Marc, I live on 1,400 dollars a month. That's my social security. Rent, food, phone, electric, wi-fi (no cable), a small storage unit, gasoline. I eat out once a month on pay-day and that's usually drive-thru. The only extra I pay for is HBO Max and You Tube Premium and one You Tube membership, yours. Our cost of living is cheaper here but it's still a struggle so I know where you're coming from. Good video.
When I first got back to Vegas 7 years ago, Alex and I were living on 1600 a month in a weekly. We, too, maybe ate out once a month. You are absolutely amazing, Carlyn. I appreciate your membership and am honored that you are a part of our ever growing family.
I live in Vegas and this was a great video. It’s so much cheaper than Chicago and of course the weather is better! Please keep doing these I know people will find them helpful. Congratulations on the sponsor.
I’m from Chicago and am thinking about going to Vegas. Glad to hear the cost of living is cheaper there. I’ve been doing a lot of research on Vegas. Thanks!!!
Great and honest reporting. I'm retired and live on my SS and pension. SS went up slightly in the last 4 years. 4 years ago my rent for a 400 sq foot studio was $650, it is now $850. But that's what the rent on the lease looks like, I pay more. There are additional costs they have cleverly decided to charge. This means in 4 years, if you look at rent alone...that has risen around $200 but I now pay $425 a year to have my dog and I now pay for water at $425 a year, both break down to $35 a month. So, in addition to human food, animal food, personal products and gas , I have a whopping $70 extra a month. I pay $920 per month just for rent! I retired from 2 jobs. Just never got married. So, whilst Las Vegas is far cheaper than most places, if you are on a fixed income and you don't have a Y Tube channel, donate plasma or become a hooker...chances are high it might be tough. Lol! Thank you for keeping it real! Wouldn't live anywhere else!!💖
Okay, the last sentences made me laugh, lol. At this point, YT really only pays for itself. It was incredibly hard to make videos at the beginning of the channel, and I often found myself struggling through a week after filming a video with my friends. Thank you so much, Sparky. Marc this was such an awesome video. I really enjoyed how you broke everything down for us on what it would cost to live in Las Vegas. Hawaii is so expensive and many people move to Las Vegas from here because it’s so much more affordable. By the way, your Godfather Movie Palette is pretty cool. 👍
Thank you so much, DH. Hawaii is gorgeous but crazy expensive. I have a lot of Hawaiian friends who all moved here from the islands. Vegas is the 9th Island, after all, lol.
Great Vid Marc! I myself am a local of three years. I am a military retiree. Its so hard for me to even try to figure out my cost even on generic stuff because things change every month. It could be a show, it could be a few nights out at some decent bars, or it could be staying home for two weeks and just doing takeout! But the way you laid it down and the video looked good and thank you for sharing!
Great video! I feel like I should do one so people have a different perspective. As far as me living alone and the cost of living for a single in a 1br.
I've been living in the LV area off and on for the last 14 years and feel the best thing about the area is the sunshine/weather and the access to good shows and an airport that has flights directly in and out of the country.
Our housing here in Mississippi has gone up too. To find an apartment is like in Vegas the same thing. my dad just sold his apartments cause he moved . he helped out everyone there to have a place to live. Now the new owner doubled the rent. So some will have too move if can find a place. To live costs every where . yeah some places way high.that's why so many good people end up homeless. Most eat out alot instead of cooking . my mom and I do lol. But we do cook enough to last . Gas here about the same. When you show how much it costs to live lol its kinda shocking even though we all pay bills we really don't think about the exact amount. You pay to stay. Enjoyed your break down of your expenses. Love to see in your areas you recommend . I love Vegas and feels like home when there. I know one day ill end up there lol..thanks Marc! Till next time. Later from the south!
Thank you for this. It was hard to find a video that was honest and straight the point. Now, I have a better idea of what I need to do before I move out there. Thank you.
The first thing my eye caught was that Movie Palette. It's beautiful! This was a good idea to give an approximate break down on cost of living in Vegas. Apartment shortages seem to be nationwide. I read people in streams saying they are going to move there and then figure out where they are going to live. Not a good idea imo. It would be great to do a video on what areas that are good to live, but you could also do a second video of "you do NOT want to live in this area". Every city has good areas and bad areas, but sometimes it can be hard to differentiate. There might be some nice apartments but the area is not so good, perhaps even dangerous. That would be helpful for people thinking of living in Vegas. I like your apartment. It nice, comfortable, and just big enough to not have a lot of housework. LOVE that apartments come with washer/dryers. I noticed I had not seen many laundrymats. I live 40 minutes from the ocean up near Boston. I am not sure I would like being landlocked to live in Vegas. Never say never though, because I have had enough of the snow. Thanks for the peek of Vegas from the view of a local.
Now, that was an awesome comment. The shortages of apartments is pretty scary but fortunately we are building many more right now. Thank you so much for watching and such an awesome comment.

