Thank you so much for this video. I am in the market to buy one and this video helped me make my decision. The only difference is I may go with 900 instead of 800. Before I do that, I hope I can find one of your videos comparing 800 and 900.
I think that would be a good choice. The 900 came out right after I made this video. I would definitely buy the newer model. I’m sorry I don’t have a comparison video on the 800 vs 900.
What I do to compare 2 different Metal Detectors is to hunt with your newest detector & when you think that you found a good target, Take your other/older detector & go over it & see what that 1 says on the meter. It's a lot more work, But it will show you what is really happening because you could have missed your target by an inch or two & that's why your older detector never saw it. Just a thought for you to try it. Very nice video. :)
You’re absolutely correct. It’s best to test them side by side at the same time on the same property. I detected these yards several years apart. When I first got my Garrett, I hit them hard multiple times. Other guys had also detected them in the past. When I got the Nox, I went back. I’m still amazed how much I found!
@@mdutah-insearchofmormongold When hunting with my hunting buddy, We always check each other's targets. It is amazing how different they are. I once got a hit on a target & it said it was 13in deep & saying that it was a penny using my Fisher F75. It was a Whisper hit & it was so quiet, My buddy with his Minelab went over it & said that his machine was breaking up & could not lock onto the target & if it was him, he wouldn't dig it. Well, it was a 1919 wheaty.
I've been on the fence about getting one . Now you made up my mine, thanks ! I got a $100.Teknetics Liberator 11 " coil . that finds coins faster than my AT Pro . no bull .
It’s a great machine! I’ve only used the stock coil so I would curious what you find with the Liberator. You should check out my other video about finding treasure in the desert. That was an unbelievable find in a very heavily detected area.
There’s a lot of truth to that statement. You can may the most expensive detector ever made but if you don’t take the time to learn how to use it, it won’t do you much good.
You have to remember when everyone does these videos that say look what this found on this property I detected before HAVE to keep in mind you’ll hardly ever go over the same ground the same way in the exact location so what you didn’t pick up before may just as well been a piece of ground you didn’t go over so unless you bring the detector you used before and only after the new one hits a target then swing the old one over it if it hits then you know you just hit an undetected piece of ground 9 times out of 10 that’s the case
Good point. A lot of guys just skim properties. I’ve been over the same area multiple times with the same machine and still found things. Having used the Equinox 800 now for a couple of years, I’m still convinced it’s a better machine.
hit lots of silver with my old whites idx pro garrett at pro use 13 inch coil found copper ajuster brass ajuster for a kersine lamp from 1800 live in this house still have not run out of targets home was built from civil war he fought in home from 1890
Hard to say if you did not swing your at max over exact same ground area as signal found in video. For definitive proof, you should've brought the at max along at the same time.
That’s a good point. I had detected those properties multiple times over the years with the AT Gold. I’ve had similar experiences at other places as well. I’m convinced the Nox is a better machine.
My first was a Garrett Gold. I’ve had a lot of success with it and it’s still going strong after 11 years. That being said, the Equinox is a better machine.
Yes, you’re correct. It’s not really apples to apples. Minelab operates on newer technology. The Garrett Gold is still a good machine but I’ve found so much more with the Nox.
You made two crucial, fundamental mistakes: 1. you assume the ground never changes so if you detected it once it's done 2. you titled it as a comparison but your entire content is showing your finds.....no signals...no check with the Garrett. sad
Those are fair points. I actually detected the properties multiple times with the Garrett years before. Other people also detected them. The two machines operate on different technologies, so that’s probably the biggest factor.
Get what you can afford and master it. Garrett's ok, Nox lineup is great, if you can swing it Deus2 will out preform the Nox (first hand experience been detecting 30 years) From what im hearing the Deus2 & Manticor are pretty much on the same playing field.
That’s great advice. There is quite a price difference between the different machines. If you can afford it, go for the Manticore or Deus. If not, the Nox is good option.
I hit these properties hard after I first bought my Garrett. In fact, I found my first Buffalo nickel on one of them. All the yards had been detected multiple times by other guys over the years as well. Different times, different technologies. The Equinox is just a better machine.

The best detector is the one you know and understand the best.

@@mdutah-insearchofmormongold ~ I got a feeling even the cheap ones landed someone some gold somewhere cause they knew what they were doing with it.

I love my Nox 800 but will never sell my AT Pro. Happy hunting and good luck 🍀🤞🤞👍👍
Same here. My AT Gold is my backup machine.
Problem is hard to compare the AT Gold isn't quit the coin unit as a lower frequency
I agree. It’s not a fair side by side comparison. Different technologies.
I have an AT Max and an Equinox 900, I've found a lot with each. The 900 has more programable features and is much lighter to swing.
Same here. I’ve found a lot over 10 years with the AT Gold but I do really love the Nox.
Have you tried XP metal detectors
I have an XP pinpointer but I haven’t used an XP detector. What are your thoughts on them?

Yeah, I don’t believe a property is ever completely detected out. Best of luck to you!

My first machine was a garrett ace 250 , i never bought another garrett after that. Fisher , minelab , XP and Nokta all better machines.
My first was a Garrett Gold. I’ve had a lot of success with it and it’s still going strong after 11 years. That being said, the Equinox is a better machine.
Great video
Thanks! I hope it was informative.
Seems like the Minelab Equinox 800 is the one to go with, if all those other detectors are missing all those coins.
I’ve sure enjoyed it. I’ve been back to multiple places that have been heavily detected and I still found things with the Nox.
So ..which is better? Minelab looks better& newer
Yes, you’re correct. It’s not really apples to apples. Minelab operates on newer technology. The Garrett Gold is still a good machine but I’ve found so much more with the Nox.
You can have that ring fixed at the jewelry shop
Hitting the noise cancel might help also it sets at the best frequency for the ground your in and might run quite and more stabler.
I'll take any Minelab detector over any Garrett detector all day long. No contest
I’ve been shocked how much stuff I’ve found with it. I’m definitely sold on it!
E os detectores da Fisher?

You are probably the only person in the United States who has that pin.
Haha! Or at least in the West!

@@Stack_Silver Same here!
No no no deus11 all the way 60 foot under water. I can't see minelab doing that 😅
I’ve heard a lot of great things about the Deus ll, and that depth rating is impressive. It is quite a bit more expensive than the 800 though.
@@mdutah-insearchofmormongold yes I know but I an worth it with the m16 pinpointer
Yeah exactly pointless deus Daffy Duck on the end of a stick sound terrible uff 😮
@@johnmetrac2898What? 🤷🏼♂️
And how many times have you detected, 60 feet underwater?
Melhor é a Fisher 😊😊
I’ve never used a Fisher. I’m sure they make some good machines.
Didn’t try the Garrett before the dig on the first alert, or did you, don’t think so. 👎🏻

Minelab us #1, Garrett not even close.
Garrett is great, but I really love the Nox!
Garrett omg cheap box of outdated cheap radio components never buy one massively overpriced
There is certainly a lot of competition and some amazing machines out there.
