    Your problem with this ride is that you're basically riding in a straight line; when you test any bike in that way then it wouldn't matter what bike you're on, you're always going to get the same result. You need to ride the RT in the bends, hills and curves; when you do that, you will appreciate the capabilities of the bike in its correct environment;. You'll also be constantly searching in the rear view mirrors for that 900lb HD thats somewhere way way way behind you. PS the seat hight is adjustable.

    I've been driving this RT for years. Lots of Black Forest, Alpine passes, Lake Garda, southern France, Scotland, etc. I always travel with two people. This BMW is a full dresser. The BMW drives on the highway like a car. 2 people and luggage with a full load can have a lot of fun on crazy pass curves. The engine thrust , braking system and chassis are absolutely bulletproof. The boxer is still missing a few horsepower

    I ride an RT, it's an incredible bike. Big, but so easy. It's a cops bike. With engine guards you can install highway pegs no problem. But I also get the appeal of HD. I guess we all need more than one bike. Cool video by the way.

    Hi Sandy. I,be had 2 RTs and they are fantastic bikes. You can be fully loaded with pillion and still throw it around the Alps like a sports bike. I’ve moved to HD and have a low rider ST to slow myself down. Lovely bike and totally different riding experience but it’s the most expensive but most basic bike I,ve ever bought. Whilst I love the experience, HD must up their game as they will be left behind, especially in Europe. Pillion foot pegs an extra….really!

    I've been riding motorcycles for 60 years now and have ridden just about every kind of bike there is. I have owned 5 Harleys, currently have 2, a 1984 Sportster and a 2017 Ultra Limited. These are two out of 5 Harley Davidson's I've owned and am currently on my 2nd BMW which is a 2015 R1200RT. While I realize your review is based on your limited experience with this bike the video belies your inexperience with BMW Mototcycles. A short 200 mile jaunt is not nearly enough time to learn this motorcycle or really any motorcycle for that matter. IMHO you do it a great disservice with such a review. It isn't comparable to any Harley and vice versa. They are totally different in every way. All of that said...not a bad video....satay safe!!

    Having a Heritage, a Springer Softail, a 883 and having thousands of miles on a Road Glide, I ride my BMW R1250Rt much more than the Harleys. Don’t get me wrong, the HD’s have a certain feel to them however, if I’m honest with myself, for true motorcycle riding, the RT easily wins. I agree, the stereo sucks

    Having owned a 2017 RT as well as a 2020 1250 which is smoother and noticeable more powerful, the RT's are one of the easiest and most fun touring bikes I have owned in the last 55 years of riding. Highway pegs are easily attached to the crash bars and make day long rides much more comfortable. Put risers on the handle bars also improves the comfort. I am not a fan of the sound or the feel of the engine, but when your on the road for a week or two at a time as I am, the sound is just noise and the feeling becomes useless. The ease of handling, the seem less power and plenty of it, top of the line brakes/suspension and storage has been one of my favorite long distant tours, plus it extremely nimble in city driving

    I rode Harley’s for many years and in 2012 I rode the R1200RT and I’ve never been back on a Harley. The 1250 is even better ❤️ if you have the engine guards you can put highway pegs on the bike. The RT is the number one bike in the world for touring bikes and number two is the Adventure style RT called the BMW GS or GSA. The GS or GSA are more upright sitting position. I put the bar risers and lowering peg kit on my R1200RT and it provides a more upright sitting position.

    I have a '22 FXLRS and a '16 R1200RT. The H-D sound, feel and style is pure therapy. The stock riding position on the FXLRS is silly - high knees and long reach to bars. The 1200RT is superior in technology, comfort, handling and performance. For 4 hours of local fun, the H-D is better. For a multi-day trip, the RT is better. Riding a big H-D V-Twin with loud pipes on a multi-day trip, no thanks.

  • @Boxer1250RT
    @Boxer1250RT Год назад +1

    You know what happens with the White RT? People think that you're a Cop. I noticed that when I am behind cars as most drivers slow down :) 1250 is a more refined bike with the huge 10" TFT. It is much easier to ride and more nimble than the GS, GSA, R18 and the K 1600 bikes. Whatever BMW did to the aerodynamics of the RT, as you get up the highway speeds, the bike gets more downforce unlike many other bikes that get the lift effect. Great video! Cheers!

    these are amazing to ride, and so safe and predictable. I have so much confident in my bmw.
    you can buy high-way pegs for the bmw 1200rt's that bolt on to the external bike chassis frame?

    I thought your review was accurate from a novice view point. The thought you'd be spent after 3 hours, is off. I rode over a thousand miles in under 18 hours on my RT, easy peasy. In addition to the other mods, mentioned for the RT, you can easily stand on the pegs at highway speeds. I recently wanted to buy a full dress Indian, Harley. I could not stand the seating position. The RT has spoiled me. Keep up the great video's!

  • @andyfoley6906

    Great video Sandy! The Beemer is light years ahead of Harley technology. And that boxer engine combined with the shaft drive is smooth as butter. But the riding position just doesn’t work for me on a long ride as you mentioned. My brother Jimmy rides a 2006 R1200 R/T which he bought new and has ridden cross country on many occasions. I’m sure he would question our opinions on distance comfort. But he’ll admit, nothing has the sound of a Harley and the culture it has. Enjoyed the ride my brother! Peace ✌🏻 out!

    Unless you feel that you MUST have a Harley because of peer pressure, club rules like to make noise, pretend you are somebody you are not or some Ego thing, why HARLEY anyway? I have had Harleys for years and some of the above were for that reason. Just sold a 1 year old 2022 ST Street Glide that I bought new. Can not even hear the thing, throttle response is terrible, cable clutch never felt right and lever would jump back at you, gear indicator is blank when I need to see it, need new mufflers, tuner, shocks would be nice, rear cylinder runs real hot, uses oil every 500 miles or so and was told was normal. Being in California you have to BOOT LEG the things in to make it run right because vendors will not ship to California. Yes it is fun to modify a Harley but all people talk about is more sound, power, need bigger motor and the list goes on. So sold it and got a BMW 1250 GSA and it is just wonderful. Will do everything, has everything you could want and more, does not burn up oil like the Harley, runs great, throttle is great, cooling great and the insurance was HALF of what the Harley was. Pretty much done with Harleys. May get a BMW 1250 RT like the cops ride. No reason to do hours of training for ''U'' turns because unlike the Harley this thing is just so easy. Plus if you go to the Daily City Hells Angels club house in Palo Alto, you will see more than a few members with the BMW 1600 Bagger and another member Rides a Gold wing and of coarse many know the Late Sonny Barger hated Haley and rode Indian as some others do also. So its not just me.
