Your living in a dream if you think cars are going to give way to a motorcycle every time, you learn to avoid them. Its no use laying on the road using one of your feet as a pillow and saying I had right of way. I developed a sixth sense by watching the car or even looking at the driver. I'm not saying it worked every time as a few cars tricked me, I still carry the scars. another way to stay alive is practicing panic stopping, know your brakes and how to use them. I am 71 now so have lost a lot of this but still love motorcycles.
The only way to stay safe on a bike is to assume nobody can see you and are about to do something completely stupid, then continually plan ahead what you will do to compensate.
@@neiljohnson8589 I rode that way for years, right up until I was rammed from the rear by a 4x4 whilst I was stationary at a roundabout giving way to another vehicle. The 4x4 must have sped up to try and avoid having to stop for this other vehicle, and I just wasn't part of the picture, until I was, and laid on the road some metres ahead after having been launched, but not before the back of my helmet smacked his bonnet and my shoulder took out one of his headlights.
Good defensive riding on your RT. The one that stands out for me was the white Jeep that cut into your lane without looking at the traffic light right hand filter. Fortunately your observations were good enough to take avoiding action, otherwise a nasty crash!
Talking to a Traffic cop a few weeks ago he said they know that people in cars look out for another car especially at roundabouts an junctions an a bike just doesn't register to the brain or catch the eye as their looking for a car. Scary..
The biker guy was just havin fun we all do it and know the risks 😀 don’t get too annoyed with ppl most drivers are dickheads I’ve made a few mistakes on my bike and in the car too it happens
Looks like just another average day as a motorcycle rider. Us two wheeled warriors are constantly surrounded by idiots in cages. Part of the fun is dodging round them. You made a mistake yourself. You forgot to kick the wing mirror off the white jeep before speeding away.
I agree with Marcin's comments below, a typical day on British roads. In the UK drivers are taught to pass the test, not to drive well and it shows more and more. I saw a good one a few weeks back when a driver, fed up with waiting at a roundabout, used the cycle lane with 2 wheels on the kerb to get to the front and pushed out onto the roundabout, attempting to get between 2 trucks. He was obviously never taught blind spots because the second truck didn't see him and crushed him against the first, there were smashed mirrors and bumpers everywhere. It gave the rest of us at the roundabout a good laugh and brightened up a tedious trip. Ride safe, oh you already do. Mark - Moto Guzzi Stelvio.
First guy... if he kept doing this, at some point I would stop next to him and ask if he noticed that it's not making him any faster. Since we kept taking the right turns and still ended up right behind him.
wow. It's a compilation of what we all see day after day... I probably wouldnt have nailed it it in front of the small white van. Youre in the right but you would have been dead right...as my old driving instructer would have said!
Like the commentary, far more polite than I would be. Unfortunately there are many drivers out there that shouldn't even be allowed behind a wheel. I also find it really annoying when someone pulls out just in front of you to take the next turning. All of them in a hurry to get to nowhere.
It could be that that was the only gap present. It's not clear on the video if the road behind this rider was clear or a long snake of vehicles with no suitable entry point for a vehicle to join the flow.
I have to be honest. I was brought up in the UK and moved to America and drivers over here have no respect for motorcycles. Very dangerous and intentional at times. I also ride the 1200RT…awesome bike ❤️
Not having a knock at Americans (am happily married to one!), but the standard of driving over there is poor, indicators are optional the best of times
If you believe in god & instant karma here's the proof: after my negative reply last week and mean 'go get a real bike' comment, a car cut right across me and I smashed into its side 🤕. Broke some ribs and got a couple of nasty bruises. Hadn't had an accident on the bike for years. I apologize to all mighty gods and to all RT owners for what I said 😇 P.s boxer engine saved my leg, took most of the impact
Er on Wally no1 I think you can overtake a cyclist on double white lines…. If it safe to do so…..going over the lights an cutting back is a bit annoying for everyone 🙄
Same in Germany. Many car drivers have tought me to be on alert constantly. They seem to be the natural enemy of the biker, cause they do everting, but not driving. Their subconscious seems to tell them: "I'm stronger, better protected as you, biker. I do have more rights as you." I never expect common sense or gentle behavior.
Ive bern riding since 1973, in 1980 I went to live in Australia, & on my return to Wales permanently in 2005 my mate warned how things had changed, oh he was so right. I bought a Harley-Davidson Fatboy lo in 2017 & have nearly been knocked off loads of times, all at roundabouts , I mean how easy is it -- give way to the right. When I go out for a ride Im always gritting my teeth, if these idiots knockrd me off Id have over 750lb on top of me, perish the thought. All the best & thanks for a great video 👍
I moved to Wales from Bristol 5 years ago, I cannot believe how bad the driving is. Like you I go out for a ride expecting the worst. I always head off into deserted countryside when I can, it's much safer, I even bought an Adventure bike so that I can enjoy the scenery and the peace and quiet more.
I remember going to France on my motorcycle in 1978 for a few weeks. The shock when I returned to the UK it was like coming to kamikaze world. I'd forgotten just how bad driving is in the UK.
No offence please, but here in Slovakia, you can meet idiots like these in a single day. And not only ten....fifteen... The biggest problem is I am an obstacle on the road everytime I adhere speedlimits. What I see on your footage I would name a nice day. Yes I know, you probable say: oh man, eastern europe, you are hundred years back ......and....I must say, you are right. What here is a "normal", is in the GB unacceptable. It's funny, both you and us, have very similar traffic regulations. But here they are being broken all the time by many bmw-mercedes-porsche car drivers. Or by just idiots... Stay safe, enjoy Beemer, it's perfection itself. Thanx for your video....
They're not an optional rule, they're mandatory and there for a reason. If you get stuck behind something slow moving you just have to suck it up and be patient.
Gotta be no.11 for me. Going through junctions like that is inevitably going to end badly for him and the poor sod he smashes into. No leathers either, so maybe he's invincible. 🤣🤣
Bell End? Is that a campanology term? 😊The UK's roads seem to be increasingly awash with oversized 'SUVs' with oblivious wannabee WAG drivers and trainee web influencers who can barely see over the dashboard and are too busy pouting in the interior mirror to even begin to be aware of other road users.
They aren’t looking at the mirror. They are looking at their phone. Most have it sat on their lap (so no one can see it). They are easy to spot, the vehicle is moving and they are looking directly down.
A 'Bell End' = euphemism for the male sexual organ. Obviously the offending driver was male. I would love a locomotive horn on my bike. That would take their attention away from their phones.
Lovely to see so many familiar roads. And I admire your restraint. I did some advanced rider training about 20 years ago with an IAM rider based at Newport, near Audley End... Lovely part of the world, brilliant rider and very patient trainer too... Sad to see the general decline in driving skills... a generational thing perhaps...?
All quite normal, well for 4 wheelers , you've got to understand they are probably texting and drinking tea from a cup they bought out of the house with them .For me No1 idiot was the one who came straight across a junction into the bloody side of my bike cutting short my french road trip
Its probably a good thing Idiot 11 had a rather noisy exhaust on.. imagine if that had been one of those electric motorcycles.. one may have had difficulty seeing them coming as their speed was rather quick !
We forget that being riders, we have better observation than most people. A lot of these are just regular drivers being regular drivers (ie bell-ends)..