Thanks for showing what it costs. One bedroom apartments here in Los Angeles are more than yours & since I've been there, I know you're in a nice, newer area.
My name is Chuck Spady, I am subscribed to your channel, but I have not paid part just yet, I will soon as I can afford a little more. But I have watched this part of your youtube and I have to say you are on point. I lived in Las Vegas from 2008 to 2011 when I left. I am trying to get back to Vegas, at the time I was there I was connected as a graphic designer. When I do come back I'll be able to get a better job. I have a Master's Degree in Media Design. So when I do move, any good information you can give or realtors to rent a good place would be very helpful. And keep up the good work on your blogger, I enjoy the Freemont Street Video you put out. LV also has a low where you need to make at least 3x in wages than your rent. So if the apartment you want is $1,200/month, then you need to show minimum $3,600/mo income.
Arizona has skyrocketed especially in the Phx area houses that were 200k in 2020 are now 500 and up for 3-4 bedrooms. Utah is hard living. I did that for a year and a half, and coming from Vegas, it was definitely culture shock. My CA rent for a 4 bed house was 2800 a month whereas in Vegas it was 1500. This was in 2009.

Good one Marc. If you don't mind I had the thought of doing a comparison of what I pay to live here at my location. Just to see where my money is going. Keep in mind I have the mortgage paid.
Hello this was awesome I currently live in Orange County California I'm looking to purchase a 2nd home in Henderson NV - thanks for the content it was informative
It has came across my mind about moving to Vegas. I do have a few jobs lined up in the Towing industry. Where I live in Ontario Canada it's really expensive. I still think las vegas is way cheaper to live then Ontario Canada. Especially if I do move and get a Towing Transporting job. Because I'll be getting the same pay rate.
Welp....how could i not get my favorite movie (Fear and loathing). This was a great video, eye opening for sure. We both looked at each other when you called out Alex, for standing at the door and said "you can see that, can't you?" Lol. Keep up the awesome work Marc!
When you first walked in to the apartment, it looked like you had a bigger, cloth-back chair at the dinner table with Godfather printed on the fabric. I was surprised when you didn’t sit down in it. 😂 Interesting to learn how much $$$ you spend monthly. A bit of a bummer to see all those high prices, but very interested to learn more about the different places to live around Vegas. I’m still hopeful that we will move there someday, but it will probably take a miracle. Or a really big jackpot!
I bought my house 1,400 sq ft in surprise Arizona in 2012 for 82,000$ . Mortgage was 390$ a month . In 2023 it’s gone up to 520$ and I’m complaining … seeing these rent numbers makes me very thankful I made good decisions at the right time
Thank you , Marc....It's tough enough to earn a Buck ; even harder to hold on to it !...Looks like I'm staying put..(lol)...I really enjoy your videos...Take care..

Cable is $296 and cell phone is $250 and of course this is just the basics and does not include car payment and etc It is so expensive. Plus food/treats/insurance for the Pomeranians!!

