Lovebites (stylized as LOVEBITES) is a Japanese power metal band, formed in 2016 by former Destrose members Miho and Haruna. Its lineup currently consists of Haruna on drums, Midori and Miyako on guitar, Asami on vocals, and Fami on bass. After signing to Victor Entertainment, the group released both their debut EP and their first album in 2017, The Lovebites EP and Awakening from Abyss, before performing their first overseas concerts at the end of the year. With another EP and album released in 2018, Battle Against Damnation and Clockwork Immortality, Lovebites quickly garnered international attention and won that year's Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award for Best New Band. Following the releases of Electric Pentagram (2020) and Glory, Glory, to the World (2021), bassist Miho left the band in August 2021. After a year-long hiatus, Lovebites recruited Fami on bass and released Judgement Day, their fourth album, in February 2023. It is their highest-charting record to date, reaching number 5 on both the Oricon and Billboard Japan charts.

Up the Irons! 😁🤘 I have been listening to Iron Maiden for decades now, and nevertheless quickly fell in love with LOVEBITES, after about the 3rd or 4th live video I watched from them here. 😁 I stick to "Eddie and the boys" nevertheless, for they, too, produced amazing Metal masterpieces, and to me Iron maiden still are the masters of story-telling Metal (Alexander The Great, Brighter Than a Thousand Suns, Empire of the clouds, a.s.o.). I just _enhanced_ my Metal playlist: Iron Maiden, Helloween, Lovebites, Nemophila, Hanabie. 😁🤘
Yea, some people have suggested that Lovebites are actually Alien SuperHeros in disguise, on earth to save Heavy Metal 😂 It would not surprise if true 😃🐺

Talking about Iron Maiden. There is a reason why Miho here uses a blue Fender-style ESP.
She is a big Maiden/Harris fan. She did sadly leave mid 2021, but got replaced by the Bass-prodigy Fami.
The singer's elegant movements are no doubt a result of her 15 years studying ballet and dance before becoming a singer.🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

They have four CDs, three EPs, and one single. Since the song "Golden Destination" is on the third album, its release is a single, not an EP.

Holy War is the first song i listened to them and i fell in love immediately. Lovebites is the only band that i prefer to listen to live versions because they are totally awesome live and they should be metal superstars all around the world !!! You can listen to their entire catalogue. Nothing to throw away. All of their songs are five stars ! 🤘🐺💎
their lives are crazy good. from the lighting, pyro, mixing, camerawork, editing, down to the masterful music work by the ladies...its just perfection.
Just wait, you have seen nothing yet. The new album is awesome, the new bassist Fami brings a new element to the band and has a smile that Just makes you happy. I will put them up against any past metal band and as far as the drummer Haruna, sorry in my opinion she is the best drummer in the world right now.
🤘LOVEBITES destroys everything our brain can imagine. Let the days when these girls were born become holy.
A suggestion: for your car, download their second album Clockwork Immortality. It's the lightest of their four albums, and most of the songs that people will ask you to react to are on their other albums and EPs, so you can still first-react to them without listening to them before.
But most of their stuff is way too fast to be played in the car, especially anything after Clockwork Immortality. If you were to listen to Judgement Day in your car (their newest), you'd get stopped for speeding. 😄 They go all out on speed on that one.
Also, do you know you have a great bass voice? You should sing in a choir.

They're both lead, Miyako is the golden touch and absolutely beatiful on piano. Midori the crazy shredder has nothing stopping her!

I'm a 57yo metal musican and Priest acolyte who hasnt missed a JP show since 81. Seen Motorhead, Queensryche, Racer X, Maiden, etc alllll multiple times since the 80s.

I am an old Spanish wolf, and honestly, I am in awe of these girls, I still remember that distant 1978, when I was waiting in front of the record store for the latest Rainbow or AC/DC album and now, after a thousand years later and with the transformation of heavy metal into something dark, pessimistic, sometimes unpleasant, I find myself with these wonderful women, incredible and beautiful artists, full of sympathy and positive energy, who transmit joy of life and hope, who have filled my heart with joy. I cant stop watching and enjoying them; I have forgotten the old bands with their old musicians who repeat their old songs over and over again; I just want to hear, see and feel these masters of heavy metal music. And special mention to the most beautiful and talented singer in the world, my beloved Asami, the goddess before whose feet I bow.
Having been around in the music industry since the 80s, I thought I had seen it all 🤔! My advice to you is look at their list and pick one regardless of who says what because they do not have a bad song at all! It's a journey that I have been on since 2017 and never disappointed! However, I will go against what I said earlier 😉. Hammer of Wrath 2023 is worth a look!!,😎🤟

