An oil substitute for recipes you need to maintain moisture in, is apple sauce. Especially in baked or sautés, it does not steam off as much, and gets a bit sticky so it makes a good binder as well. Zucchini (green or yellow, grated) also works well, it has a lot of moisture and is neutral in flavor.

Quick tip to peel boiled eggs. Run them under water as you peel. Once you start peeling, the water gets into the egg and helps separate the membrane from the egg, making peeling much easier.
Tip for easy peeling hard boiled eggs! You want to get as many cracks into the shell as possible while they’re still warm, so that while they cool the egg shrinks from the shell and water fills in the empty space (at least I think that’s why works). I find the easiest way to do this is under a cold running tap gently tap them all over on the base of the sink before putting in the bowl. You don’t need to be super aggressive lots of smaller cracks works way better in my experience
Easiest way I've found is to make sure your water is boiling BEFORE you put the eggs in it. Since I started doing that, I've not had an issue with peeling them. That's for store bought, not fresh eggs.
Yes! I tap the top and bottom of the egg on the counter, then gently roll it between my hand and the counter *while still warm* and usually the shell slides right off. Some people swear by adding vinegar or baking soda to the water before boiling, but I usually don't bother🤷♀️
Pro tip: Turn your sink on to as hot as you can. Take your boiling pot straight off the stove and put directly in the sink under the running water so you've got overflow. Gradually turn the water to cold over the course of 30-45 seconds, then turn off and drain. Leave the eggs in the pot, and simply shake so they hit the pot and each other. Then pull each one out and peel. The shell peels off easily, and the egg will still be nice and warm on the inside.

😂 Ed actually mentioned why that’s the case: you always end up needing one more yolk than hard egg white. Most folks buy eggs in even numbers, which means there will be enough filling for an odd number of eggs.
@@khills I have never needed more egg yolks than what the eggs produced. The yolks were enough to fill the eggs anyway, then you add mayo, mustard, vinegar, or whatever you put in your mix, and that adds more bulk. I usually have more filling and not enough egg whites.

I know!! I was like wait...2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12....???? 15???? WTH is THAT?!
It’s so the cook can have one. lol
@@elainewood5887 Exactly! There's always one (or two) that don't make the cut.
Ali is so cute. Peter has a mustache😂😂