Thank you for a very valuable video as I have been a Las Vegas, Nevada for over 12 years NOW!!! :)- Kudos to you and what YOU bring to the channel!!! :)- We already know that the people from California have completely RUINED the affordability since the Pandemic!!!
Las Vegas home prices are about to crash. It’s not a situation where you can move in a buy on the cheap. The truth is that Las Vegas is going to run out of water. Lake Mead will go back into the original river in 3 years. California gets what water is left.
@@TheOtherMeLV Maybe I should have been more clear, potable water from Lake Mead will dwindle back into the original river system and what will be available, will cost a fortune for businesses and homes alike. You see, the water agreements in place, Nevada is allowed to take 300,000 acre-feet of water per year. When the number goes up, Nevada has to pay extra for that water. The additional costs are passed on to the consumer. Last year Lake Mead lost over 20 feet of depth and that doesn’t factor in siltation, which brings the bottom of the lake to a higher elevation. So far this fall and winter we have seen an surplus of snow up in the Rockies. That doesn’t mean the lake level will increase simply because the demand continues to pick up. So we are going to see some stretches of consistent water levels for a few months. However, most Hydro-climatologists agree that the dessert SouthWest is normally much dryer than what we have seen since the dam was built. That means we should expect a substantial decrease in snow cap in the Colorado Mountains over the years. Basic water demand is only going to pick up as time goes on in the Las Vegas valley until water becomes more expensive than gasoline.
I love your cost of living story. How about a little about your life story. Married/divorced, three kids, you lived in Las Vegas all your life, what you do before YouTubing, are you retired? Stuff like that. Is RUclips your main source of income?
I make decent money from my job and investments but I have so much credit card debt I gotta crash at home...I pay the equivalent of a month's rent just on credit cards. It's lame.

@@TheOtherMeLV I’ll try Chapala’s the next time I’m there. 👍🏼😀
thx for the vid very informative great job marc
Thank you, Vegas Barbs!
Interesting video Marc. Always wanted to know how much it lives there. This vlog was very useful. I think your face on the thumbnail says it all 😅
Thank you, my friend. I appreciate you watching.
@@TheOtherMeLV appreciate the content you do for us, you are the best 🙂
Hi Marc, I'am retired ,thanks for the video it was very good. Lot of truth to what you say.Like the Pallette 😊
Good one Marc. If you don't mind I had the thought of doing a comparison of what I pay to live here at my location. Just to see where my money is going. Keep in mind I have the mortgage paid.
I think you can do your comparison right off of this video
Very well done video Marc!
Thank you, GQ!
Hi Marc! Great video, love the content. Yes please, I would love to see the best places to live in the Las Vegas area! Thanks!
Thank you, Suzi! I'm already working on it!
Awesome video 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you, Josh!
Can't get through life without good Mexican food.
Agree 💯💯
Wow, I live in Illinois small town and if you sit down and add everything up, I would be surprised
I was surprised after I added it up! 🤣🤣
Interesting video. As for the one napkin, one of my top irritants when eating out!
Right?!?! I make a mess 🤣🤣
Hello this was awesome I currently live in Orange County California I'm looking to purchase a 2nd home in Henderson NV - thanks for the content it was informative
That's awesome, Traci! Thank you for watching!
Great video everything you said was right. I love vegas. Been here since 2019 of sept. Moved away from chicago
Thanks Marc ✌️
Thank you, Denise!
Thanks for the video!
Thank you, MAGS!
Do it my friend
Dope video ! I moved from Philly to Vegas and then up to pocatello Idaho. But I’m about to go back to Vegas soon
Welp....how could i not get my favorite movie (Fear and loathing). This was a great video, eye opening for sure. We both looked at each other when you called out Alex, for standing at the door and said "you can see that, can't you?" Lol. Keep up the awesome work Marc!
Nice job Marc.
Thank you!
Oh, I think you'll be able to do it. You put out great content, and I'm sure you guys will be big.
Very informative. I'd love to move out of New York City in the next few years to live in Vegas.
It's a lot cheaper here. I hope to visit NY soon.
I bought my house 1,400 sq ft in surprise Arizona in 2012 for 82,000$ . Mortgage was 390$ a month . In 2023 it’s gone up to 520$ and I’m complaining … seeing these rent numbers makes me very thankful I made good decisions at the right time
That's a great mortgage payment
You mean you didn't want Weekend at Bernie's? 😉🤣 Damn! Potatoes are up to $8 for a ten pound bag here in Indiana now!
Really??? Are we having a potato shortage? Wad there a potato flu?? 🤣🤣
GREAT VIDEO LOVE THE CONTENT THANKS
Thank you, Linda!
Sweet painting
I love it
Yes!!! more videos about living in different areas in Vegas.
Thank you , Marc....It's tough enough to earn a Buck ; even harder to hold on to it !...Looks like I'm staying put..(lol)...I really enjoy your videos...Take care..
You are awesome Jim. Thank you so much. I really appreciate you!
@@TheOtherMeLV Right back at you, Big Guy....You're Good People !...Godspeed..
Wow that’s expensive rent. But inflation didn’t help any of it. Plus it’s Vegas not bfe where I am. Awesome video once again!!!
In CA it's twice as expensive if not more. Just depends on the state. Thank you, Jodi!
@@TheOtherMeLV oh yeah but California is just lost it’s ever loving mind. Lol it does definitely matter the state and area. I’m in a 3200sq ft and don’t pay that in mortgage, but I don’t have crap to do here so.🤷🏼♀️😂
You have a great budget and wish we didn’t live in Southern Highlands with the outrageous housing expenses. Other than that, not favoring in our car and insurance, the rest is almost a dead match. See you in the next video!
I used to want the big house and expensive cars. I had it all but it was too much. Now I'd rather live average and have money to have fun.
Interesting subject, you aren't a drinker and that would dig deep onto alot of people moving there budgets.
Just add it to the total lol
Cost of living and food review best combo 😂😂 in a vlog
Haha thank you, Penny!
hi Marc this was an awesome video its very intresting becouse in a year i plan to move to vegas great advice ... Thank you 👍
Psalm 82:3 (NIV)
“Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and oppressed.”
With everything going up for 2024....ouch!!! My health insurance premium increased by over 100%, and our car insurance jumped by $79 monthly. Cable is $296 and cell phone is $250 and of course this is just the basics and does not include car payment and etc It is so expensive. Plus food/treats/insurance for the Pomeranians!!
Great video Godfather s**t is expensive these days ….yo that food looked amazing 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
It's crazy expensive anymore. Thank you, Rio.
Awesome Vid Marc!!!
Cali girl...1st time watching this video

