- Max Verstappen took a dominate pole position for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix but there was plenty of intrege particularly with Ollie Bearman making his F1 debut with Ferrari.

My prediction is Bearman will finish ahead of Sargeant in the points standings at the end of the year
Not only Seargeant I suppose.
And Alphine too😂
if he doesn't he is out on the next race as he is driving the 2nd fastest car at lest p10 minimum
@@MrBreakjunior "At the end of the season" means that Bearman will score more points during Saudi GP than Sargeant in 24 races combined.
@@MrBreakjuniorthe next race after Jeddah is in 2 Weeks. So Bearman just have this one shot because Sainz will be back for Australia.
If you can't recognize Max's skill, you're not an F1 fan. The kid is on another level.
He's on such another level, he was playing iRacing in a hotel room, streaming it on twitch WITH A PS CONTROLLER AND HE WAS COMPETITIVE. WHAT THE F#$K.
As a Danny Ric fan, he has to pick it up or he needs to hang it up.
Alot of new people in F1 do not want or care about actual racing at all. They also dont understand it, quite honestly.
For them its a popularity contest.
And max is neither a media clown nor a heavy social media user. He also has a temperament no NO FREAKING TIME for any of your bs.
Totally agree about Danny Ric. I am a fan but maybe he is better suited to punditry than driving
Oh, I absolutely recognise Max's capabilities. The consistency alone is incredible, but the fact that he pulls away from everyone like he always has 50 extra red-bull-fueled horses powering is car is insane.
Doesn't mean that I have to _enjoy_ the current circumstances. I'm forever hopeful that _someone_ will pull their finger out and actually pose Max a challenge. (Looking very hard at Perez.)
I fully recognise Verstappen's skill. I just haven't personally enjoyed his bullish driving style of "get out of the way or we crash".
@@31Blaizewhat like Hamilton used to when he drove for McLaren there's evan a quote from him saying he drove like that because he's car isn't faster enough, but guess what Hamilton and Max sorted that out when they hot a car that they could go racing with 😊

Can't wait to see what kind of strategy RB comes up with to have Yuki finish in P15 or something.
he's just washed
he is a lot better in quali than the race but he aint washed. Im a DR fan and he's done a very good job to beat him the way he has thus far @@mh518
I mean RB hired someone from Ferrari, Laurent Mekies, to be their team principal so of course he's gonna bring over some of that Ferrari strategy magic😊
Wasn't there a rumor that Lawson would get a seat sooner this year,
and the plan is that Checo will be relieved midseason, so they can promote Danny to Red Bull, leaving the empty RB seat for Lawson.
Considering the circumstances promoting Danny would look ridiculous,
I think RB will just drop Tsunoda from the program instead (because according to Lawson he beat Yuki last season and he deserve Yuki's seat)
Either way, they have no plans for Yuki in any long term.
That's why they need to make Yuki look bad compare to Danny in order to justify either decisions.

Bearman needs to get in line behind Lawson. But hey F1 says they don’t need any more seats on the grid.
Looks way better than Kmag for that Haas seat. They are Ferrari powered after all like Stake.
I believe Bearman will be driving for Haas next year.
Guenther was the one who didn't want another rookie, so Bearman would have that door opened.
Lawson will be in V-CARB (or whatever is their name) next season. He should be racing there now... but they picked PR over young talent.
in line? Lawson is a red bull team driver, not ferrari.
Why would red bull give up Lawson when they have 3, maybe 4 seats up for grabs?

Hamilton did NOT have a broken seat in Bahrain, that was confirmed by Mercedes already (and mentioned in their Q&A thing on their youtube channel).
As an Aussie Ive been a fan of Danny Ric for 10 years now, I'm fed up of these mediocre results. Half a second to Tsunoda? not good enough. He is pretty much become a Bottas taking up space on the grid doing nothing special week in week out. I dont think he'll get the drive at Red Bull next year. Time to get on the Piastri hype train.
Yup. Piastri is much likeable and quite good racer
How are you just not going to mention Bottas getting impeded by 2 drivers while he was improving? And the fact that there was no investigation even? He could have realistically been 12th on the grid but the poor man is getting everything thrown at him. Hulkenbergs, 50 second pitstops and rookies in a season with no rookies.
I think "unbelievable" is an understatement Valtteri.
Riccardo Hype train is an engine and a single trolley at this point.
Never thought Ricciardo was some sort of great driver. He was washed in Renault and in McLaren. He is very popular and great marketing asset, but i would rather see Lawson or Sainz in RBR than Daniel.
@@LednacekZat Renault he was good, McLaren is when he dropped off massively

