Gary, here is a Reminders tip that some of your viewers may not know about.
It is possible to include a task/event on 2 lists simultaneously.
For example, I have about 25 lists in the Reminders app. They are topic-oriented, like Genealogy, Money, Medical. To manage the items on those lists, I set dates/times or resequence them by dragging them up and down.
For tasks/events that do not have a date/time specified, I use some Tags to indicate "when" I want to tackle them. Examples are: "Today", "Hot", and "Someday". I then created a Smart List for each of those "When" Tags.
It's fairly easy to move a task/event from one "When" list to another by adding/deleting Tags.

I avoided these also for a long time. Over the last two years, however (thanks in no small part to MacMost), I’ve found that Apples native apps rarely leave anything to be desired.
It’s very eco-system based so not everyone will have the same experience as me.
The one app suite I haven’t replaced with Apples native offering is MS Office. Pages is very capable for my needs and so I probably could jettison Word but Numbers just ain’t as powerful as Excel. I’ve not committed to the learning curve implied by switching to keynote and pages.

    Gary, another excellent video.
The Reminders and Calendar apps have similar capabilities. So, all users need to decide which app they are going to use for which capability.
My past strategy has been to use Calendar for tasks/events that involve other people. I share my Calendar with my wife, so she can see when I won't be available. I put tasks/events that only involve myself into Reminders, whether they are time-dependent or not.
I am now changing my strategy. I plan on putting all tasks/events that are time-dependent onto the Calendar which I still share. If a task/event only applies to me, I put it on a second Calendar, which I don't share. The big benefit in my mind for doing so is that if I need to change a date/time of a task/event, it is easier to do that on Calendar by just dragging it. Also, the Calendar helps me schedule tasks/events that only involve me so that they don't conflict with other tasks/events. - - - I still keep non-time-dependent tasks/events in Reminders and I manage / prioritize them with Lists, Smart Lists, and Tags. The big benefit in my mind for doing so is that it is easier to resequence tasks/events in the Reminders app by dragging.
Could you suggest some pros or cons of each strategy?
Would you like to suggest a different strategy?
Perhaps you would feel this matter is worthy of one of your videos.

Great to the point video, but it seems but you left out one important feature: To be able to delete all completed items at once on the desktop version, you need to scroll to the top of the list which will show: the # of completed tasks/items, and the clear & hide option. It looks like you're at the top of the list and you think that you are, but NO, you need to scroll to the very top even if you think you're already there and unless you see those 3 things, you are not. This drove me nuts for a while until I figured it out... I'm surprised you didn't include this since it is so basic and much faster than going into the menu to show completed items. Mac is so intuitiv that the obvious becomes inobvious some times and I bet you didn't even know that this was possible - you're welcome... 😁

The thing that has kept me from using Reminders is that you cannot select a choice of either "show completed" or not on a per-list basis. For instance, to make a grocery list, I want to review a list of groceries and check off what I need, then de-select it while shopping. But in regular daily reminders, I don't want to see old reminders. Wish that option was per-list, but for now I use a Note with a bulleted checklist to accomplish pretty much the same thing for groceries.

I’ve set that very function up in the Notes app. I have a list of dozens of grocery items in a list made from the itemize function. I tap the bullet to mark the needed item with a “check”, and when I get the item I tap to uncheck leaving it there to check it back on the next time I need the item without having to type/dictate it in again. I’ve even broken it down into categories relevant to location in the store so I can start top to bottom as I make my way thru the store.
