Early on in learning to play I drew out my own chart in large letters & hung it on the wall where I practise. To me it is my most helpful tool in learning the guitar, when I play, I just look up and see the actual notes, it aids greatly in learning the fretboard. It also helped in seeing patterns, I compare it to being in a helicopter hovering over a town and seeing the street grid layout. This was a short but very vital video Eric, if applied it is a fantastic learning tool.
