    Don't brake torque whit raptor R. If there's any amount of brake pressure detected, the computers tell the engine to stand down and reduce the amount of torque delivered through the driveline. Ford says this is to prevent the engine from overwhelming the brakes. If and when you take delivery of a Raptor R, follow these two easy steps to achieve maximum acceleration: Select Sport mode (this automatically puts the transfer case into 4Auto) and turn on the Auto-Hold function for the brake system. Stand on the throttle and you're off. Simply flat-footing it from rest without using Auto Hold is a tenth slower.

Now the R is 111K with 50 to 60 K markup. So in todays markets with interests rate much higher a R would cost you around $3000 or so a month. I don't know many people who can afford a $3000 a month truck payment. That more than my house payment not a good financial move for a depreciating asset you will be lucky if it worth 90K in 3 years. Just do an intercooler, downpipes, intake and Garrett turbos on the 3.5 with a Goose Tune that will put you at 603 at the wheels for a fraction of the cost of and R.

It also has no HUD or Rearview mirror camera plus allot of Ford plastic in the interior. Shifter is cheap looking with no carbon fiber to match interior. I just have a feeling the R is going to have allot of problems in time especially with transmission. To me the best option is Raptor 3.5L with 35’s. If your doing allot of off-roading. That’s what that frame was designed for. 37’s for weekend warriors.

    Thanks for the video, Andre. With the markups at new and used dealerships I would not buy either one. I found a 2023 Raptor R on Craigs List (Portland Or) at a used car dealer. Asking price $199,999. On the same search I found a 2022 Raptor on 37s with 6000 miles for $85,900. I feel like that's cheaper than what a new Raptor 37 would be at a Ford dealership. WOW 🤩 Raptor R is definitely a beast of a truck

  • @kromey111
    @kromey111 Год назад +1

    Typically, when launching these high-powered behemoths, a big brake torque to build up boost and revs is the quickest way off the line. Unlike the TRX, the Raptor R isn't equipped with an adjustable launch-control system or any launch assistance for that matter. But that's right, the Raptor R runs to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds from idle at the line.

    People hating on the 3.5 twin turbo clearly don’t actually understand the purpose of a Baja inspired truck. Trust me if your actually using your truck for long distance off road runs you want 600+ mile range and not 400 mile range or less that you will get with the R. Finding gas stations in the middle of the desert isn’t easy. And people doing long off road rallies don’t care about 0-60 or how the truck sounds. That’s not the point of these rigs. Far better to invest in long travel suspension and a solid navigation system and star link than some 7mpg truck just because it sounds better. The 3.5 6 is bullet proof. People who criticize the v6 don’t understand the importance of weight reduction for jumping,fuel economy for range. I’d by the r as an investment and let it sit in shrink wrap while I drive my gen 2