There's a few there that I would disagree as being stupid.
Granted some of them are proper dodgy, but on many it’s just drivers being idiots which is pretty standard nowadays.
Yeah, retard alert is not even `alert` these days, it's normal
the perfect world u expect doesn't exist
I expect all of those in one day 🙄
7:11 double whites but a completely straight road with clear view. Just because it's the law, it doesn't make you an idiot for breaking it.
Whatever you do, don't ever drive in Naples Italy. You'll have a stroke.

I always used to fit a pair of Fiamm horns first thing on buying a new bike.
That white van driver - you get that all the time - i am always ready now...
My main takeaway from this video is that if they put in real full size roundabouts in the US, everyone will die.
As a biker myself I always think of a saying my father had. "You can't manage stupid"
Im sad to hear your father talked too you like that!
when you ride a bike, you need to think for everyone!
Hardly dramatic
Dear me....they looked prettt good compared ro some i see
Sir, never take that bike to Spain. I live and ride in Spain Now and the drivers you showed here are saints compared to the Spanish.

I live in the NW of England - I'd gladly swap my idiots for yours. 😂
After 50 years of almost continuous motorcycle use my vote for worst offender goes to No6(?), the fud crossing the solid whites. 🤷♂️
Unfortunately it is no longer the "highway code" but rather the "My Way Code". You are first after me!
Absolutely agree.

But fair play if you can get people to see this normal stuff.....
Seen far worse
Just looks like a normal day on roads in Brisbane Queensland
This is remarkable that the rider only encountered 15 idiots. I would have expected a lot more with the state of driving on the roads these days.
I can't help but notice you stopped at IWM Duxford ;)
Er on Wally no1 I think you can overtake a cyclist on double white lines…. If it safe to do so…..going over the lights an cutting back is a bit annoying for everyone 🙄
According to the Highway code, its ok to pass cyclists and horses on a solid line, assuming they are traveling at 10mph or less
@@Borderman47 No it's not, you can cross a solid white line if it's to pass a slow moving vehicle (10mph)

you did excellent on avoidance. for what it's worth, here in the US, it's the same. cagers, don't care

If you think that the drivers over in England are bad you should try riding here in Ireland . Bikers dont stand a chance .
Dont ride in New Zealand mate. This stuff happens at every intersection 😂. Road rules are optional here it seems.

White Corsa bellend takes the prize for me. He was really putting some effort in - quite imaginative 😂
They were all Bellends.
