    • 4 Colored Probes.
    • Phone app for set up.
    • For our comparison we only tested a nice big pork chop. All three performed as they should. More of the testing was about the convenience of using them in practical cooks.
    Summary: It really comes down to what you are looking for. I use the ChefsTemp Quad XPro anytime I am doing a longer cook when I do not want to deal with any issues on connection. Because the receiver is a stand-alone unit, it will sit where I can take a look at any time during the cook.
    The Inkbird worked fine in my setting, but I can see where connection issues and battery life would be a problem.
    The Meater+ is convenient if you are only doing one meat and don’t need to be connected all of the time. Battery can be an issue as well. The advantage this one has is it is completely wireless and works well with rotisserie. Only 1 probe for the same price as the 4 probe units.
    For the price and the features, the ChefsTemp Qud XPro would be our pick!

    The Inkbird IBBQ-4T can show you the info over 5G to your phone no matter where you are. It has both Low limit and High limit temp settings and notifications.If a probe is not accurate you can adjust the accuracy of each probe individually. Use a grate clip for a probe and that probe will show the temp inside your smoker or grill. The Base of the Inkbird acts somewhat like a wifi extender and has great range even if you are inside of your house and going thru multiple walls, etc. I have had my Inkbird IBBQ-4T for about a year and have never had a problem with it.

      Thanks for your insight on the Inkbird Tom! I did not have any issues connecting the Inkbird, but I have had problems with other devices that only connect on 2.4 and not a mesh system. It does seem like a nice unit! Always great to have someone comment that has the experience with the products we show/test! Cheers!

      @@beers-jackofbbqthe easy workaround I find is to setup a 2.4Ghz guest network, and once its set up, you can go back to using the normal network for your phone.

    Great comparison video. I like Quad XPro better. As I know, Quad XPro uses RF transmissions which makes it have a stable connectivity. A lot of my BBQ friends love ChefsTemps product!

    Nice comparison video..... One thing to add for the Meater+.... most people complain about the range and do not know how to set it up for wifi. If you have an iPad to put in the chain near the block you can monitor your Meater+ anywhere. Meater+ probe communicates with the block, block communicates via bluetooth to the iPad, iPad wifi to the internet and internet to your phone. You can leave the house, go to the grocery store and still see live data from the Meater+ on your phone when set up this way. Most people just try the bluetooth to their phone and get frustrated that the range is not good and bash the product. Try it for your next rotisserie cook! Works on old cheap ipads too that don't cost much. That said I just received my Thermoworks Signals which has wifi directly to my home router and am looking forward to trying it. Nice video as always, cheers!

      Thanks as always for watching! I have seen that before, but never tried it with the Meater when I do rotisserie. Cheers!

    Thanks for the video. I think Meater+ has the best app. For bang for the buck, Wi-Fi and check anywhere ability without daisy chaining devices you can't beat the Inkbird, but the app sucks. It's a mutli purpose app, not dedicated to just the probe like the Meater+ and it's easy to tell it was designed by people who speak a language other than English. I have no experience with the Quad Pro, but it looks a bit busy both on the display and the fact that there's two devices, plus no smartphone capability apparently? Of what I've tried I like the Meater+ the best because of it's simplicity, it's wireless and it's app.

      Appreciate the feedback! It is always nice to hear other opinions! I agree with you on Meater, their app is very simple to use. I have the Meater Block as well and that seems to just shut off at times and goes through batteries pretty quick. I also have the MeatStick and I like the probes better, but the app keeps me from using it more. Also for Inkbird, for the cost and the connectivity it worked nice, but app is not as user friendly! The Quad pro is nice when you have multiple things on the grill and you plan to just hang out for the day, which is what I always do. I usually never leave the house when I have a grill running. More and more, I am only using probes that have the phone connectivity so I can just check when I want or get an alert when I need to do something. ChefsTemp has a Kickstarter for a wireless probe that connects to your phone, we will be getting one of those to review in the future! Cheers!

    Is there a digital thermometer that I can tell temperature inside the BBQ form my phone MEATER Plus can you just leave it inside the BBQ without any meet

    • @beers-jackofbbq
      @beers-jackofbbq  2 года назад +1

      Probes like the Meater+ cannot be used without meat according to the limitations on how much heat the front of the probe can take, website says 212F for the front and 572F for the ambient tamps. The Inkbird we show here can be used to just leave on the grill. I have seen some others like this that will connect to your phone through Bluetooth and some with Wi-Fi. Did a quick search on Amazon and saw a few of them like Thermopro as well. This Wi-Fi unit only connect on 2.4 ghz, my system here is a mesh system and usually does not work well with 2.4, but this one connected for me. Hope that helps! Cheers!

      @beers-jackofbbq  2 года назад

      Sorry I miss understood. The ChefsTemp that we show here is a digital with wired probes and one is made for the grill grate and the others can go into the meat you are cooking. This plugs into the main unit where you set temps and alarms. Then you have a receiver that can be up to 500 feet away and will show you what the grill is doing. Hope that answers it?

      Yes, that is the benefit of the Meater+, but you also pay for that convenience. When I am doing my long weekend cooks, I use the wired probes so I don’t have to worry about the connection. Thanks for watching! Cheers!
