I'm 63 and grew up going to Rock and Metal gigs in the 70's and 80's to see the likes of Zeppelin, Zappa, Queen, Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica and Judas Priest to name a few. Now, in the 21st century, Japanese female Metal and Hard Rock bands are making all the very best Metal and Rock. Band-Maid (all Japanese, all female, 11 year, 150 song back catalogue) are the queens of Hard Rock while Lovebites are the queens of Metal, while bands like Nemophila, Hanabie and Babymetal (all Japanese, all female) are killing it too. I haven't looked West for my music for 8 years!

My first video was "Winds Of Transylvania", and I didn't know what I was experiencing! Know that feeling? Then I tried immediately the earlier reaction which was "Holy War" (live 2020). And they kick ass! No, it's not a Megadeth cover! But it's the most used introduction to LOVEBITES (500+ reactors on RUclips, more like 1000). Solid introduction. Miyako, the guitarist on the right, was 4-5 months pregnant at this show. Also, she's one of the best guitarists in the world, but considers herself a pianist first. All of these ladies are phenomenal. I'm another "old metal fan", been listening to the stuff for more than 40 years, and Lovebites is the best I've ever heard.
I’m an old metal head. This is the one band that can perform live flawlessly. I had seen bands that can shred fast and heavy. Lovebites can play fast, heavy and melodic. Their ballads are so soulful.

@@DadJams They had their US debut at ProgPower in Atlanta three months ago. There were a handful of bands I really wanted to see, with Lovebites at the top of the list, so I traveled from Texas to Georgia for the festival. I had very high expectations for their first US performance and they actually exceeded them. They had a full 90 minute set and went nonstop the entire time without seemingly breaking a sweat. They then did 3 shows on the way back to the west coast (Dallas, LA and San Francisco). I have no doubt that they will be back in 2025 or 2026.

If you love guitar solos you came to the right place. Lovebites is known for their solos and guitar harmonies. I'm in Arizona and discovered Lovebites about three years ago. You haven't even begun to scratch the surface with Lovebites and the multitude of other Japanese rock and metal bands. This song had the "old" bassist, founder Miho. She left the band in 2021 and you can see the current bassist, Fami, in live versions of "Soldier Stands Solitarily" and "We Are the Resurrection" from 2023. If you want a studio MV I recommend "Judgement Day". Rock and metal is not dead. It's now being performed by tiny Japanese ladies.

Oh man! If you like guitar solos you've just found the mother lode! The two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, are just about the hottest twin guitar attack on the planet right now. Virtually every Lovebites song features insanely fast, precision lead guitar solos. In fact I hesitate to even call them solos. They're more like guitar duets. Welcome to LOVEBITES 🤘🏼🐺🔥 Here some information about my favorite band: LOVEBITES was formed in 2016 by original bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. Their first EP and album both were released in 2017. So far the band has already released 4 full length studio albums, 4 EPs, a best of compilation and a bunch of live albums, available on CD/DVD/Blu-ray. In 2018 LOVEBITES won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band. LOVEBITES have toured in Europe back in 2018/2019 and also recently in 2024. I was in Paris 🇨🇵concert in 2024. I know them, I love them. Those ladies still my Hart and i don't complain about it. Those ladies kick butts. 🇯🇵 In the french concert they've played 14 songs with 14 guitars solos of each one and 14 unisons duet solo part. @@rainerzufall42 Yes there are songs with a higher BPM but that doesn't make it sound faster. BPM is based off of quarter notes, one for each beat. But if you play mostly eighth or sixteenth notes, a song with a lower BPM will actually be faster and harder to play.

Welcome to Japan. The best metal and rock scene on the planet right now, and is totally female lead. You're about to be hit with so many Japanese band names but the big four are Babymetal, Band-Maid, Lovebites, & Nemophila. I actually got to meet Lovebites at one of their first US shows this September, these ladies are magnificent. Have fun exploring all the new music and for Japanese bands the Live versions are better.
IMO, Babymetal is not a metal band. It's an idol group with a metal background. The metal part of Babymetal is played by Kami band that are the musicians with masked faces that are not part of Babymetal. The girls herselves have nothing metal.

Guitar solos.......LMAO!!!! This is the band for you. Midori/blond and Miyako/Black (a/k/a M&M) do this in almost every song and each one is epic. They are polar opposites in personalities but blend together perfectly. The battles are insane BUT..the harmonizing is absolutely amazing. Small in stature, Asami/vocals is 4' 10" and never sang metal till she joined the band. Haruna/drums is 4' 9" and dominates that massive kit. All these musicians make it look effortless. This was a COVID show ( less than 50% capacity, social distancing, no yelling, shouting or singing and all masked and allow to clap only) yet the ladies in heels and gowns locked the venue to the very core. Welcome to the Wolfpack (fanbase) and the vanguard of the insanely talented all female bands out of Japan. You haven't seen or experienced anything yet!!!!!

