    Chris, fine video, but I feel the underlying tactic misses the mark and it takes more effort than the following approach:
    * If a task needs to be done on a particular day/time, put it only in the Apple Calendar.
    * Otherwise, put it in the Apple Reminders app and put it into one of these lists:
    * Do Today (but not a a particular time).
    * Soon.
    * Waiting (on someone to do something).
    * Everything else.
    Move tasks from list to list as appropriate. Resequence the tasks up and down the "Do Today" list according to your priorities.
    As an alternative in Reminders, put all the tasks in one list, give it sections corresponding to the lists above, and view it "As Columns". Move tasks from column to column.
    If you like this approach, you are welcome to make a video on it and make it your own.

    Great video, thanks! This is actually the first time I’ve seen someone make a quick compelling case for why I should use Fantastical. I was considering starting my new year with Todoist, but I’d have to pay for their premium version just for calendar integration. Btw, with Fantastical (unpaid version), do you know if what you did in this video will work with a Google calendar? (Or does this only work with an iCloud calendar? - the dragging/dropping/integration with Apple Reminders)

    • @chriscardoso
      @chriscardoso  8 месяцев назад

      I don’t actually think you need to pay for premium in order to link Todoist with Google Calendar!

      I love Todoist for that very reason. It’s cross platform (iOS, Android, Mac, PC) and syncs with Google Calendar to show you tasks as events.

  • @2bs2gs
    @2bs2gs 7 месяцев назад

    This is a great video. I have todoist but ran into limitations when trying to add event's by asking Siri to add a reminder since it' doesn't recognize the voice commend of "create a task in Todoist". Very frustrating. Have you used voice comments to create tasks or calendar events in Fantastical? If so, how'd it go? I need this syncing feature. Even syncing between my phone, iPad and laptop doesn't always go as planned since my laptop is old and needs to be upgraded.

    • @chriscardoso
      @chriscardoso  7 месяцев назад +1

      If you’ve got the integration between reminders and fantastical set, there’s no dragging and dropping needed on your phone. If you create a task in fantastical or a reminder in reminders, they’ll sync between the two apps automatically.

    Very nice thanks. I presume when you are creating a calendar event yourself, you use Fantastical itself, right.. while letting people send you events created by them in your other calendar accounts, into Fantastical? That's the only way I can see this working if I don't want to be looking at several calendars every day.

    • @chriscardoso
      @chriscardoso  7 месяцев назад

      Correct. I typically have 4 calendars: my personal calendar, my work calendar, my spouse’s calendar, and our joint calendar.

      There are a few things that might be going wrong.
      1. Check Fantastical’s Settings and select “Accounts.” Make sure that “Show Reminders” is checked.
      2. Then click into “Calendars & Lists.” From here, you can select which lists in Apple Reminders you want to sync into Fantastical.

      Google manages events and remainders in one single app, the Google Calendar. The events are... well... 'Events', and remainders are 'Tasks'. The only problem is that Google forces you to assign a date, so you can no make, for example a list.

    • @PeladoBR
      @PeladoBR 2 месяца назад +1

      @@travisbickle2010 Exactly. Reminders doesn't have the necessity to have a date or time assigned. So, that's my point. Like, if you have something to do that has date and time, it's a calendar thing. If not, it's a reminder thing. That's what I mean when I said that they're different things.
