Superman: "God damnit ! I just got home and the city is already falling apart. F*** ! "
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Am I crazy why is this such a big deal from what I see dude is literally readjusting after losing a fight in metropolic he’s probably in Lois Lanes Apartment.
I truly don’t get the big deal
Goku and vegeta are fighting in the background and superman clearly wants nothing to do with it.
“Ahh let the boys fight! They’ll get it out of them and settle down soon.”
Exactly.
It's amazing that Supes can take both of those clowns at the same with ease even in their latest Super Saiyan form.
@@Gideon13397nobody cares. please let's not start that whole debate again. It's getting old
@@Gideon13397 Nah. Superman's not even a trained martial artist or anything approaching godly domain, just a farm boy who punches hard
He's Like "I Ain't Going Back our There" 😂😂😂
Fr, homie so hungover he wore his underwear on the outside.
Lmao
😂😂😂 not he so drunk he wore his underwear on the outside lol
Lmao he’s got that look like “I just cleaned up this mess couldn’t you keep it clean for 10 MINUTES??”
I understood that reference-
@@The95th Same 😂 😂.
Likewise.
@@The95thI understood THAT reference
@@uzumaki5277I also understood that reference
The pic looks like it was originally a defeated Batman taking off (or putting on) his boots with the Bat-signal in the background but you asked AI to changed it to a Superman theme. 😆
Why does every 21st century live-action Superman suit have to be textured like a goddamn basketball?
Star Trek did the same thing with the cinematic uniforms.
To me it means more effort is being put into visual details than the writing.
Probably because now all of our cameras are in high definition. So just having a plain solid uniform color that exists by itself is really boring. So because the cameras can see all these details they want to maximize the amount of detailing you can see.
This the “not today Superman”😂😂😂😂
🤣
Superman oh God not today.
"I got Lois in the Bed...."
LOLOL!!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Promotional wise it was a bad picture to put out. Narrative wise? This is the most human we’ve seen Superman look in years😭
Agree
He looks disniterested and tired.
@@mutalemwananshiku4098 He looks like this kind of thing happens to him every Tuesday and he knows the drill. If he looks tired, great. He should be if he's been doing it for some time
Disagree, he looks like saving people's lives is an obligatory chore he has to do rather than something he wants to do.
@@warhammerguyWhich is exactly the point. It IS a human reaction. It's like being a parent and after 3 months of waking up at 3 am to sooth your crying baby. You're going to be tired, but you STILL drag yourself out of the bed and take care of the child. It's your responsibility, but ultimately you do it because you love your child. The fact he does it even when he's not feeling it is what makes him a hero.
I'll reserve judgement till I see it in action. These early pictures rarely do it justice
Same
Yup this is a failed marketing campaign for sure 😊
I know but the picture was supposed to get us all hyped..smh..the suit is cool, as long as the cape is long, then I'll be happy. It's just a strange picture. If they showed metropolis at night with no action, then the picture would make sense.
MOS first look pic was amazing
@@anakinSkyhopper91 really? I didn’t think so….
"Help! Save us Superman!"
"Fiiine. Let me put my boots on. 🙄"
EXACTLY 🤣🤣🤣🤣
its not a still shot of the movie, its a behind the scenes photo of the suit with an ambiguous background to raise questions
@@jjeteuati264 No, you tried! No one said it was a still shot of the movie.
@@NoirNameless comprehend before you comment.
@@AnointedFlowYou right, you right. I fucked up 😂
Superman said, " You motha' f***as go save Martha..."
They should have had him standing and looking out of the window with his back turned to us. That would have been safer. It would have kept us guessing about his facial expression and would have given us a sense of vigilance. And it would have given us some mystery as what the suit will end up looking like and would give them time to make any last-minute changes. In this picture, I am not sure if he even knows the threat is in the sky, or is he bummed out after a bad day and realizes he has to go back to work. I also cannot imagine too many are excited about how the suit looks.
Or just the iconic ripping off the buttonshirt, then a S*
pause!
