    Great informative video
I have the +. If I get the 2+. Can I share the app with both or is the +. Now redundant?

Hi Wayne, do you mean whether the two devices can co-exist in the app together? Yes, they'll be listed as separate probes.

Your connection range test was impressive, except that, I don’t ever recall cooking a meat on the surface of a deck. Typically, it’s either in an over or a BBQ, which are made of various types of metal. Metal which interferes with wireless technologies. The biggest complaint I’ve seen is disconnects while cooking something. If you’re going to do a range test, do a real life range test. Not one that is pretty much guaranteed to be successful.

Thanks so much for your feedback - totally valid points. I was definitely thinking about sticking the probe in a large slab of meat on the deck for this, lol. I usually cook on the firepit, but even though it's technically Spring, Maine still has snow and ice, so outdoor cooking gear is still packed away. Still, since the Meater has BT 5.2, I subjected it to the same test I do for my headphone/earbud reviews. With 5.2, the signal USUALLY becomes problematic around 40-45ft (i.e. near the second side window of my house, per the video). The disconnects during cooking that you mentioned for the Meater -- I've also seen similar behaviors on the Dreo and Typhur fryers, both of which use Wi-Fi. Maybe ultimately it's app optimization that might be causing connection/snooze issues?

Remember, the thermometer communicates to the charger and your charger communicates to your phone. So thermometer inside a metal grill has no impact on the Bluetooth connection to your phone...

@@Cleofizoid yet if you look at the reviews the complaints abound on it not connecting well.

Meater 2 its a total crap! Its Algorithm is not precise at all! I set Target Temp on the Ribeye at 56c and when it reaches 50c it asks me to Remove the Meat from the heat. I immediately remove the meat from the heat and it continues cooking it far further than the 56c Target I had inserted at the beggining. It keeps cooking during the Resting period and at the end when it says Cook Done its already 65 degrees, overcooked and for the bin. I paid 100 Euros for this piece of junk metal with Wifi capabilities. Totally useless and paid by my own hard earned money...

      Poor baby 😭
Perhaps your hard earned money would have been better spent on basic cooking lessons, or maybe a pacifier to help soothe your crying. “Your own hard earned money” seriously, who’s hard earned money do you think should have paid for it.

@@michaelbrand4654 that’s the reality for the Meater hanging in my kitchen. The subject here is not my hard earned money but how untrustworthy this hardware really is. Now continue yr lessons about life…

Bummer to hear about your experience. It's normal for meat to cook a little more while resting, but almost 10C is crazy high. Have you reached out to their CS about this?

@@TheNonTechieTechShow yes man this my personal experience buying three of this needles, not one. I have no personal benefit of bad mouthing a product i paid for x 3 to get some satisfaction while grilling my beefs. Whats the point to reach the support? It simply not working as intended. I have so many other needles with cord and all working perfectly! Even the IKEA cheap one…

Yep. Look at the reviews, it all looks good on paper, but this one is not reliable considering the 30% increase of price over the meater +
