LOVEBITES - The Hammer Of Wrath lyrics: What's the worst way to die? Burning to death, or drowning? Everyone laughs in derision There's no hope at all Why is the world rotting away Howling in pain, they slowly die All of the sorrow is murderous The insanity (Burn up) They're calling me (Burn up) It's do or die (Burn up) Get ready for hell (Bring down justice to the wicked) Don't look away from the mistakes Open your eyes, and see the truth When lightning cracks the blackened sky Listen to the screams of distress It's like a bad dream but it's not No way to get out, a living nightmare Bring down the Hammer of Wrath Who will be the next to burn? God only knows the victim Everyone knows they are innocent All the hope is gone In despair they pass away There was no hope to begin with Even the angels are giving up Looking down on us Will this night ever break dawn (Bring down justice to the wicked) SOLO: midori / mi-ya [miyako] What's the worst way to die? The bass player in the video (MIHO) has left the band in 2021. Now the bass player is FAMI, and you can watch her in the live version of the same song from tour "Knocking at heaven's gate" in 2023. anyway, they are both amazing bass players.
Second that, on checking out the "knocking at Heaven's Gate" 2023 version with Fami. I personally think it is a better mix. It was their first song of their first concert after their two-year hiatus. Lots of energy. Asami coming out on to stage with "We are Back!!" , then the gang chant "Go!!" Also, Fami got to solo on her first live song with the band with the biggest smile on her face.
Also, FAMI had a pretty sizable following before she joined Lovebites (over 600K). This is a bass cover she did about 4 years before she auditioned for Lovebites. She was 17 at the time she did this video: ruclips.net/video/Q_UqztwYAOU/видео.html and this one is even crazier: ruclips.net/video/VpepV9gJh1A/видео.html
Great reaction ! You have barely scratched the surface as Lovebites has a current catalogue of about 60 original songs which none is bad. BTW, the bassist in this video is the former bass player, Miho, who left the band in 2021. The new bassist, Fami, joined Lovebites in 2022. Here's another thrash track from these amazing ladies - "Set the World on Fire" LIVE : ruclips.net/video/99zsH6iG_6c/видео.html
Reason I love this band is the fact they remind me of those old school heavy metal bands. They deserve way more recognition then what they are getting now. 🤘
Exactly, but I'd add LOVEBITES are better. I've been listening to old Megadeth, Judas Priest and Metallica albums lately, and even though they are excellent allbums with some brilliant songs, they still contain some songs that I skip. I've never skipped a LOVEBITES song in my life.
The Awakening (instrumental)" and "Hammer of Wrath" were two of their earliest compositions and are the first and second tracks on their first full-length album, AWAKENING FROM ABYSS. These two songs are often performed by them as concert openers and encores. In case you are wondering, at this 2020 concert they played 14 songs and one piano solo before performing them as an encore.

Man, if you like gang vocals, you need to check out their song "Stand And Deliver (Shoot 'Em Down). Both the music video and the live version are available on their official channel. Also, you'll find that most people prefer the live versions of most of their songs, due to that possible over-production of live tracks. Plus, they tend to refine songs over time with the live versions, with this being a prime example.
I love this band because they played heavy metal but still using clean vocal. It feels like , "yeah we're women, we play heavy metal, but we still women"
Funny how you mention old school thrash, as this song absolutely screams Anthrax. You could replace all of the ladies in the band with the classic lineup of Anthrax and this could sound like it could have come off their 1986 album Among the Living. That’s why it has been said that these ladies can outdo all of the current and classic bands, and do it in heels.
Big Lamb of God fan here and totally love these ladies as well. Completely different styles of vocals and i love both styles. Cant wait to see Lovebites live! 🤘🐺
Your opening statement "My fartin metal lord" was perfect. They play so effortlessly. This is the old bass player (Miho) who left in 2021. The new bassist is Fami. We will get you up to speed on eveyone. They both are incredible. Enjoy the journey, they just get more impressive,
This is a good version of the song but for me the version from last year takes it too another level. That part near the end when Asami holds that long note but breaks it in half, she dosn't break in half in the newer version and maybe even holds it a bit longer. And the visuals are better in the newer version. This is the original base player in this version. the version I like better has the new base player. You can tell the new base player from the old one because she is younger, taller, jet black hair and is ALWAYS smiling. ironically, the base player that left and the drummer, are the founders of the band.
