I’m sure it it doesn’t really mean anything to you, but I’m a persistent fan, I just wanna let you know I think is a great video, I love the overlapped interview sky on Skype and the voiceover the images. It really filled up the video In the more stimulating way for the viewer. Great work man!
Phil Gaimon fair enough :) . To be clear, What I mean is , I am no film maker expert by any means ;) I do watch way a lot of RUclips content so I guess I am an expert at that, lol. Keep it up Phil. 👍🏽
Met Jed in Vegas at a software engineering conference (Ruby on Rails) about 5 years ago. We didn't have any bikes so ran instead - guess he liked Vegas!
I love this route! I've done it and others around Vegas every chance I get on a visit. That loop is great ... and then Charleston! That's a tough ride from the desert to a ski resort just outside of Vegas! My time was 2:10 I think :) Phil you rock and great to see some of my favorite rides in one video! Also Ford Transit Connect at 9:24.
I really enjoy these filmed rides of yours Phil. I subscribe to several cycling channels and yours is one of the best. Kudos to you. (P.S - I'm ordering Draft Animals for Xmas).
15:13 UNLV!!! Vegas has some good riding, just sheety drivers. Used to do the Red Rock loop. Good hill climb, and a fun downhill. Nice to see they put cones out, must be really busy theses days. My favorite ride, was at night, between the cars stuck in traffic, on the strip, from Trop to Flamingo or Spring Mountain. Oh to be young and dumb again.........
reading your book now "pro cycling on 10$ a day". Gotta say its given me a lot of insight and perspective on how much you have put into cycling. Thanks for making these videos, come steal some KOM's in Asheville NC sometime.
Jed 'the manager' still lookin out for you ....."cold? I'll get your coat" Plus he sounds like a horticulturist - Looks like a lovely guy. Great video, funny and informative. Best/Worst retirement just keeps getting better and better
Really did there van have to hog the whole road I would of flew by all there asses and those who know me know I would I came on comments to see someone say something... I dig gaiman and what he's doing but they didn't have to do that n e ways keeps riding!
I've been to Vegas far too many times, mostly for conferences. I can't gamble because I'm good at math. That said, I'd probably hang out in the casinos and soak up the high oxygen atmosphere before attempting a KOM - like some weird form of legal doping. Great video as always.
When will you come to Australia? Would love to see you attack a local mountain segment. Brisbane, Queensland. Mt Cootha and Mt Gravatt. You would probably take both in the same day 😎. And of course spend a day in Sydney and Melbourne. Love Strava.
Holy Moly, Phil. I hope that climb's not part of the LV Ultimo Fondo that I and the rest of Velofix Head office are doing in April. Best we leave Chris on the front! Great video, didn't see your toque though!
No, Baker is in San Bernardino County, but it is not in the San Bernardino Valley. The San Bernardino Valley is the area around the city of San Bernardino.
You must have some tolerance to the I-5 traffic around LA. I drove through LA traffic and don't know how you do it. Great videos though. Keep smashing the KOM's
Hey Phil, love you're videos. This one is my home town. Anyway I ride both of these rides often. Was looking at Strava for your times on both. But was unable to find them. Maybe your times have been beat. But you don't appear in the top ten for any of these places. A friend just set the up and down record at Mt Charleston of 2:03:13. I guess it's time to come back. Give us a heads up. Would love to ride out with you. Or show you some of the other rides here.
Another great podcast Phil. KOM looked a bit too easy for you though. not your usual 'challenging climbs'. but riding up through Red Rock Canyon puts another notch on your belt ;)
Oh man, that Lee Canyon highway is almost dead straight. One of the straightest mountain roads, ever. You have to come back and ride up Kyle Canyon up to the actual Mt Charleston. Almost as straight, but with a few more bends and scenery. But, yeah, stay away from The Strip.
YES...the move to block out the worst visual part of Vegas...thanks.....thought you were colluding there Phil. Red Rock is a great ride...after the 5 mile hill !...Awesome stuff, and laughing as usual....Then there is river mountain loop trail for 35 miles...completely off road...The weirdest part of being down there in December/January is the sun is shining, and it's bloody cold...messes with your need for what you wear...then there is the wind..."A deleted scene from Train spotting"...priceless
Well, you should be rested up for another, moe better attempt! ;-) I like to think of myself as a climber (72 y.o.) and would love to see your "assault" on Magazine Mt., and you can ride all of the way into Paris, eh. ;-)
@@urby1720 I ride in Henderson and Boulder City all of the time. I love that you can ride here all year long, with no snow and little rain. It just gets a little warm in the summer months. There is definitely good riding if you look for it.
I spent a year in Phoenix and Vegas is similar in that it is a giant, malignant suburb surrounded by one mile of interesting. The surrounding land is cool, but it's desolate and brown. I loved Flagstaff and I know Phil likes Tucson, but man...Vegas is the desert, humans should not live there.
Keep to cycling not politics. I hate when people ruin our escapes. Pretty simple to not film in front of Trump. Still enjoyed it. Nice views you don't expect from Vegas.
I love how people watching someone else’s RUclips channel think they have the right to edit the content. Phil can speak about whatever the eff he wants. And you can choose to watch or not watch. But don’t give him grief over his opinions or content.