Best metal band in the world! I can say that with a straight face too! I totally get it if someone told me that they weren't their thing, that they prefer death metal or a male vocalist etc. However, if you are looking for 80s metal resurrected with some modern twists, insane talent, and soaring vocals (and some beautiful vocals as well), then look no further than Lovebites. Oh are you going to enjoy your dive into this band. From rip your face off thrash to heavy metal ballad classics, these beautiful ladies do it better than anyone. I humbly suggest Break The Wall from this same concert. Super thrash with two very different guitar soloes. But you really cannot go wrong with these ladies. Live is almost always better than video. Hard to believe Asami was a backup singer mostly r&b,and is actually a ballerina and LOVEBITES is the first time signing metal. And for her to do it in 💯%in English is awesome.
They are phenomenal. Take a listen to Thunder Vengeance, Break the Wall, Hammer of Wrath, Shadowmaker & Judgement Day (Many others will be recommended by others as well). Trust me, whatever is recommended will be fire. Elite level musicians.
She has a really strong voice. Real talk, if you like Lovebites you need to react to Galneryus as well, I’m not going to say they are the male version of Lovebites as they are their own thing, but if you want 70s, 80s & 90s raw Power Metal inspiration you absolutely can’t miss them. BABYMETAL is my favorite band of all time, & I put Galneryus alongside them, BAND-MAID & Nemophilia are another awesome female bands, all of them are like the ultimate Metal line so please check them out more 🦊🤘🔥

Fantastic band, Ive been saying it since I first heard them. I think the next one should be “Glory To The World” based on you saying there’s something religious about it. In this one they are playing in a church and Midori, the composer of this song said she got inspired by gospel music. When the Music Video came, I heard some people saying, they can’t pull that off live, ohhhhh they’re were wroooooong, it might be even better live!! Thanks for your reaction! 3.5 years ago, when I accidentally came across LOVEBITES on YT, I was about as surprised as you. These ladies amazed me with their skills and songs. The only slight difference is that the first LOVEBITES songs I was introduced to were 'Rising' and 'Thunder Vengeance'.
When Miho (bass, founder and leader of the band)created LOVEBITES, she was guided by the music of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal . One of her favorite bands is IRON MAIDEN and Steve Harris is one of her favorite bassists. Steve's bass playing style had a huge influence on Miho's playing.
Many people who listen to LOVEBITES for the first time say (as a compliment and admiration!) that the sound of some of the LOVEBITES songs often reminds them of IRON MAIDEN, and Asami's vocals are very similar to Bruce Dickinson's vocals. I think that's not all. I would also add that Miho's bass is very similar to Steve Harris' bass.
P.S. A few years after creating LOVEBITES, Miho met Steve Harris and they became friends. Steve and Miho are two great bassists, two founders and two leaders of great bands, IRON MAIDEN and LOVEBITES !
That's impact of her father on Miho. Harris can not be friend with Miho., she just thought so.

Given how you describe your musical taste I’d recommend Black Pentagram Live by Unlucky Morpheus. It’s not death metal but it brutal and I think you’ll love the drummer.
You need to watch The Hammer of Wrath with the new bassist, Fami. Even more intense than this. It was their first time back after Covid and Fami's first performance in front of a large audience.
Another band you should listen to is the Dutch band Epica. They are classified as symphonic death metal. My suggestion would be the song Consign to Oblivion.

Lovebites have been favourites of mine for a couple of years now. Got into them off YT recommendations after getting into Babymetal. If you like a bit of edgy pop, you should give Dreamcatcher a go.
you want some japanese metalcore check out deviloof - torture and jiluka - black, they’re both visual kei band. you’ll love them, some heart pounding metal that melts faces.

they use some religious references and iconography in their songs however they are not a religious band . the use of Valhalla and Heaven in the same song ( Swan Song ) is a good example , this song has many religious references but it is a story about Metal Warriors not monks lol most of their songs have a positive message but no one religion is being preached . the white outfits and positive messages separate them from the normal black leather wearing dark themed Metal bands .they also have used a pentagram on an album cover and on stage ( backdrop and on a bass drum head ) but with a single point not two facing up representing good not evil .