Nothing will disappoint but plenty more to surprise. Burden of Time (live in studio version) is one that I feel always surprises everyone. And "I like live more than studio" should just be the mantra for everyone that listens to these Japanese bands.
This song is from the "Five Of A Kind - Live In Tokyo 2020" held by LOVEBITES at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo on February 21, 2020. Available in digital, cd, dvd and blu ray format. Please subscribe to their channel (if you haven't): ruclips.net/channel/UC90wxogt_sQrP0Os0HT-xuw The setlist is: 1.Thunder Vengeance 2.Holy War 3.Don’t Bite The Dust 4.Rising 5.Raise Some Hell 6.Break The Wall 7.Shadowmaker 8.Piano Solo (Etude Op.10, No.12) 9.Swan Song 10.Addicted 11.Dancing With The Devil 12.Signs Of Deliverance 13.M.D.O. 14.Golden Destination 15.When Destinies Align Encore. 16.The Awakening 17.The Hammer Of Wrath 18.Edge Of The World 19.We The United
Still my favorite performance of this one. I like it better than the 2023 performance. Asami killed at the end of this one, and the Awakening at the beginning with the crowd is a great lead in. This is Miho, the original bassist. With the bands you mentioned, you have to check out Break the Wall from this same show ruclips.net/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/видео.html Thunder Vengeance also, which is the opener to this show ruclips.net/video/yWE7PqCpGi4/видео.html Mostly, I think they are better live. There are CDs of these concerts, so you could get those, or download the live versions. I own the studio albums too though.
With the new line up, Fami on bass, they actually 'play' the Awakening intro for their first concert back from hiatus. Check out Knockin' At Heaven's Gate performance. 🤘 Great reaction. Cheers.
Welcome to the wolfpack my friend. Yup, I have to agree with you, Lovebites has EVERYTHING I want in a metal band phenomenal guitars, drums, bass, and vocals. They have it all. Every member is top notch and among the best at their craft. They totally blew my mind when I first discovered them in 2021. FYI - Fami is the new bass player and she joined in October of 2022, so all the older videos, like this one, from 2021 and earlier have the original bass player Miho. She was actually the person who put the band together. She left for personal reasons without any more detail than that. Fami, the new bassist is phenomenal and was only 20 years old when she joined. Fami (rhymes with Mommy) has her own RUclips channel where she does bass covers of non-metal songs. There is one video in particular you have to check out. IT has over 11 million views now. She created it when she was in high school and only 17 years old at the time. She is as good as the Band Maid bassist or better. It will blow your mind - Here's the link to the video: ruclips.net/video/Q_UqztwYAOU/видео.html
You could also pick the video she labeled “live version”, as it likely better represents what she could do in a live setting, while the non-live version would be extremely hard to pull off in a live setting. I think this sets a more realistic perspective on her ability. Having said that, I never shy away from simply stating that Fami is clearly a more technical bassist than Miho; a better bassist who can do everything Miho can do, with the option of adding more variety/versatility of style. I think people can understand this better, when they consider that only one side, cannot play the music of the other.
@SomethingToDo360 "A better bassist who can do everything Miho can do"...Except write a killer Metal song, like Miho did. Now as far as technical ability goes, Fami is more technical but playing the type of music that Lovebites plays and with all the sonic space Miyako and Midori's guitars occupy, much of Fami's technical playing will be lost in the mix of a live show (Unless a bass solo is written into a song). I'm not anti Fami at all, she's a great bassist but the comparisons with Miho have gotten pretty stale.
