think it looks awesome. Sure it's a different vibe and direction than DCEU suits and yes it might look a bit more MCUey I still think they are cooking with all of this

Seeing this Superman suit for Superman Legacy in my opinion feels like what would you see Superhero outfits in CW TV Show and I have a feeling that this Superman costume is made out of the same stuff as the Peacemaker suit that John Cena wears and the other costumes in The Suicide Squad (2021) which also looks cheap and had TV vibe on screen
I just want the movie to succeed so badly. I know that u said that dc should take time and only do the Batman movies and do a connected universe later but honestly I was never that big of a fan of synder take anyways. So when James Gunn anounced the things he anounced I was excited. Now if the Batman part 2 was gonna have dick Grayson as robin I would be willing to wait for a connected universe but since we don’t know if he will be in it, is why im excited for the dcu cause if Damian is robin that means dick Grayson more likely than not is already nightwing at this point. Robin/nightwing is one of my all time fav heroes. I’d say prolly 7th fav. Like I just Batman and Robin so badly it’s not even funny. And I’m pretty sure other people are hungry for robin. Cause I have a lot of friends who are as casual as u can get and they would ask me what’s ur problem with the live action Batman movies and I’ll say to them is Robin that’s my problem. And they would immediately “omg we haven’t had a proper Batman movie with robin”

@TMM you're gonna hate this movie no matter how good it will be received because your precious Zack Snyder is no longer a part of DC.
It's not life and death man. It's a damn costume for a movie. I'm not a fan of it. Is it so offensive to you that you need to try an insult me on my opinion by throwing shade at Snyder when it's not even about him at all? It's attitudes like this that are reasons why we have problems in the DC fanbase.
