Cats are just like real Hollywood actors; they show up when and where they want to and feel like it, and when they do, they want center stage & all the attention.
Just thought I let you know: I've just checked my Stgw90 I got from the army and the PE90 I bought a couple of months ago and neither of them have this internal threading you were talking about at 14:00 (yes, I live in Switzerland). Seems like the internal threading was only done to the Stgw07 (SG553) etc. and maybe SG551.
Thank you, that goes with what I've learned too. The 551SB and 551LB have it, as does the 553LB/STGW04/07. I did get a modern 550 "conversion kit" that had it, but all of the complete firearms I've had did not. So probably something added later for suppressors or other devices.
As far as i know the gp90 also has higher quality powder that burns much faster than normal nato rounds. Thus the gp90 also has much better performance when used in the stgw 90
Nice video, mate! As having served in the Swiss Armed Forces with a SIG 550 (Stgw 90), I really appreciate this video! Probably the most precise rifle ever built, we shoot with them in 300 metre stands without any scope, just rear and front sights! :-)
Awsome review Mishaco. I truly just love Swiss Firearms. They are very high quality pieces of art. I would just love to have a Pre Ban Sig rifle in the collection... Love The Channel an videos Mishaco....
Great video as always, JDI will actually be importing more of these later this year, but you had to order through a group buy since it was a custom-order. Apparently he said that this new batch of 550's will have the internal threading for the BFA, so I'm curious to see if there will be any other changes.
Already got you covered. We published one about a year ago. You should be able to find it in the Swiss playlist. It showed a SIG556 vs SIG551A1 vs SG551-2.
Are there any plans to import anymore of these? Even importing a few hundred, I'm sure there would be plenty of collectors willing to pay up for one. I know I would. Still a big business risk from the standpoint of a small importer though.
The issue has more to do with the SAN factory being able to build/supply a larger number. The diopters are a particular chokepoint in the supply chain.
I really wish I jumped on these when I had the chance. You know if JDI is going to import any more of the 550 variety any time soon? I'll probably snag one up then if that is even possible.
There is a group buy going on for some more of these to come in. Did you just have to buy the buttstock, or did you also have to buy the pin and cup spring as well?
You should check out the M+M M10x sometime, Misha. It's a lot more similar in terms of operation to a Sig than it is to an AK but you might get a kick out of it anyway, given your other interests.
Thing is, it isn't one important thing for us; its not military. Plus is M+M still doing those? That company has nearly gone dark in recent months. They don't even have a phoneline you can call into, just e-mail.
@@misha5670 Well, that's very true that it isn't a military rifle. I didn't necessarily mean you should look into for the channel, but you might be interested from a mechanical point of a view - if you should ever happen to find one at a store that is. They are hard to come by as you said. I keep up with the company on Facebook, but it sucks if M+M doesn't even have a phone number. It's a shame really, because the product itself is excellent. Anyway, I love what you do with the channel - it's easily my favorite gun channel on youtube. Best of luck to you!
I used to have the owner of M+M's cell number and still do, but he's not answered in years. Its not just me either, others I know have reported the same. If you try calling their main telephone line, it says it isn't for voice calls now. I have no idea what's up with them, but doesn't inspire confidence in being able to get spare parts or accesssories in the future.
OK. I'm 19 minutes into the video and I have yet to see any kitties and I'm starting to get worried. . . 31:09, whew, I feel so much better now

Very informative video! Answered my question about the bayonet lug! Didn't know the barrel was shaved down either!!
Nobody knows more about these rifles than you do Misha!

first :P
nice in depth comparison of both old and new, personally liking the new ones alil more due to the features and such.
thanks for sharing
Great Video Misha,
I’ll dig out my Pre Ban Sig and check out the serial #
Nice side by side comparison 👍
Thanks much for watching, cheers.
Awesome Video, Awesome Gun 👍👍

*sigh* Well, now I need to save up more money, cause Misha has convinced me to get a SAN SG550P...
Unfortunately, the issue might be more of finding one for sale at all. High demand and only a few in the USofA.
@@misha5670 I was planning to wait for more to come in. I doubt the current shipment will be the only ones to come in.
The butt stock was changed so that it would break rather than bend the receiver if you fall on the gun.
Is JDI the last importer for these?
Such a cool gun wish the Sig's were still as of good quality
Which SIGs?
@@misha5670 us made ones 556i their lean mean jamming machines lol and very expensive ones
Have you owned one that jammed on you? The 4 I've had in the past, while not perfect, were at least reliable.
@mishaco what type bayonet works with the sig 516 with bayonet lug?
Can you do one on the Sig 556 classic?
Already got you covered. We published one about a year ago. You should be able to find it in the Swiss playlist. It showed a SIG556 vs SIG551A1 vs SG551-2.
Hello any idea where I could get a baynott for a dog 550?

If I may ask, how do you adjust the trigger? Thanks.

I had to buy the stock and spring seperately.
Does this rifle have to go through 922r compliance when you put the stock on?
Why in the hell would you do that?
6:45 "They fold both directions." Good lord who is the genius that came up with that idea?!
Its the same with the earlier STGW57 too.
Have you ever considered to lent one of these to the crew of the 9-Hole Reviews?
I actually asked them multiple times to review this gun. It's weird that they didn't cuz they love k31

I love and enjoy your videos the best!!!
But you are not blind but good disguise just like pf Russia.
Thumbs up

Love everything about the 550 series, but since they're the Rolls Royce of rifles they are way out of my pay grade.
Its something to save up for and trade up to for sure, cheers.