Him in the pose of that iconic All Star Superman cover would’ve been perfect and set the tone for the movie. This is the complete opposite of that. Dark colors, hunched over Superman, etc.
Everyone who is hating on this Superman hated on Zach Snyder’s Superman at the very beginning as well, to be honest 95% of people have no idea what they’re talking about when it comes to film. Do I know it’ll be good? Nope.. But at least I’m willing to give it a fair shot and not base my opinion based on X reactions.
@@user-yg1jd6dt1bI was hating on The Batman when it was first revealed. If (hopefully when) the movies good, we’ll all come around
@@cyatram all you can do is give it a shot and hope for the best.
Superman: well that was a tough battle. Let's get this suit off.
(Brainiac attacks)
Superman: OH FOR GODS SAKE!!😡😡😡
THIS! Hahahahaha!
😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Superman couldn't catch a break
Suit looks good but I'll admit in this photo Superman does look like he's thinking "Fine! Guess I'll move the moon in front of the sun again!"😂
I swear to god if this movie ends with superman literally handing his cape off to someone else WB is getting a orbital tactical strike from me.
That's the entire point of this movie, mark my words. It will be a much more diverse Super-Person.
"Legacy", by definition, is something that is passed on and that will be the entire point of this guy being in the movie.
I didn't know Gunn wanted to make another Hancock movie with a white guy.
That pic looks like Superman is about to drop the hottest mixtape of 2024.
Just needs a cuban link chain and hes golden
“I haven’t even had a chance to clean this suit”
it looks like the kinda suit his mom would have sewn which is actually how he got his first suit canonically. I like it
The reveal photo should have been bright and hopeful. It should have had Clark either flying through the sky, hovering in the sunlight, or even resting at his earth parents farm.
He should have had a warm smile, and the costume should have been simple. With simple textures, simple fabrics, and no collar. The costume should have been sewn by Ma Kent, and he should have worn it proudly because it was stitched with love. That paints a much more wholesome uplifting picture than the moody one they used… why promote the photo with a dark/empty shot of a grumpy Superman casually suiting up while the world is under attack behind him? Crazy.
To me, it feels like it's a picture from the opening montage of what it's like to be Superman on a daily basis. It shows that no matter how exhausted he gets, he will always slap on that uniform and save the day
@dwayneadamsworld
thanks for understanding it rather than others who are just complaining
Not everyone’s minds are this open unfortunately. They lack imagination
That's why there's so many Superheroes in the movie 'cos Superman's off the clock 😂😂😂
I think that's also why the costume looks low quality because they have to make suits for all the other heroes in the movie
@@sirvictorgreenblade9469 soooooo they're broke? U make no sense
Justice League 2.0.
Superman: “I’m not even supposed to be here today!”
He’s like, “I don’t get paid enough to do this.”
Superman needs a bodyguard to go handle this
The Garfield got me 🤣🤣🤣
James Gunn finally gave everyone what we wanted to see.
Superman getting dressed
I mean, now that I think about it, I don’t remember the last time ive actually seen him put the costume on, like physically.
Part of thinks this pic might be a part of a slightly comedic montage of Clark in his apartment having to always leave because world ending stuff is going down outside&he has to go deal with it(same supes putting his suit on while different threats are going on through his window)like it's the daily grind for him. This is a Superman who's been around(Legacy)
He looks like he’s being asked to save the person who keeps eating his food leftovers out of the fridge.
Why are people expecting him to look super excited while he’s changing his shoes? 😊 👞👞
Right??
Superman has super speed but is taking his sweet time while the city is being destroyed. I loved MoS, but this looks like it fits that universe so why not keep Cavil?
I don't mind the suit. I do love how he looks like he was called on his day off because he's the only person who has the backup keys to open to office.
I don’t like how loose fitting it seems but I have faith in James Gunn
You guys absolutely crushed this video, I was cracking up the whole time🤣
Im neutral with the suit i like the MOS suit more but Did people forget that Martha Kent made the Suit.
she doesn’t always make it. in the new 52 for example it was Krytonian armor
@@rhashadcarter2051 I think for this movie the suit for now is gonna be home made by Martha Kent. Maybe later on in the franchise he'll get his own Kryptonian armor if the DCU succeeds anyways.