@@guitarzen5999 ‘Except write a killer Metal song, like Miho did.” I think it is much wiser to wait for a future album before making that statement. I think it makes more sense to assume that Fami will also be contributing to some degree in the songwriting. We know Miho required composition assistance from Mao and Miyako in her songwriting, which may be the case for Fami as well. “Now as far as technical ability goes, Fami is more technical” My only statement here, would be that Lovebites is a technical-focused band. I think they will want to have some bass solos to take advantage of Fami’s popularity, and to uphold their general focus on technicality (by utilizing Fami as well). “much of Fami's technical playing will be lost” Much actually depends on the writing. They can decide what fits, and when. I think the idea is more about them thinking how they will choose to implement her. I found it interesting in how Mao chose to implement the bassist in the song ‘Face the Fear’ by Lonesome Blue. “comparisons with Miho have gotten pretty stale.” You don’t have to respond if you aren’t interested. I find these sort of comparisons fascinating, but I think I’m more detached from everything, as I would have no issues at all in saying someone else is better than Fami (as a similar type of comparison). I don’t feel any kind of loyalty here. Just sharing my opinion.
The bass player featured in this video is the old bass player Miho..... the leader of the pack and the founding member and the metal head . The new bass player is Fami another incredible bassist. Glory to Lovebites 🤘🔥🐺
Thanks for reacting to this band and spreading the word about them. They will continue to amaze you, and I am not kidding when I say they just might become your favorite band. 🤘🐺🤘 I agree with the comment about the studio version of Holy War, that is one of the very few songs that is far superior in every way on the live performance. Most studio songs are nearly as good as live and one song called Spellbound is in my opinion better sounding on the studio version but you can't go wrong with any song they do and LOVEBITES live is the best of the best.
FYI - you skipped the first minute of the video which was part of "The Awakening" intro song. The Awakening is a two minute intro song from the album they play as a backing track in this video. You only played half of it. They played it live during one of their concerts this year in Japan.
Miho - she's just not only a bass player.. she was a founder - with Haruna ( the drummer ) after their old band - Destros was disbanded. They found Midori.. Miyako and Asami and that time the band name is not a LOVEBITES. After they hearing Asami sing Love Bite ( So Do I ) by Halestorm.. they all name the band is LOVEBITES. Miho - without her idea.. passion and dedication.. we will never had LOVEBITES today... Thank you Miho.. you are remembered as a Godmother of LOVEBITES... Wolfpack won't forget that.. 🤘🤘🐺🐺🤘🤘
Great reaction. The bassist is the original bassist Miho. She is the band founder and is a very capable musician. You must've heard her bass tapping in Holy War.
“you must’ve heard her bass tapping in Holy War” Just a correction. For the tapping part, you are actually hearing the guitars, not Miho. This was done intentionally. I don’t want to explain why, because I’m already perceived to be too critical.
@@SomethingToDo360 You have to tell me why to be fair. If you can't you should've kept quiet. Do you mean Miho just pretended stepping on her foot pedal before tapping and stepped off after the tapping?
@@gatograto Guitars playing simultaneously (for example: Midori off-camera tapping over the bass), obviously makes it harder to judge the bass tapping on its own. To be fair, bass tapping is not Miho’s specialty, so it is less likely to be used in isolation for a live stream.
@@SomethingToDo360 It still doesn't look like Miho is not tapping. Remenber you have commented "not Miho". And everiybody knows there are bassists do tapping. I don't understand how you've got such Idea that I said it was Miho's speciality.
I agree with your thoughts on Holy War. The studio track has too much synthesizers on it. I prefer the live version. They did the same with Judgement Day on their newest album. Live sounds better with the synths more in the background.
And you just started in the lovebites world, they continue to advance with 2020, 2021 and then 2023 live, then you could see nemophila, lovebites the best and then nemophila
i agree on holy war. as much as i love the cd version it is more synth heavy whereas the guitars stand out more in the live. plus watching them do it puts it over the top imo. one song from this cd -their first full cd from 2017 - that i thought could not be improved upon in a live is 'scream for me'. but the studio live version of that song shut me right up. one of the great guitar songs of all time : ruclips.net/video/46z-13l2oNs/видео.html
great reaction and i can say the megadeath influence is very clear. And also in this video they still have their founder/original bass player her name is miho and their new basist is now fami.
