FIA has always been poorly managed, but that night FIA truly proved how little they care for this Sportt and prioritizes Entertainment and Money over anything.
That's the goal tho. you can have the best managed sport in the world but if it's not entertaining nobody would watch it so there's not sport
Yup lewis winning and breaking the record would hurt ratings. Down rating less money for FIA and formula one. Let's be the real majority or huge chuck of Formula one are racist and ultra conservative, Lewis winning breaking the major white man record would lose those viewers.

The real issue is taking Abu Dhabi "21 as a singular event. You need to watch the whole season to fully appreciate everything going on. Lewis and Max were both pushing as hard as possible for every available advantage, in one of the most titanic championship battles ever. The attitude of "let them race" encouraged both of them to push the limit further and further, resulting in the accidents at Silverstone and Monza. If we still had Charlie at that stage, he would have taken them both in a backroom and forced them to sit through a full lecture on the rules, and then slapped them with penalties the next time they stepped out of line. 2021 was a terrific championship, that got shit on by the FIA allowing Masi to behave like a child, when the sport needed an adult in that chair most.

That was one of the best if not the best season in F1 history. And yes, I’ll never be ok with what happened at the end.
there was one driver pushing and breaking rules without consequence...the other guy was Lewis
@@daveruda he played the game they allowed him to play. A lot of rules should’ve been changed much earlier. Like the one that you have to be on the back axle to “have” a corner, or living a space. You must leave a the space

American here, I got into F1 around COVID because I got really heavy into sim racing and F1 is like the NFL of motorsport so naturally that's what I gravitated to. My first season actually watching was 2020 and after a year of showing my friend was just into cars about the races, he finally caved and watched the 2021 season. After the season ended I straight up said to him "Even though I'm new, I've watched a ton of other F1 content and can realize that your first season watching might be the best season you'll ever watch." He still watches every race, but I can tell he doesn't have the same enthusiasm as he did in that season
Amazing video. Massi should have red flagged the race. Hamilton and verstappen on new tires and a standing start + 5 more laps. Would had been far more fair, while also been super entertaining.
Yeah but hes not allowed to change the no of laps. A GP is always 300km
They can't refuel for 5 more laps.

@@pekay_ but thats not what he meant. Latifi crahed at lap 53. The race has 57 laps. If masi had red flaged the race at lap 54 we would have been able to see 3-4 laps of pure racing.

alot of people seem to give Perez alot of credit for Max winning the championship which is understandable but i never see anyone give Latifi the credit for making it even possible for Max to win the race towards the end since Latifi crashed.
It took me 2-3 years before I watched a single f1 race after that debacle.

Think would be fair to re judge every single race that season and apply all penalties correctly for example the over 32 track limits Lewis was able to take Bahrain and once RB started doing the same thing they overturned and told them them can’t. Lewis should have also yelled at that time the race was manipulated. But he did win so why would he go against himself
@@groundhabit6408yes but I do not believe that this benefited him, as he still needed to move over to the right of the track, meaning he would have to turn more, and bleed time. Besides, a track limits violation, no matter the amount, is far less important than an entire race manipulation. This was disgusting by the FIA. Both Lewis and max deserved this championship. Do not think I am taking sides

Lewis won that race by 0.7 of a sec … 5 sec penalty for exceeding would have placed max first
It was criminal. Just what happened. Leaving aside all the work Lewis did chasing down Max the second half of the season.
This video hurts so much. It's like revisiting a nightmare and disecting what really happened. Except, this really happened in real life and we witnessed it.

3:59 The 2018 Brazil race was more RedBull dominated until the tango with Ocon, but we had a really competitive and lively one in 2019. You forgot to mention that Sao Paulo has two long DRS straights between the S curve (just like how you analyzed Abu Dhabi). Overall, Mercedes was more dominant in the 2021 Interlagos race, with Hamilton getting a new engine. We also saw Bottas give Verstappen at bay quite well in the Sprint.

You could say many races have changed f1. Abudabi 2010 & 2016, Brazil 2007 & 2008, hockenheim 2018, San Marino 1994, 1994 Australia, and many more.. At the end of the day it's these races that shape f1 as a whole and make it special

Man, it was a messy race. It wasn't really a fair situation for LH, but he could've done so much more during the race.
He and Mercedes were too cautious about everything. He should have be more aggressive against checo, he should've pitted, he had the opportunity to have his own defensive masterclass against Verstappen to win it all, despite the bad ruling..
But he was more worried about not getting a puncture, or not being undercut, or feeling robbed already. At some point you need to get the memo and play it to win, instead of playing to not lose it.
i was so mad they didnt pit the moment lewis reached checo cause it was obvious perez was gonna give everything to stop lewis but in the end i think lewis was too scared that max would just crash on him if he defended and end up the winner because of his one win advantage
If he pitted, Max and Redbull will stay out, Then they will end the race in a safety car because max will take pver the lead, how do i know this? Because its so blatant they wanted max to win, Only the cars between them pass!? Thats absurd, Lewis Hamilton schooled max in this race, FIA kicked hamilton down
Thats why even many of max’s fans cannot fully accept their win as legit. If he overtook those lapped cars and lewis, no one can complain and he truly deserves that win. But what went down is that lewis with the faster pace the whole race had his hard worked removed and basically forced to give the championship to max.

This is an amazing first video. 2021 abu dabi was the single worst ending to a sporting event in history. How can you have a banger of a last lap when one car has brand new softs and the other has roasted hards.
I disagree. While I am a redbull fan and in belief that Hamilton was robbed from his 8th world championship I still think it was one of the most exciting seasons right up until the end. Ofcourse you can chalk that upto my biased nature but hey, in my humble opinion