Great Video. I didn't quite get the name and location of that Mexican restaurant you ate at?

Very nice enjoy it
Thank you, Ron
❤️ thank you hun
Thank you, Brenda!
Can you do a video or give ideas of jobs in the Las Vegas area that aren't service related? Like are there any manufacturing jobs? Stuff like that
Hi Marc 👍
Hi Lloyd!
You need to cut your cost!
High speed fiber optic internet $59.00 Month.
Phones, 5 lines 5g unlimited talk, text and internet $125.00.
Groceries, 5 people $800.00 month using coupons.
House payment on newer 2,700sq ft house $1,300 month.
Power, $100.00 month.
Shop around and save some money!😏
Thank you for a very valuable video as I have been a Las Vegas, Nevada for over 12 years NOW!!! :)- Kudos to you and what YOU bring to the channel!!! :)- We already know that the people from California have completely RUINED the affordability since the Pandemic!!!
Well Done!
Las Vegas home prices are about to crash. It’s not a situation where you can move in a buy on the cheap. The truth is that Las Vegas is going to run out of water. Lake Mead will go back into the original river in 3 years. California gets what water is left.
Prices are going to go down across the nation. We're not going to run out of water in 3 years, lol.
Most of this is covered in many of my videos. I will be tackling some of these subjects though.
I make decent money from my job and investments but I have so much credit card debt I gotta crash at home...I pay the equivalent of a month's rent just on credit cards. It's lame.
Brother come live with me I'm not even paying that much but let's make a deal for it! I live in the Southern Highlands area!
LMAO, I'm good where I am. SH is way out there.
Thanks for this video I am considering moving to Vegas but don’t get what that board has to do with one of the greatest movies of all time???
It's art.
The shortest lines are always the longest. 😂
🐂🐂🔥🔥🔥 great video, Marc very informative. We all have to pay our government and the corporations God gave us everything free go figure. TMB