Like you, I prefer the brunette guitarist (Miyako) over the blonde guitarist (Midori). However, I'll disagree with you that Miyako is better. In terms of technical speed and precision, Midori is the superior guitarist, a fact that Miyako readily acknowledges. But Miyako has the ability to play with more emotion (I understand that is subjective). Probably the best illustration of their difference is "Break the Wall", where Midori plays a really fast Slayer-like solo and then Miyako follows with a Gary Moore inspired blues solo (and this is all in a thrash song). "Break the Wall": ruclips.net/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/видео.html Also, Miyako plays a bluesy solo in "Epilogue" that literally brings a tear to my eyes every time I hear it. If her playing in this song doesn't extract some emotion from you, then you're probably not even alive. "Epilogue": ruclips.net/video/JIAJYBuuKGM/видео.html
That's Miho, original bassist and founding member. The new one is Fami, just as impressive a player. After Fami joined, the first live gig they had - they opened with that song as well - you may watch it and compare the skills of both Miho and Fami?!
Thanks for continuing with Lovebites. Japanese metal is on an incredible roll, especially the women, who are kicking ass on an epic scale. Another great band you should check out, if you haven’t already, is Bridear. Founded in 2011, they were in the second wave of all-female heavy-metal bands. They love to go hard and heavy. They have the classic twin-lead attack and technical rhythm section. Their tiny bassist even throws in some growls at key moments. I’m posting this now because they’re scheduled to release their new album on June 28, and it’s an absolute banger. To get ready, check out “Ignite” ruclips.net/video/C0-_u9SYspE/видео.html This is a recent live performance of one of their older songs. It gives you a good idea of their sound. There is also a new video coming-don't miss the chance to jump on it!
This has the original bassist, Miho, and is the opening of the encore. Thunder Vengeance is the show opener and has an even better drum fill IMO. Thunder Vengeance 2020 ruclips.net/video/yWE7PqCpGi4/видео.html
Actually, Asami has done some training for the 2023 year version of this song, developed her skills. She now can do that entire long series of notes at the end WITHOUT breathing. Here she did breath once. You can hear in the 2023 version that she goes down in volume and pitch towards the end. Which is a trick to make it last longer. Its also interesting to listen to the difference between Miho and Fami for this song. For this song they actually sound rather similar. Miho got more volume for the solo.
OK... First, you did a great reaction... but.... stopping in the middle of the solo to do a commercial? C'mon. Do the commercial upfront. Big rule of reacting is don't interrupt the solo. ;) You had great insight into the sound. A song that isn't reacted to very often is Dissonance. There is a MV of it, but it was from a show that was not released to the web. You may get a strike if you use that. But the video of just the song is incredible. The name of the song tells you what's coming.
You aint see nothing yet bro. Just read comments, follow suggestions and enjoy. Best metal bands in the world right now are Nightwish and Lovebites. Its a fact. These girls are really something special. ROCK ON!
i would really love if you did fami's cover of alien alien! she made if before she was in lovebites and they also did a live version with her after she joined! (the bass player)
This is NOT the new bass player. The one in this video is Miho and she founded the band with Haruna (drums). Miho left, amicably, about two years ago after her father passed away. She took a leave of absence and didn't want to hold the band up so she left. The band had world wide open auditions and found Fami, their current bassist. There is a newer version of The Hammer Of Wrath that has Fami in it. But it ain't this one.
I'll tell you my opinion on why the song "holy war" has too many synthesizers in the studio version "holy war" is a song from the third album, if you remove the mela synthesizers, it would be very musically similar to a song from the band's first album that doesn't have synthesizers featured and notice that "holy war" is similar to "shadowmaker"
There is a newer version of this song which features the new bassist Fami (the video you showed featured the original bassist), but I (slightly) prefer this older version over the new version - although both are amazingly good.

LOVEBITES - The Hammer Of Wrath lyrics:
What's the worst way to die?
Burning to death, or drowning?
Everyone laughs in derision
There's no hope at all
Why is the world rotting away
Howling in pain, they slowly die
All of the sorrow is murderous
The insanity
(Burn up)
They're calling me
(Burn up)
It's do or die
(Burn up)
Get ready for hell
(Bring down justice to the wicked)
Don't look away from the mistakes
Open your eyes, and see the truth
When lightning cracks the blackened sky
Listen to the screams of distress
It's like a bad dream but it's not
No way to get out, a living nightmare
Bring down the Hammer of Wrath
Who will be the next to burn?