I miss the quiet dignity of Superman jumping into a phone booth and getting dressed in it.
I miss phone booths
In the amount of time itd take him to find a phone booth in 2025, the villain wouldve killed 20 people and got away.
7:01 🤣Now I can't unsee that 'S'!
James Gunn stated before that he was using Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely's All-Star Superman as a partial basis for this film. Morrison has a method in his writing where he sketches up concepts for his artists to go by when drawing up his scripts. Quitely did a now-classic cover image of Superman leisurely sitting on a cloud looking over his shoulder at the audience for the All-Star Supereman comic. When he came up with that image for the artist to draw, he said he was inspired by a cosplayer at a comic convention who was dressed up as the character and was sitting around nonchalantly as if he didn't have a care in the world. Morrison said that after talking to the guy, he thought that someone as powerful as Superman would be a bit more casual instead of striking a heroic pose all of the time, so that was the inspiration for the first issue's cover. He wanted to convey the MAN in the Superman, so to speak, by showing him more as a regular guy, in spite of all of the SUPER about him.
I'm guessing that man and superman theme is something that Gunn's going for in this pic. The idea for as SUPER as he is, he's still just a man and not a god nor as infallable as many think he is. Notice the burned scorched marks on his chest, symbol, and arm, as if he'd just returned home from some huge battle or saving people from some huge fire. In my mind I thought of him getting ready to watch some shit on Max for the evening then get up in the morning to go to work at the Daily Planet, UNTIL that big thing in the sky in the background over Metropolis hit and he says, "Sigh!...looks like ANOTHER job for Superman!!!" Hahahahahaa! As much as Superman would want some down time to take it easy for the night, like a cop or a doctor, Superman can and will always be needed at a moment's notice, so I could see how something like that could get to a man, even a man of steel. I'm looking forward to this one.
I'm kind of sick of this whole angry god motif that WB has been chasing with the character for awhile now. Time to get back to the man in the Superman.
PS
A friend of mine in the comic biz thinks that thing in the background blasting at Metropolis is an artificial intelligence sun villain called Solaris from the comics. In All-Star Superman, Solaris came into play and was a pivotal part of that story. Not thinking Gunn will totally adapt that story, but he may be culling elements of it and if that thing's in the flick, maybe we'll see it doing what it did (with Lex Luthor) in the comic. As anything else, it's all a wait and see. Just gotta make sure I live to see it, so I'm about to go bubblewrap my ass and freeze myself to thaw out next summer to go check it out. :D
True. Also Metropolis gets destroyed like every week, so thatd probably kill the novelty for him. Especially if this is an older Superman.
@@cyatramabsolutely
@@cyatram I recall Gunn saying that this Superman was near the beginning of his time operating as Superman and in his first time out working at the Daily Planet, so it’s early on in his career as both personas, and it’s not an origin story. Still, even by that point he’s likely got a been there/done that attitude…until he faces off against someone or something that he’s not ready for, maybe. 😁😎✌🏼
Finally someone who knows at least some comicbook material instead of trashing everything DCU related.
@@Gideon13397 speaking only for myself, I’m admittedly not a fan of the DCEU movies that came previously, and have been known to clown around about them, BUT I’m a fan of comics and had always loved both DC and Marvel so I’m not one of those fans who feels the need to pick a side and troll. However I do also say that I’ve always been a huge DC fan and just want better quality films and tv adapted to the screen. Yet I’m far more a fan of the original source material, the COMICS, and if a film or tv series doesn’t gel with me? Hey! At least I still have my vast collection. I’m also an artist and writer, so I’ve got a specific interest in those aspects of the medium, in general.
Theyre already using it for memes 😂
The suit gives me race car vibes a little bit.
Superman look like he just got done with a battle with Kendrick Lamar .
Now Superman Has To Battle With Drake
If they gave us what we expected, there’ll be nothing to talk about.
