    Yo save me hours of my life !
    I'm a mechanic and I thought I was going to remove the engine because sometimes the rear main seal has 2 bolt that ataches the plate to the upper oil pan in parallel to the crankshaft and requires to detach the engine from the transmission.
    I loved this video !!
    Thanks

    • @MountainmanBuildz

      The solenoid doesnt affect bad oil pressure, it burns and gets stuck. So the code is just to replace the solenoid

    • @chaselesser3191
      @chaselesser3191 9 месяцев назад

      Does the oil pressure switch from low to high, at higher RPMs? Thats why there is a Solenoid, for it to switch up the pressure. But you should have Good low pressure, it would just fail to engage the higher pressure.

    I have had a problem with 2018 charger 3.6 oil pump solenoid stuck on high. First off always use the recommended 5/20 oil, not the approved 5/30 alternate. Also make sure never overfilled. I have found that adding 1/2 quart of dexron atf to the engine oil and exercising the solenoid by warming up, then quickly reving the engine and hold at 3000 rpm then watching the pressure drop. Return to idle then repeat. Doing this several times has proven for me at this time to unstick the solenoid and engine light goes away. This may also work for stuck on low? I will be adding 1/2 quart of dexron atf to my oil at each oil change from now on unless the problem returns again. Dexron ATF is a highly detergent lubricant and is safe to add in your oil unless you have an old motor with sludge buildup.

    • @MountainmanBuildz

      I drove mine for a year with the error popping up at random. Unfortunely the coil inside the solenoid burns and pack up, so the problem gets worse over time. It doesnt physically get stuck, its more the coil that just have no more power to open up and the ecm picks up the low/high resistance and then throws errors

    • @AlexiDaGreat
      @AlexiDaGreat 24 дня назад

      @MountainmanBuildz I've had the lifter noise but this from the bottom. I've got misfires too and a very sluggish acceleration from a stop with bubbling noises. I replaced oil filter/cooler assembly, coils, spark plugs, O2 sensors. A mechanic told me I don't have a blown head gasket prior to replacing all those parts

    • @MountainmanBuildz

      @@MountainmanBuildz I know... It's frustrating. He did compression tests and didn't replace a coil where the misfire was coming from because the hold down bolt was stripped so I took it upon myself with a Dremel, left that bolt in and replaced that coil and spark plug, thought it'd do it. I want to fix the misfire so I can trade it in for an Slk55 Amg. I think I'm gonna do the oil pump myself next weekend if it survives till then, it's all I got to get to work an hour away 😮‍💨
