New comer here and 2 things, 1) I LOVE UR EDITING STYLE. The animated persona really caught me off guard and I love the humor. 2) I hope this game continues to be developed cuz I love the potential. If you are interested, may I suggest a few things? For one, there should be a way for players to be discouraged from getting close to Judas. Instant kill is a bit boring so how about if they get close a swarm of insects starts to cover their eyes. The longer they stay, the more likely they get killed for “fucking around and finding out”. Another idea is to have the AI to randomly decide to just “watch” the player. This adds character, intelligence, and thought behind their movements. Switching between stalking to chasing and back to stalking. This way it feels less predictable. And finally, when taking a photo, the photo actually has a pixelated blur on judas so it makes sense why there are minus points. Scp Shy guy style. Anyways, loved the video and happy coding!
I have a plan to add another enemy that slowly chases the player and can't be stopped I like the scp glitch effect, though... That's a great idea :) Also, im gonna experiment with better ai systems... like having the enemy less likely to cross a path if it would cross over the players' Line Of Sight
suggestion:instead of the "you died" make a jumpscare animation whit whispers before judas kills you like "im sorry" or something to do whit the guilt of betraying to make it more sad and creepy
the wall jumping is like wierd to do, you have to be sprinting and facing into the wall for it to happen so you would just die to creepy joe but its funny that he accidentally implemented it lol
For the Search algorithm of your monster, you could simplify it by keeping track of hallway intersections, and then have the monster travel to each in order of distance from the last known location of the Player - since you're using a square-based map layout.
I think that for the gameplay to be more varied and for it to be a weping angel as you said, you should implement a scp type blinking system, because I feel that it would still be kind of funny to just see it and know that it is not going to do anything to you, instead With the blinking you should be much more careful with it and it would make the players nervous I think, still good game brother!!!
You should make it so that Judas has an anger meter( he starts out by stalking you and as you spend more time In the tomb he gets angrier and starts attacking). And as the Anger meter increases so does the amount of time he can move while your looking at him(ex. If you spent 2 mins In the tomb he can move for 4 more seconds after you look at him.)
This is a really cool project, but I'd appreciate some surface level research into the topic. Judas tried to hang himself on a tree in front of cliff, but the rope broke, and he fell, slicing his stomach open on the way down. In addition, not only did Judas betray Jesus, but he betrayed Him for money, and greed was a common theme with Judas throughout his time as a disciple. It would have been nice to have a nod to that.
Honestly, I'm kinda disappointed. I understand you didn't have time to add finer details but the lack of any biblical iconography feels cheap. At least give judas some worn era-appropriate robes The weeping angel mechanics are a bit stale. What makes this game any different from a 2014 slenderman clone? What does any of this have to do with judas and the bible?
youre right, it is pretty loose on the biblical aspect honestly that was kind of a stretch, like it takes place in Jesus' cave and features 'Judas' but its not canon Also you can see in the pecha kucha (presentation) bit that I had planned to give him some kind of robes the whole game was going to be slower and more lore / tension focussed with 3 Acts but like you said, I ran out of time
