Ingredients and quantity for Vaalai Meen Kulambu | Meen Kuzhambu | வாலை மீன் தித்திப்பு | Vaala Meen Thithippu | Meen Kulambu :-
Ingredients for Making Paste :-
Oil - 2 tsp
Chopped Onion - 200 gm
Chopped Ginger - 20 gm
Green Chilli - 5 - 6 no
Chopped Coconut - 200 gm
Ingredients For tempering :-
Ribbon Fish - 300 gm
Oil - 2 tbsp
Mustard - 1 tsp
Curry Leaf - 1-2 sprig
Garlic - 50 gm
Chopped Tomato - 30 gm
Water - 100 ml
Turmeric Powder - 2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Coriander Leaf - to garnish

Nice. In Ramnad we call it as meen thengaipaal kuzhambu. We will extract coconut milk and prepare it. Will not add garlic. Tastes delicious with hot rice. My grandma’s recipe. Thanks for bringing back good old memories.

Clean, cut and wash the fish well. Store it in the airtight container and store in the freezer compartment. If the temperature ( -18 to -23 degree Celsius ) is maintained well, you can store it for 6 months. All you need to do is remove the required quantity of frozen fish, the previous day and place in the Chiller compartment of the refrigerator. That's it.

Yengada irruntha rasaa ivlo nalla!! I have tasted this gravy when was a kid atleast 15 -17 years back- our neighbour cook this dish and share with us. This gravy tastes really tastes good when eaten with steaming hot rice!! You brought back some of my child hood memories. Feeling nostalgic!! Thank You.. God Bless You and forgot to mention..