This Superman looks like he says "Fuuuuuck" to himself when he realizes Metropolis is on its 600th bank robbery or superhuman terrorist attack
I somehow think this pic is a still image of him getting dressed which we always see as a blur.
James Gunn being James Gunn he shows you a picture of Supes sliding his boots on.
A depiction of something we really never seen him do in all his years.
Superman: "Can I have just atleast 5 min without Metropolis falling appart!!!
Citizens: 'Yes You Can, Superman'
Personally, I like it. The New 52 inspired look, the Kingdom Come logo, and most importantly, the red trunks are back. It kinda reminds me of the suit from that My Adventures with Superman show.
P.S. Also, for the people complaining, yeah I know that pic isn’t great, but would you rather have it be entirely made of CGI and not an actual costume and then it ends up looking uncanny because they rushed it out to meet a deadline and the VFX Crew were overworked as it was? *looks at current MCU CGI and lack of real costumes*
There's going to be cgi on the suit anyways dude, captain America's suit, deadpools, spidermans(all of them) have had cgi implements on it
Most mcu suits are practical though. i have also seen that same comment before on twitter.
@@thebonk7138 True, but I’m talking about the ones where they wear those grey or black suits 90 percent of the time.
Yeah and I can see that the new upcoming superman movie is going to be inspired by the very successful and great My Adventures with Superman series
@@comixproviderftw_02 mostly for really action heavy shots, believe me I've looked into this shit. Hell this superman might be doing shit in those suits as well
The costume looks like a "costume", but Gunn does that intentionally with characters like the Peacemaker and the Poke A Dot Man; he intentionally makes the costumes look like cosplay costumes in order to make them feel silly and yet very human. Rather than make colorful superhero costumes more grounded he goes more campy, yet treats the characters with a lot of sincerity which is his style.
A guy that never gets tired at what ever he's doing, now thats a superpower.
This needs to have it's own identity. Everybody wants it to be like the other films and older comics but many comic book adaptations and other properties have come after the first film adaptation. Time for something fresh and new instead of copy paste Superman. We know he's already going to be reluctant to be Superman the first half of the film according to Gunn. Let's not judge too quickly.
It’s just a picture thrown together. The point is to show us the suit.
I think it looks cool, I wasn't really expecting a 1980s superman suit, what's most important is that he acts like how superman should. I think the actor looks perfect for the role, and they even included the red shorts.
Homelander put a S on his chest! Lol 😆
Lol he's getting undressed like " Call Shazam im off the clock."
James Gunn is showing that Superman puts his boots on one at a time like everyone else.
And let's not forget this Superman has doing this for some for couple of yrs now. He is not fresh on the scene like Zach Snyder's Superman. What I see is getting back to business. I mean who smile while that put on their shoes to go to work rather you like it or not.
This video needs to be labelled "The Roast of Jame's Gunn's Superman"
This how I look getting dressed for work 😂😂
Does anyone else think the suit looks like it's made out of Denim?
Now that you mention it i think it does.
Suit is made of old basketballs
Lol
*Lasers*
Superman "Aight. Imma head out"
🤣
This photo reminds me of the teaser trailer for The Incredibles. You see a vulnerable Superman here.
Yes I can totally see it of a Superman teaser trailer
Getting Amazing Spiderman 1 vibes from this costume reveal. Why use a battle-damaged version that’s still hiding a lot of details in the image that’s supposed to show it off?
I don't get the hate for the suit, I think the suit looks awesome. The suit is clearly paying homage to both the classic and one of his more updated suits from the comics.
You don’t? It’s a low energy reveal shot where the suit looks awkward on his body in that position, he himself looks uninterested, very very odd pic to finally show off the suit
It looks like something you'd make for Comic-con, that's why 😂
I've seen cosplayers with BETTER suits than this shit
I think the issue is the picture overall where he looks disinterested and its behing a dark background.
@@thebonk7138 Me too, lol.
