Rasavangi is the name for "Kathirikkai". Kathirikkai cut into 8 cubes. It is cooked in tamarind juice with a paste of 50% raw coconut and 50% roasted coconut with red chilli, corriender, fenugreek seeds, channa dal and pepper and cumin. This paste is added to the Tamarind liquied and brinjal. But the brinjal should not break. The taste is brinjal hold the soicy juices. But today it's cooked in many ways.

Vangi means Brinjal . We can use Brinjal My mother s Rasavangi no one can beat. We do not use dal. But this is different . We can also try this method.

It Is Samber what is the difference ...
Rasavangi is a close cousin of sambhar which also originated in maharashtra . The few differences in ground spices and less use of dal in this dish makes it light for festive days when we don’t use onion or garlic or tomato in cooking .