Bearman got through in the deep end immediately with one practice session immediately into qualifying. Especially in a track like Jeddah and showing he can drive this car and has some good one-lap pace. Whatever he does in his future, whether it is F1 or not it is a bright one I think.
He did make the pole in the Prema today so that means he knows how to drive hear
I feel for Carlos I have soft spot for him and he needs a seat next year but fair play Oliver well done kid lovely to see
I certainly hope sainz gets picked up. He's a good driver, better than at least 25% of his competition.
@@brandonhoffman471225%? where did you get that percentage from😂
@sheeshman9713 well I took the bottom 25%.
Understood Sainz clearly outperformed them all on track repeatedly last season. Then felt safe with that obviously low percentage.
I'm sure he's better than a higher percentage. But that would also verify my statement as true because that is how math works.
Matt and Tom, you guys rule..I always look forward to your videos as soon as an F1 session ends
Funniest thing is that this makes LH the 15th Brit to drive for the Rossa instead of the 14th

Jedda is a terrifying track even in the F1 game. IRL I cannot imagine what that it must be like to do that first time around in a Ferrari too. Respect and good luck to Oli Bearman.

When you don’t like that a driver is dominant because it’s not a driver you like

The speed everyone's turned on Ricciardo is extraordinary.
Trashing his performance, trashing his not giving Tsunoda the place back, trashing him defending Christian Horner on International Women Day.
people were already trashing him back when he was still driving for mclaren and doing a very poor job.
Can't believe you are shock, there is a lot of people who think Ricciardo is overrated, washed and think his seat are better deserve for a much better talented F1 Driver who waiting in lines for a loooooooooong time now.
Logan Sargeant hasn't been able to show his full improvement yet. In Bahrain He got screwed up with his wheel in Quali. In the race he showed really good pace and was getting closer to Albon but his wheel died again and most likely would have the same engine cooling issues that Albon had. In Jeddah don't get me wrong he wasn't doing great but that final out lap and his lap weren't great. He could had a decent lap and still improved even though he had bassicaly the whole grid letting him by causing him to lose focus on the lap so he didn't crash into another car.. I think Sargeant could have some good race pace but we won't see until tmr.
Come on Matt, you can't say Max was Relentless, that's a rival energy drink 😂
I have always found George Russell to Do really well at adapting to a new car, or a car with trouble as in the case when he switched from Williams to Mercedes. I think Hamilton can only drive at his best when he’s 100% confident in a car.
Yeah, those years in the Williams have given Russel the ability to drive 100% in a car that he might not have complete faith in. He's used to shit boxes
i mean, he drove his worst car ever last year which was very unstable yet finished 3rd in the championship and was consistently solid throughout. But he is older now so his 1 lap pace will not be as good compared to someone like russell who is one of the quickest qualifiers but in the races, he pace is superior as we saw last week.
He beat alonso in a slower car…😂😂
@ddha0000, his pace wasn't superior last week. Before George's PU issues, he was decidedly the quicker driver. It's moreso that George out qualified cars that he shouldn't have and so naturally fell back during the race.
Without the Technical Directive, which Mercedes lobbied FIA for
Mercedes had little chance on beating Ferrari and Mclaren (two teams whose performance were greatly affected by the technical directive) last season.
I like Bearman for sure.. but people just forgot about Lawson…
Reserve drivers are signed on for a team. Lawson is part of the Red Bull / RB group. Bearman was reserve driver for Ferrari.
Bottas got mega robbed tho, up 1tenth and impåeded like crazy
I mean, you can be more talented at 16 or 18 than someone who is 25 or 35 at any thing in life

I don’t understand why we’re already talking about replacing drivers. We’re yet to have the 2nd GP! I understand the cut throat nature of the sport. But if the team would have thought they weren’t quick enough at this stage… they would have changed their driver seat pre season 🤷♂️
Checo for sure is aiming to preserve his seat. And he seems to be doing exactly that so far.

