I like how Rambo, before speeding into action, applies some Situational Awarness focus. He asses the whole situation and concludes he has to go for a weapon powerfull enough to destroy a helicopter. He a highly skilled soldier that puts not only physical effort but also brain.
Rambo is basically free to kill during a one minute run by a heavy war helicopter + the machinegun he is trying to reach is not enough to neutralize that kind of threat + the machinegun spot was blasted 1 minute ago by a rocket from the helicopter, the machinegun is certainly down. Sorry to disagree, it was but a clever move.

Dshk (Duushka) old cold war Anti-aircraft goodness! Soviet armor tends to be kinda weak against its own brand.... And yes they make infamous thud thud in real life.
@@zachburke1 Soviet attack helicopters in Afghanistan have been pretty heavily armed though. Taking down one of them with the Dhsk, was pretty risky and definetly not an easy task. The filmmakers seem to have been utterly unaware of how rocket pods function. They don’t work like extra machine guns. They fire…rockets…pointy tubes with explosives in them. And they don’t fire anywhere near as fast as a machine gun. I do chuckle a bit that Rambo felt the need to tell women and children, who’ve already been under fire from attack helicopters for several minutes in an open desert and doubtless have already inhaled a lifetime’s worth of toxic fumes from explosions, to take cover. Thanks for the PSA, John.
CUM ON! Whining about dumbfire rocket pods and not about: Gazelles & Pumas?? Tsk,tsk 😛 1:51 Oooh look at that piece of HW...looks like the real deal.... ;-)
There is a division between which one is the best Rambo movie, and I refer to the classic franchise, of the 80s when Stallone was in his 40s, not the new ones. Once we have concluded that Rambo 1 (it is a masterpiece too), is not in the final, I have to say that Rambo 2 (set in Vietnam) is the best one. Rambo 3 (set in Afghanistan) is excellent, but the jungle of Vietnam and its surroundings has no paragon.
I remember that a few years ago there was a conversation with Tarantino saying that his idea would be to reboot Rambo but with Adam Driver in the lead role. And they had a lot of people making fun of him right after. Which leaves me just not understanding. Like, this would literally be this character's best movie.
Morally, these Rambo films are very dull boring. The first one even has the potential to be an interesting drama, but otherwise it's just a bunch of generic action movies from the 80s.