God only knows the victim
Everyone knows they are innocent
All the hope is gone
In despair they pass away
There was no hope to begin with
Even the angels are giving up
Looking down on us
Will this night ever break dawn
(Bring down justice to the wicked)
SOLO: midori / mi-ya [miyako]

She was 17 at the time she did this video: ruclips.net/video/Q_UqztwYAOU/видео.html
and this one is even crazier: ruclips.net/video/VpepV9gJh1A/видео.html
I love them both
Great reaction !
I’m getting there lol
Reason I love this band is the fact they remind me of those old school heavy metal bands. They deserve way more recognition then what they are getting now. 🤘
Exactly, but I'd add LOVEBITES are better. I've been listening to old Megadeth, Judas Priest and Metallica albums lately, and even though they are excellent allbums with some brilliant songs, they still contain some songs that I skip. I've never skipped a LOVEBITES song in my life.
The main reason they're not getting more recognition is because they remind you and everyone else of those old school bands.
Lovebites have announced a new album for the end of the year. They are touring Europe this summer, so we can expect a lot in 2024.
Yes that's great news! Any source? I couldn't find it on their Twitter account.

Best band in the world right now and gotta love seeing Asami headbanging
Asami said
Our songs are perfected when we play them live.
The latest is the greatest, right?"
Can't wait to see this band live in September
I love this band because they played heavy metal but still using clean vocal. It feels like , "yeah we're women, we play heavy metal, but we still women"
Agree - thrash music with clean vocals is my musical nirvana.
I respect all your comments for Lovebites members 😊❤
ありがとう😊
Thank you
Big Lamb of God fan here and totally love these ladies as well. Completely different styles of vocals and i love both styles. Cant wait to see Lovebites live! 🤘🐺
Couldn't agree more!

Still my favorite performance of this one. I like it better than the 2023 performance. Asami killed at the end of this one, and the Awakening at the beginning with the crowd is a great lead in. This is Miho, the original bassist. With the bands you mentioned, you have to check out Break the Wall from this same show ruclips.net/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/видео.html Thunder Vengeance also, which is the opener to this show ruclips.net/video/yWE7PqCpGi4/видео.html
Mostly, I think they are better live. There are CDs of these concerts, so you could get those, or download the live versions. I own the studio albums too though.
I also slightly prefer this version to the newer one - but I absolutely love both versions.
Going to see them play in London, six weeks to go 😃🤘🐺
Lucky you 😁 Enjoy your privilege! 😁🤘
Great Musicans and great reaction. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Thank you 🙏
It is the original bass player in this video!
Co-founder and writer of this song.
@@guitarzen5999 ‘Except write a killer Metal song, like Miho did.”
I think it is much wiser to wait for a future album before making that statement. I think it makes more sense to assume that Fami will also be contributing to some degree in the songwriting. We know Miho required composition assistance from Mao and Miyako in her songwriting, which may be the case for Fami as well.
“Now as far as technical ability goes, Fami is more technical”
My only statement here, would be that Lovebites is a technical-focused band. I think they will want to have some bass solos to take advantage of Fami’s popularity, and to uphold their general focus on technicality (by utilizing Fami as well).
“much of Fami's technical playing will be lost”
Much actually depends on the writing. They can decide what fits, and when. I think the idea is more about them thinking how they will choose to implement her. I found it interesting in how Mao chose to implement the bassist in the song ‘Face the Fear’ by Lonesome Blue.
“comparisons with Miho have gotten pretty stale.”
You don’t have to respond if you aren’t interested.
I agree with the comment about the studio version of Holy War, that is one of the very few songs that is far superior in every way on the live performance.
It's still MIHO in this MV...she's amazing! You should check out her post LOVEBITES
Your reaction is honest and great.
Please bring LOVEBITES up more & more.
There isn’t a single song in their catalog that will disappoint you.
Great reaction. The bassist is the original bassist Miho. She is the band founder and is a very capable musician. You must've heard her bass tapping in Holy War.
“you must’ve heard her bass tapping in Holy War”
Just a correction.