On Oliver Bearman...its not uncommon for a new rookie driver to impress on their first outing.
Nick de Vries, Liam Lawson....George Russel when he stood in for Lewis Hamilton (while still at Williams)
Jeddah is a different kettle of fish my guy, it’s the hardest track on the calendar imo
Difference is he only had a hour of testing after just doing a pole in F2
Lawson entered under similar circumstances in a very difficult weather on Sunday too...
And Nyck had to do Monza in a freaking Williams...
Imagine if RB had started imploding a few months ago... when Fred Vasseur was chasing Lewis. Would he be chasing Max instead? Remember, getting Max wouldn't just give you a really fast driver, it would also remove him from your main competitor which is arguably the bigger advantage. And with Ferrari being 2nd fastest, Fred would be thinking that's his best way of securing a WDC in 2025. So in an alternative timeline, we could have seen Verstappen in Ferrari for 2025. And would Lewis take the free RB seat after this entire RB controversy? Probably not. Fernando might. So we'd have Max in Ferrari, Fernando in RB and Lewis still in Merc... That would have been a pretty epic timeline, ngl.
Ferrari fan can only dream.... ;)
@@Akaris001I agree😅
There is no way in hell Perez in a red bull would be able to keep max in a Ferrari behind
Perhaps a switch of Lewis and Max for the rest of the year? If Marko would put on the red hat and join Mercedes? That would spice up the season and give some interesting insights in car vs driver performance. And perhaps Leclerc for 2024 WC!
I think next year Vettel will be in the place of Perez

The problem with a possible not alonso podium this time is that his long pace wasn't "normal". If you go and watch, the teams gave him instructions, like to get on traffic and stuff like that. Alongside that, he even mentioned that they team did some adjustment to better the race pace
I mean with all the BS going on around the team and around him personally Max still got pole.
The man is just a brick house.

Red Bull please dont waste a seat for this guy. There are many young talents who need and deserve F1 spot right now.
They hated this man because he speaks the truth. DR should be a commentator or something. Though unfortunately his admitted lack of knowledge of thr technical side means he'd probably not be as good as Palmer. Maybe when DC says he's done.
He should have never even gotten a seat after his time at Mclaren and after seeing the performance that Lawson put in, they should have just given him the seat instead.

Daniric is good for PR. Unfortunately, VCARB will most likely screw up Yuki's strat in the race to make him look lesser than Daniric.

There's a simple answer to the "should Oliver Bearman get a seat this year?" question - just three words.
Remember. Nyck. DeVries.
Not saying he can't do it, but one Quali does not a career make.
He would get more patience than de Vries.
First of all, he is a true rookie, 18 years old and a few seasons in feeder series. De Vries was already the same age as some experienced guys in F1, and had experience elsewhere.
And second, I just can't see Bearman or his personal team running his mouth like de Vries and his personal team did.
In case you wonder, his personal team that the 2023 season in Alpha Tauri was just a mere formality and that he would be in Red Bull for 2024, and Nyck himself said that he had "nothing to learn from Yuki". His mouth wrote a check his racecraft couldn't cash.
Bearman would be a real fool if he does the same.
Nothing you say is unreasonable.

Daniel was getting schooled last weekend as well if we are honest. Last year, Daniel wasn't dominating either. Daniel is competing against himself at RB, as Yuki's future is tied to Honda moving in 2026 to Aston Martin. But if he keeps this up, he won't be replacing Checo anytime soon unless of course Red Bull implodes and Max goes wherever Marko goes.

I don't think Bearman's performance can be overstated. Luca Badoer had years of experience in F1 and testing when he subbed. Fisichella and Salo did ok coming into that environment but they were active F1 drivers at that point...
at least Sargeant qualified P19
I think it’s more likely that Zhou or Bottas are out of F1 as Hulkenberg leaves Haas to join Stake in hopes of being an Audi driver (it was rumored Sauber were interested in Hulk & Drugovich. Therefore Haas would likely keep Magnussen and sign Bearman. Or maybe Logan is dropped and Bottas goes to Williams to end his career with the team he started.
Williams: Albon & Bottas
Stake: Hulkenberg & ?
Haas: Magnussen & Bearman
Or maybe Magnussen could find a seat elsewhere like at Williams, I could see it if none of their & Mercedes young drivers do great in F2.
bottas would have made it to Q2 he was impeded massively on his lap
Is it a difference of kg between Sonoda and Ricardo that make Sonoda faster ?
they should put matt in the ferrari next time, he'll be glued to leclercs rear no matter what
What’s more impressive? Bearman in P11 or him not picking up a drain cover?
I know you always have to take what Hamilton says with a pinch of salt, but on SKY he was saying that the Merc was still bouncing badly and almost uncontrollable in I think turns 10 onwards in the twisty section. So they maybe haven't sorted the bouncing out totally.