The same conversation with different clips being shown was very relaxing to watch. I loved it.

15:04 always nice to see different breeds of athletes coming together and encouraging each other
best part was when you referred to the bathroom atmosphere as one that could have been deleted from Trainspotting lol. Keep it coming love your videos
I think I still hold the ascent and descent QOM on Mt. Charleston 🤔😜
I took a car down 😂
Nice last name
Hey Phil, I’ve read your books so I laughed as soon as you said “I know how to measure that”. Thanks for delivering on expectations.

Great Video Phil, very entertaining. Your take on Vegas is spot on.
Not often I hear my name, let alone from someone in my hometown. Great video as always man, really enjoying these.

Perfect attitude for dealing with Vegas. Your snark was on high alert, no doubt. Love you r vid, as always.
This was definitely one of the best Phil Gaimon Videos ever! But i think it‘s Time for some Christmas Cookies. You became really slim!
River Mountain Loop from Henderson is the best
I freaking love riding in Red Rock! The pavement is so smoooottthhhh!
Hi Phil thank you for the vlog. It’s fantastic!
Thanks for watching!
I’m sure the irony isn’t lost on you that someone choosing to live in Los Angeles slings mud at Boulder, even Las Vegas.
I can't watch with all those cars behind you.

No time on the overall climb?! Love the cookie/cocktail combo! Keep it up.
these guys that ride 20 mph up 7 percent grades kill me....they get all the kom around here too
Jed bears such a strong resemblance to Wallace Shawn that for the whole video I kept waiting for him to exclaim, "Inconceivable!"
Cool to see Mr. wendall hall went from teaching at Beverly Hills high to coaching cycling. I always wondered what happened to him.
super interesting, highly entertaining. Who knew that area was so beautiful! Cheers Phil

I'd like to say thanks, I guess, to the gentleman who discovered Phil.
What? Were going out in Vegas?!?!? Where is my striped polo! - Phil
Stars and stripes trim on Phil G might be the US Hillclimb Champ colors. Is this right? Way to go PHIL

I want to go back to Red Rock Canyon just to ride. So long as it’s not Devil’s Breath degrees.
Source Endurance getting some screen time! Adam Mills taking over cycling!
Zack Allison is my coach so I have the same kit!!!
One of your best videos to date, love the Norm McDonald reference, still waiting for some Seinfeld quotes to get peppered into a video.

Based on your experienced, what is the minimum ftp for someone to be in a world tour team?
what was the stuff you were putting on your legs?
Jed!! We miss you dude!
How fitting that on this day, I see this hahahahahahahahaha. "this is no place for a fit person" accurately describes the last four years.
PS, were you considering using the systemsix at all for this?
