Aloe vera gel does not make it last longer than making soap without the gel. Aloe vera just adds a silkiness to the bar and nice bubbles and maybe some skin soothing properties.
Thank you, really interesting. I would like to know can we use steel bowl instead of grass?
Yes you can! Just make sure it's stainless.
I have been looking for an aloe soap recipe that uses the leaves since they grow like crazy outside. I i will try this method. I like to make my lye and water the day before I soap, I might just put enough to dissolve the lye then add the aloe. If I do that Do I still need to freeze the aloe?
If you dissolve the lye with water first then Aloe vera, it might get soo much dilluted and the soap is watery. Instead, you can freeze your aloe vera gel then mix it with sodium hydroxide and let it stay until the next day to make soap.
What about subtracting the amount at water you use to dissolve your lye from the aloe you are planning on use if so the amount of aloe/water will remain the same?
You can do a portion of the water weight in distilled water and the other portion of the water weight in aloe.
I tried using just aloe instead of water and it didn't turn out bad. But one thing I found out, aloe doesn't play nice with titanium dioxide.
Avery good recipe, I like it
This is so easy to do. Definitely worth a try. Thank you