Nice to see James kept Goku and Vegeta fight in the background
Man that suit clean as hell bruh, im not even a Superman fan like that. He looks like hes about suit up and beat somebody ass. I got a feeling that boi is gonna kill it as Superman and Clark Kent. I never in my life defended and had Superman's back this much never. Yall need to get over that Henry Cavil mess
I agree, the suit looks good and the actor looks good as the character, I think the reason why some fans are giving this a hard time is because it's not Henry Cavil.
Man that picture dookie..this is a suppose to be a presentation to get the fans hype
Bruh how old is u bruh. This mane really said dookie. Your choice of words is dookie. Work on your comebacks big dawg😂😂😂. Who's says dookie
@@RodrequezRobinson2001 you fanboying bro..relax💩
At first I was mixed but know I’m kinda feeling it. Superman look tired as a mf he’s about to beat the hell out of that orbit in the sky he just got to shake it off a little 😂😂💯
It looks like an actual "uniform". I am tired of the CGI painted-on suits. But let's reserve final judgment until we see it in a trailer.
I love the jokes here, but one thing needs to be said: Korey said "We're looking for the Christopher Reeve Superman". That's just it: this isn't his Superman. In fact, I think that people can't move past his version. That's why Superman Returns was cast with & centered around continuing that version instead of rebooting & letting Routh do his own thing. Then Man of Steel "overcorrected" & in one way, it was good that Cavill & Snyder weren't trying to emulate Reeve & Donner. But Snyder & David Goyer went a little too far off course. The best non-Reeve Superman adaptations are the ones that take from the source & aren't beholden to one version or trying to distance itself so far from said iteration. Look at "Superman: The Animated Series" & "Superman & Lois". Sure, they mean that they want that optimistic & bright Superman, but I think it comes more from them growing up with Reeve & a whole lot of people being unwilling to say "That version had its time" or well-versed enough in the comics to realize that the character has had different versions.
Superman should portray the undying optimism of someone facing the most insurmountable of situations. Even the strongest man on Earth can't fix everything, but he's going to try. And he knows thats the true victory is that people dont lose hope. Call him corny or whatever but hes the most super hero of superheros. Superman!
Reckon an apartment with that view’s got to be at least $5000 a month
Faster than a speeding bullet... when he wants to be 😂
The reluctant superman!
I bet Henry is laughing his ass off at this!
Of course he is
Superman putting his two weeks notice in.
Son-of-a-GUNN! It's SuperMEH.
It's too early to judge what is actually going on. It's possible that James Gunn chose to release the depressed looking Superman photo on purpose. My theory is the darkened color suit we see in the photo is not the actual suit. Perhaps Superman starts the film less optimistic but then he has a big character development moment that converts him to the boy scout. This likely unfolds in the second act. Superman reappears in a brightly colored suit more faithful to Christropher Reeve's costume colors. Gunn is keeping the actual suit hidden so that he gets a big reaction from fans in the theatre when it is revealed. I hope this is case because if it is not, it will be another depressed take on Superman which no one is looking forward to. Gunn promised a return to hope and optimism. He cannot afford to be viewed as a liar. If this movie is a flop his DCEU will be dead before it can get off the ground.
What i get out of this is that superman is rich as fuck. Look at that loft, looks straight outta booty talk!
His dad stashed some Kryptocurrency in his baby pod, and he cashed it out when it was at an all-time high.
I mean why wouldn’t he be rich? Man can make more money than Batman but chooses not to.
As always i reserve judgment until i see the suit in the movie
It almost looks like he has shoulder pads
"he look like an ad for better health" made me lol😂
Music in the background playing Dolly Parton working nine to five 🤣🤣🤣
Me personally, I think the only gripes I have with the suit is that it goes up his neck, kinda like the New 52 design, which i was never too fond of, and that it doesn’t look as form fitting. I like that we're getting the red trunks and the yellow belt. Got that S curl in the hair. I’m kinda with y’all in the sense that I kinda wish the suit reveal was something a bit more grand than him post (or pre) battle. The lighting and the fact it looks like an on-set production still just makes it feel less... grand to me. But then again, I push back a little on that too, that this tells me that the movie will get into his "human" side a bit more, despite all the fantastical things going on both inside and around him. I guess for a suit reveal, I was expecting something a little more Super, and a little less man, if that makes any sense. Considering we’re coming off an iteration that was very moody and mopey, it’s odd that the first reveal for the new iteration…. is something moody and mopey, considering Gunn has been open about the more hopeful and optimistic versions that he’s taking inspiration from. Still, the design of the suit is totally fine with me, outside the turtle-neck style. Regardless, I'm still looking very much forward to this flick.
