Exactly. Probably one of the biggest problems outside of the fact that we're dealing with a studio who would rather make a Blue Beetle movie than a Justice League movie centered around a Darkseid threat.
It's like WB is McDonald's, but instead of wanting their burgers and fries to taste uniquely different than burger king's or Wendy's, they want theirs to taste EXACTLY like burger king and Wendy's. So why would I go to McDonald's if their food tastes exactly like burger king or Wendy's?
Im Hispanic (not Mexican) and this movie was trying way to hard to connect with Hispanic people that forgot that there’s more than just Mexico; it got to the point that me and my brother couldn’t even get jokes and references. It was pretty obnoxious to me and a little racist. No doubt people from different cultures were feeling like that movie wasn’t for them.
Representation IS stereotypes too WB execs, they always do this, everything about this movie screams it down to the core, like “let’s get most popular young Latino actor at time, and make George Lopez his elder…boom the Latinos will love it”🤦🏻♂️🤣🤣🤣
Oh Blue Beetle is a great character in comics. Ted and Jaime are both great because of how different they are. They offer two different perspectives too Blue Beetle.
The best part of this movie was the end credits. I love the vaporwave aesthetic of the end credits. It's actually one of my favorite end credits. But the movie itself... yeah it's the most generic movie ever.
They need to get their shit together, storytelling and casting wise because its super embarrassing when the films they make now over at WB and DC are getting outdone at the box office by MORBIUS.
Also people trying to spin that 100 million at the box office is successful for unknown characters. It's only "successful" because WB has made it a habit of make less than 300 million per movie.
@tyrellmultimedia Morbius was also an "unknown character" luckily they were smart and had a popular actor (Jared Leto) play the role and they got double what was budgeted back from the box office sales

If I’m being honest I think the number 1 reason y this movie failed is simply due to the fact that is why r we getting a blue beetle movie ? Wb hasn’t even established their main Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, flash, and green lantern yet and yet u expect us to care about a c lister like blue beetle ? That would be like imagining the mcu not establishing captain America, Thor, iron man, hulk before going into more unknown territory characters like guardians of the galaxy and antman