@@gatograto Also this live version of Holy War has different camera angles: ruclips.net/video/2WEkVd5JrFI/видео.html
@@SomethingToDo360 It still doesn't look like Miho is not tapping. Remenber you have commented "not Miho". And everiybody knows there are bassists do tapping. I don't understand how you've got such Idea that I said it was Miho's speciality.
THUNDER VENGEANCE and WINDS OF TRANSYLVANIA (live) next pls.you will blwn away more, thanks, regards from philippines...🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺
You should compare it to the 2023 Live from "Knocking at heavens gate". Its the show opener there too.
ありがとう♪
I agree with your thoughts on Holy War. The studio track has too much synthesizers on it. I prefer the live version. They did the same with Judgement Day on their newest album. Live sounds better with the synths more in the background.
You rigt tracks live is much better than tracks in studio ! Amazing band ,best metal nowadays!
You should just download this entire show. It is available, along with the other 4-5 live shows they’ve made!
great reaction and i can say the megadeath influence is very clear. And also in this video they still have their founder/original bass player her name is miho and their new basist is now fami.
This is the encore
💯👍👍👍
It's a shame that you cut out (didn't check) half of The Awakening. The Awakening is the first track from which the Awakening from Abyss album begins.
"Break the Wall": ruclips.net/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/видео.html
Also, Miyako plays a bluesy solo in "Epilogue" that literally brings a tear to my eyes every time I hear it. If her playing in this song doesn't extract some emotion from you, then you're probably not even alive.
"Epilogue": ruclips.net/video/JIAJYBuuKGM/видео.html
Fair enough
That's Miho, original bassist and founding member. The new one is Fami, just as impressive a player. After Fami joined, the first live gig they had - they opened with that song as well - you may watch it and compare the skills of both Miho and Fami?!
Love Lovebites 🐺🤘🏴 Above all others

This Band makes me say WTF 😮😮more than any other
Thanks for continuing with Lovebites.
The bass player is Miho and she left the band. She and the drumer founded this band.
This has the original bassist, Miho, and is the opening of the encore. Thunder Vengeance is the show opener and has an even better drum fill IMO. Thunder Vengeance 2020 ruclips.net/video/yWE7PqCpGi4/видео.html
totally could see randy singing with these ladies lol
Actually, Asami has done some training for the 2023 year version of this song, developed her skills. She now can do that entire long series of notes at the end WITHOUT breathing. Here she did breath once. You can hear in the 2023 version that she goes down in volume and pitch towards the end. Which is a trick to make it last longer. Its also interesting to listen to the difference between Miho and Fami for this song. For this song they actually sound rather similar. Miho got more volume for the solo.
Miho Miho Miho!
OK... First, you did a great reaction... but.... stopping in the middle of the solo to do a commercial? C'mon. Do the commercial upfront. Big rule of reacting is don't interrupt the solo. ;)
You had great insight into the sound. A song that isn't reacted to very often is Dissonance. There is a MV of it, but it was from a show that was not released to the web. You may get a strike if you use that. But the video of just the song is incredible. The name of the song tells you what's coming.
Next .. Soldier Stands Solitarily (Live)
Miyako (blach haired guitarist) 🤍🔥🔥🔥🎸

where is The Awakening ?
i would really love if you did fami's cover of alien alien! she made if before she was in lovebites and they also did a live version with her after she joined! (the bass player)
even though this isnt her in this one...
HEY THANKS FOR YOUR REACTION TO LOVEBITES ...YOU ARE 100 PERCENT RIGHT THEY PLAY THAT OLD SCHOOL METAL MUSIC SO WELL
This is NOT the new bass player.
I'll tell you my opinion on why the song "holy war" has too many synthesizers in the studio version
"holy war" is a song from the third album, if you remove the mela synthesizers, it would be very musically similar to a song from the band's first album that doesn't have synthesizers featured and notice that "holy war" is similar to "shadowmaker"
There is a newer version of this song which features the new bassist Fami (the video you showed featured the original bassist), but I (slightly) prefer this older version over the new version - although both are amazingly good.
SKOOOOOOL!
You should compare versions with the new bass player
This IS the very missed former bass player Miho...
You skipped most of "The Awakening", then you proudly put it in the title? WTF?
Like Band Maid, Lovebites is better live
