The 1.5 LFV has a known flaw in its original head gasket design. Mid 2022 I decided to replace it. The mechanic messed up the process, what ensued after that was nothing short of a headache. Solved all of the issues ‘except’ the P06DE. I’ve been following your videos for some time now, finally decided to pull the trigger and went in to replace the tensioner gasket today. It was in pristine condition, no nicks or damages. I also replaced the oil pump assembly with the oil pump control solenoid sensor, currently in the process of assembling everything back together. I’ll drop an update tomorrow what pressure is the vehicle holding on to. 😅
any updates?
Updates?
My wife's 2018 Malibu LT 1.5 just gave her this code on the highway. It's making a ticking sound when accelerating at low rpm. It's on engine power reduce (limp mode) I took it for a short ride, coming to a stop screen said "low oil pressure turn off engine." I'll order new filter and replace oil to give update. My first impression was oil pump went bad.
This has been so helpful. I have a 2015 Buick Regal with the same engine with this code. I have been chasing this thing down for weeks. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Glad that it helped
Very thorough. A master of his craft.
Thanks
I have Opel Insignia 2016 2.0 diesel with the same problem. Still chasing it. Replaced solenoid valve and oil with filter so far. This started right after cam chain break (luckily no damage to camsafts, valves and so on). My mechanic has replaced cam chain with tensioner and this error code has appeared. Have no clue what's happening. There are no gaskets in cam chain tensioner that could be potentially be misplaced. So may be it's high pressure oil leak in new tensioner or it was installed inapropriately.
Thanks for the video
No problem
Did u figure this out? I've got same issue. Need to get it fixed. Can't keep clearing the codes to get it out of reduced engine power.
So was the gasket put on backwards or was it damaged
damaged. end of this video has pictures sent from customer
I guess I missed it, what was the conclusion or what fixed it?
The tensioner gasket from timing was faulty
Tensioner gasket
Awsome video! Very helpful
Thanks
You think this applies for high oil pressure and the solenoid being stuck of
I don't think so
Very cool!
Good investigation..!
Thanks
I’m having this issue with my 2018 Malibu. Oil pressure is good at idle and while driving. But code comes on a reduced power and drives fine. I’m confused on what’s going on.
did you watch both parts of this video?
Did you ever get it fixed? Mines a 2016 and same issue. He said it was a damaged tensioner gasket. Was it for you?
@@JayPoster490did you get yours fixed?
@@shawnmc964 yes. Turns out it was oil pump solenoid. Replaced it and along with that came a new oil pan plus oil change. Problem went away.
@@JayPoster490 did you only have the p068 code?
I have a 2018 Equinox 1.5L Turob I cant even find the oil pressure sensor hard to locate. No information on the P06DE error. I just put new oil in it and drove it for 1 day the error came back. I have a Innova 3170RS scanner but cant find where to watch the oil pressor on it and the equinox has no oil pressor display for some reason.
it looks like its above the starter motor
Nice video
You didnt show actually taking the solenoid off. -_-
I'm not a mechanic. I'm a diagnostician
Top man
Thanks

Part 1 where you showing where porcini seen both parts
well done .
Thanks
I have the same code on 2017 Chevrolet volt but also my infotainment screen is black. The backup camera works. Blinker works but does not make the sound. This seems like an electrical issue to me. Do you think it's related to the fuse you mentioned in the first video?
I won't be able to tell without a diagram. sorry
Did your issue go away ,I think it's the oil pressure solenoid
Yes never came back
@@DallasAutoDiag so it was code p06DE and salutations was oil pressure solenoid
@@rohanboswell5408 did you watch both videos?
@@DallasAutoDiag no didn't have time ,I found out the customer had no oil in the car ,he was trying to blame me , because I have changed the brake vacuum pump 4 days before ,,
@@rohanboswell5408 I don't think this is related
Hey they said my Malibu have the same codes but I’m lost on what parts I should buy
Did you watch part 1 and part 2?
I bought the oil pressure switch is that right part can I get your number
Sir have you tried fixing car paking senor(clean parking sensor),always keep on beeping on the dashboard
Did you try to replace the sensor?
@@DallasAutoDiag yes sir i did replace, however initially the fault was rear center left (RCL),after changing the RCL sensor, now it is showing RCR,I have ordered another sensor, it should reach in a day or two,ill update you sir
I don't have anybody I can trust to fix this on my car sound like the same thing that's going on my carpet. I've never had the old pan dropped but is there any way you can help me?
Where do you live?

I recently did a major engine repair with error code P1101 ( replaced pcv orifice) after the fix I’m seeing error code P06DE mechanic was suggesting me to replace oil pump first, and then possibly engine. Any suggestions, Did my mechanic haven’t installed the tensioner gasket properly which is causing the error code P06DE
Could be
What was the solution to code p06de?
So mine gets stuck in gear when attempting to floor the gas the rpm’s go up but you have to let off the gas for it to shift what could that be ?
That's what I'm getting right now. I changed the 02 sensor since it said that was bad. But it's still happening. I'm getting both catalytic converters changed this weekend. 😒
@@24BlackMamba8 lmk how that goes ! Ian even wanna take it to the Chevy dealership cause that shit be tryna charge too much for simple ass shit
@@karajohnson6588 yeah if it is the catalytic converter is going to be expensive AF anywhere you go unfortunately.
@@24BlackMamba8 damn so did you replace them ?
@@24BlackMamba8 did you ever have a code po6DE pop up ?
What is the name of the part?
glad it helped
Where is the oil pump control valve
You have to pull the oil pan down and oil pump down it’s inside the oil pain with the pump
