How long time machine keeps deleted data? And is there way to always keep deleted files?

When I go to "all photos" and then select "month" or "year", 2024 apparently doesn't exist. The photos are there, but I can't narrow searches down anymore. Ridiculous.

Is there a replacement app we can download and use instead?

Whyyyyyyy?? This update is AWFUL. My iphone recently broke and in the interim I used a Samsung until it was fixed. Wow. The Samsung was just SO much better and easier to use, and it took much nicer photos too. Was not expecting that. I think apple are reachingthe end of the their reign.

Also, I know that if I’m using an Apple app that it is reliable and will be around for a long time without any worries that it’s going to be discontinued. I love Apple and it’s reliability, and the flawless syncing between my iPhone, iPad, and Mac. In 10 years I’ve never had a crash or a glitch.

I don’t want to badmouth Microsoft because I used OneNote for many years because I liked its book, chapter, pages format, however, I want to get away from Microsoft for the simple reason that I know when they decide to stop a product, they just do, and then I’m left with 20 orphaned books that I’ve spent 10 years creating with chapters and pages. So I migrated to Apple 10 years ago and wanted an apple app for my Notes and I have watched dozens of RUclips videos now to learn how to achieve the same goals that I had with OneNote. So thanks to Chris Cardoso in the video above for presenting about everything you can do with Notes on iPad, especially folders and subfolders. They are essentially the books and chapters from OneNote. Thanks.

I’m on iOS 18.2 and very disappointed with what’s on offer. I was super excited for this after seeing how good go on for Gemini looked but I’ve found Apple intelligence to be pretty bad. Even with my account integrated with my gpt 4 account. Apple intelligence seems to know nothing at all and at most will just send my message to chat gpt which works out slower than just opening the chat gpt app. On top of this normal tasks I did with Siri like setting alarms are now noticeably slower. Really disappointing that everything you have said in this video still rings true for me. Very underwhelmed

Appreciate the tips! The fact that they took away the total photo/video file count right there under your “all” folder is really annoying... to find it now, tap your iCloud pfp in the top right corner, there it will show your total file count.

Thank you! When you backup the photos library to a HD or NAS does it just backup the local smaller optimised photos in the library or the full originals from iCloud?

I am amazed you do not recommend getting rid of Apple out of our lives completely and go to some user experience that does not constantly mess( polite choice of verb) wiht our phone and our stuff. my photos are my work and THIS IS ENOUGH TO MAKE ME CHUCk this thing in the bin. Hi Chris. I have a really special problem. Some photos are moved to pinned collection - Map. And I´m only able to see them there, not in main gallery, just in map collection, and try to find them by location. It was always photos with some kind of numbers, or qr code or something like that. I can´t find answer anywhere... and a googled a lot ...

You assume I know what a pinned collection is. I don’t, don’t have any. Another Apple lover who has little talent for teaching. Especially, a difficult app.

Is it possible to allow reminders to sync from Apple Calendar? It would be extremely helpful to have my Apple Calendar automatically update with my schoolwork from Schoology (which it does already) to then create reminders with the same name and due dates from the calendar. Any help would be appreciated!

I think you kind of jumped the gun here - iOS 18.2 has ChatGPT integration, as does macOS 15.2. But I forgive you. ;)

Thank you for the video Sorry I wasn’t clear w my question that I had asked earlier ; when you had showed us how to make the iOS 18 photos app “closer” to the iOS 17 version, you checked the boxes of the sections you wanted to remove to “simplify “ the new version ,,so by revert back I meant can you put back those sections that you removed (on the iOS 18. ) in other words can you add those sections back even after you removed them ,,Can you do that? Thanks! (I haven’t updated yet and it sounds terrible! )

Hi thank you for the video, after you customize, could you always revert back ? I have not updated yet , I’m reading how bad the update is and I already agree , I like the photo app like it always was .. so simple to use and less complicated, this sounds like a disaster … I’m hoping apple will go back to the original app before I update ugh 😕
