I was not expecting this -- very thought provoking!
I feel so comfortable someone asking me questions and stop talking for so long!!!!!
My best day look like trying yummy food, getting alot of work done, having meaningful conversation.
Though some thought his staccato, nervous breathing was distracting, I think it breathed more life into it. Close your eyes and “listen” again. Life speaking affirmations to the ears that hear the questions, especially the ones that provoke thoughts. 🙌☝️
For me the distracting was people who were clearing their freaking throats or coughing all the time.
Neil is so incredibly wise and thought provoking. One minute in and I'm hanging on the edge of my seat. I love the idea of being a baton passer. What excellent philosophical questions. Gave me good chills. Thank you - again.
You should rather seek professional therapy. You sound like a disciple of a personality cult. That's not healthy, sitting mesmerised on the edge of yer seat, getting chills just from what a person, who can't know any more about you or life than you do, is condescendingly mansplaining to you, what you should do in yer life or how ye should do it. As if you didn't already know that yerself, but if you do, then read above again, first sentence.
I really love this. Neil nailed it with the little (and big) questions that we should ask ourselves to keep perspective. It's so easy to lose perspective, but maybe it's the little (big) questions that can keep us grounded?
Thanks Neil! Great work. I plan on sharing with all of my communities!
Like it. my son in law sent me the link. as someone said above, a lot of mind-provoking thoughts, that can help us put our lives in perspective and make the most out of the short precious time each of us is alotted.
Above are my first impressions, thoughts that came to mind as i watched the video
Thank you Neil, I enjoyed this immensely. I stumbled across this just when I needed it most - funny that......
amazing. listen to it with your eyes closed.
Amazing moments between words Neil!
Maybe we all need to start asking more questions. Great exploration Neil.
Amazingly thought provoking! Reminds me that the words “LISTEN & SILENT” have the same letters.
I don't have the patience for the silent moments. He pauses for so long. god I need to work on my patience
His pauses are very long to be honest
Same here buddy 😂🤣 I was checking if my network is working properly.
My fortune cookie last night (yes, Chinese food Xmas night!) no joke said..."Be calm and collected, peace is a virtue." I wish you all peace and calmness friends.
This means not ready for someone to be present with you fully
I really enjoyed this talk, er, listen. The pauses were terrific; the music added to his passionate queries. Wonderful for contemplation.
Not at all, let’s feel all our feelings , be real human, vulnerable
Thank you, I offer you INEFFABLE Love and Kindness, Sacred Fire Light exponentialized
That was really cool
Best Ted talk ever
Why?
Make wise choices and indulge healthy habits if you can, and what will be, will be.
When he said why does the year 2000 feel closer than 2032, as a millennial that hit me.
The best video!
Quite philosophical.
OMG the music... This is like a parody of an inspirational speech.
too much for that single brain cell i'm guessing
It actually is an inspirational speech...
Psalm 31:14-15 ESV
But I trust in you, O Lord; I say, “You are my God.” My times are in your hand;
Yikes. Too much use of silence. Turn on the captions to read this TED talk of questions, and skip the awkward pauses.
people who don't like the use of silence are usually scared of what they'll find - or in your case it seems "won't' find
A lot of questions worth pondering. But a hodge podge, disconcerting disconnected.
While I think he pauses to give us time to reflect I think he forgotten most of us can think faster then talk. It drove me nuts personally.
oh my, music and presentation was too much. no flow bro. - pass the baton!
This might have been bearable, perhaps even interesting or intriguing, had he not sounded as though he were verging on a heart attack. As it was I found it - well the word used earlier is cringe worthy which about sums it up.
Nothing mind provoking about this. Just a ego trip. How to maximize your tiny short life? Really? Lets get little more deeper, who is this "I" you so concerned about, and who is the one concerned for its time and fulfillment? Why do we know nothing of death yet make it out to be a bad thing? When what you know of it based on people who have died and come back saying death is not a bad thing at all. So why do we put such importance on life and who is the one putting the importance on it? Who are you really? Life is simple and always has been. How to maximize your life? Do whatever the hell you want like every one has always been doing, and some choose to die because that's what they want. And no dieing is not a bad thing, especially when one chooses it him self and not some one else for him.
Of course death isn't bad, but not living your life to the fullest is.
Quote from shakespeare, there is no good or bad, it is the mind that makes it so. If anything we should be focusing more on breaking free from conditioning. We are all conditioned to think certain ways based on how we are brought up or what environment we live in. Thus free will is not so free, unless we learn to break free from conditioning, if you want to live life to fullest, that would be where you want to start.
This is cringeworthy...
that reminds me...how's your mum
Good content but maan this guy pauses for way too long, way too often. Had to shut it down half way through. The pausing is cringe worthy..
I am here to say-- that ANY talk on a "good life" that does NOT include the name, "JESUS CHRIST"-- is lost, and missing the Greatest Person of all time for your happiness and meaning.
Call out to God today. Go to a great local Christian church if you are honestly seeking... God will bless your faith in trying to seek Him, and you WILL feel the drawing as you make moves toward Christianity. Go to a Christian Church. Try singing the worship songs with all honesty. SEEK this God named JESUS! He WILL reveal Himself to you!!!
He forgot to ask the most important question of all >>>
What if none of all his questions doesn't matter at all?
Thats what was my question at the end... :)
Then all his questions matter (and you’re eluded by logic).
OK, well, this is a new low for TED talks. Sigh...
anyone who types "sigh" can't get any lower
This is cringeworthy...
hahaha
the "hahaha" bit you added really showed us your mental abilities