For next video: Mamma Mia (2008), The Ten Commandments (1956)
Personally, with zero investment in comics and comic book movies, I think the design looks great and definitely has me interested.
I like the picture. It conveys a working class hero mood I can definitely relate to. Too bad this picture wasn’t just for people like me, I guess.
Problem is is that we've come off already with a decade of a Moody grumpy Superman so having that be the tone in mood was a giant misfire.
The lightning in the background from the event shows that the the picture was taken at about 7000 frames per second. That's how long it took him to put on his second boot.
I'm a Superman fan. Brandon Routh/Bryan Singer Superman Returns movie was the return of Christopher Reeve's Superman (Post Richard Donner). Nostalgia goggles don't help your argument. Despite what you think/feel, how did Superman 2, 3, 4, and Returns do financially?
If you were outraged by the collateral damage in Man Of Steel, looks like ur gonna have a terrible time with this one too lol
If you had a hard day of fighting crime in Metropolis, got home, Lois has got on that fine lingerie and already has something in the oven and you're like 'phew, I can take the rest of the night off' and then like a QUANTUM SINGULARITY OPENS UP OUTSIDE YOUR WINDOW just as you're about to take off your boot and you're like 'F*CK. AGAIN? ON A TUESDAY? I AIN'T EVEN CLOSE TO THE WEEKEND, HOLD UP.' you'd look like you were straight out of a Better Help ad too!
...why the hell is your concept of Clark's home life is like a bad version of the 1950s?
The zack snyder suit looks way fucking better. People can hate on Zack but his cinematography was on point.
I don't hate on Zack,I thought Man of Steel was-GREAT-his JL movie was well done, this also includes Superman-vs-Batman. IMHO
I think the suit looks fine. I am patiently waiting for the trailer.
My pocket took the most unflattering screenshots of Korey 😅
This movie will be totally guardians vibe.action ,jokes and rock soundtrack.
I personally like the SUPERMAN - SUIT
Superman thinking: lois about to call me her doomsday once I'm done tearing up them cheeks
As a first impression, it's giving sadboi...but I'll trust the process.
People bitching about a test shoot still, just WAIT for the actual movie or at least a trailer, damn. 😒
Doesnt excuse he should have used a better picture still.
I was feeling down and then you showed that scene of Reeve as Superman at the end of the video and I feel a little better. Thanks for that!
I think I'll wait for more photos and footage. Im not mad, but I'm not going crazy. Just patient to see what's next.
Think it’s kinda funny cuz what I got from his expression, he’s just used to this bs and it’s just work to him. Like he just took care of something and now there’s this. He’ll do it but the most damage he’ll get is on his suit, he got nothing to worry about. Well if u ignore the people dying. And the suit looks good… that’s it, it looks good. It is weird he doesn’t look like the traditional Superman Gunn wanted but this could be a low point for him
Or he’s just frustrated cuz he has to hurry but his suit is difficult to put on
I think folks just love to find something to hate on.
This looks like a swerve photo. They want people to think negatively and surprise us with the trailer. We'll see.
As opposed to what? Making people think positively and then surprising us with a trailer?
Imagine James Gunn finding this channel and listening to y'all's comments. I guarantee he'd lose his shyt from laughing so hard😂😂
14:38- And see, this is the problem. When people say 'We're just looking for Christopher Reeve,' this is why Superman can't evolve because people want to stay stuck in 1978. Look at Tyler Hoechlin on Superman and Lois. That's a hopeful Superman with serious elements and he doesn't try to imitate Reeve. Was Reeve great as Superman? Yes, but it's time to move on and try to accept a Superman who does more than just smile and save cats from trees.