Wow you drove down from NJ? I live in PA and was going to drive there, but then I found plane tickets from Philadelphia to Atlanta were less than $50 round trip, so I flew there to see them at ProgPower. It was an awesome show, wasn't it?

To be honest: I feel like that women nowadays are doing their uttermost to keep rock alive. Nursing "this" 75 year old "fellow" who has been claimed to be dead for 30 years or so. Either wearing princess like dresses or maid outfits. In my case I discovered the fantastic rock and metal scene. By chance I ran into Band-Maid, early 2019, after algorithms found I was a bit curious about the Japanese music-scene. Later same year I found Lovebites, then Doll$boxx/Gacharic Spin, Nemophila, East Of Eden, NEK! etc. All consists of great musicians and makes very good music... If you're willing to get lost in translation, since most of these are singing in Japanese. Recommendations? Lovebites - The Hammer of wrath or Solider Stands Solitarily (both live). Band-Maid - Blooming (music video) or Hate? (live), East of Eden - Evolve (OMV)... I mentioned Band-Maid (who also knows Lovebites)... They got some mexican friends in The Warning. 3 talented sisters who easily can become one of the new big thing internationally. Sadly not too much solos, but very groovy! "Choke" live or studio?

Watch and listen to their live performances ... Lovebites is in a different league and You ain't seen nothing yet. You can listen to "Holy War " live at divercity 2020. Break the wall, Hammer of wrath , or any of their other tracks for that matter, You won't be disappointed . The fastest track and one of the best they do is "Soldier Stands Solitarily" it's 195 bpm. This is the best band Ive heard since all the good stuff in the 70s and I've seen them all. Oh fuck I'm babbling again.

For this song, think Slayer. And the next best song for me? The music video for "Judgement Day". It's my all-time favorite song by my all-time favorite band. They are basically a power metal band though they are so versatile with real slow tasty ballads, epic symphonic metal, progressive, and hard rock. If you like good and long guitar solos, try another thrash Judgement Day MV (live is a kinda weak in the mixing), or if you want a long exchange of solos, try a hard rock type Scream For Me. I'm 63 and grew up going to Rock and Metal gigs in the 70's and 80's to see the likes of Zeppelin, Zappa, Queen, Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica and Judas Priest to name a few. Now, in the 21st century, Japanese female Metal and Hard Rock bands are making all the very best Metal and Rock. Band-Maid (all Japanese, all female, 11 year, 150 song back catalogue) are the queens of Hard Rock while Lovebites are the queens of Metal, while bands like Nemophila, Hanabie and Babymetal (all Japanese, all female) are killing it too. I haven't looked West for my music for 8 years!

Miyako, the guitarist on the right, was 4-5 months pregnant at this show. Also, she's one of the best guitarists in the world, but considers herself a pianist first.
All of these ladies are phenomenal. I'm another "old metal fan", been listening to the stuff for more than 40 years, and Lovebites is the best I've ever heard.
I’m an old metal head. This is the one band that can perform live flawlessly. I had seen bands that can shred fast and heavy. Lovebites can play fast, heavy and melodic. Their ballads are so soulful.
If you really want solos check out all their stuff. These two women are premiere guitarists and prove it in every single song the have.

@@DadJams They had their US debut at ProgPower in Atlanta three months ago. There were a handful of bands I really wanted to see, with Lovebites at the top of the list, so I traveled from Texas to Georgia for the festival. I had very high expectations for their first US performance and they actually exceeded them. They had a full 90 minute set and went nonstop the entire time without seemingly breaking a sweat. They then did 3 shows on the way back to the west coast (Dallas, LA and San Francisco). I have no doubt that they will be back in 2025 or 2026.

If you love guitar solos you came to the right place. Lovebites is known for their solos and guitar harmonies. I'm in Arizona and discovered Lovebites about three years ago. You haven't even begun to scratch the surface with Lovebites and the multitude of other Japanese rock and metal bands. This song had the "old" bassist, founder Miho. She left the band in 2021 and you can see the current bassist, Fami, in live versions of "Soldier Stands Solitarily" and "We Are the Resurrection" from 2023. If you want a studio MV I recommend "Judgement Day".
Rock and metal is not dead. It's now being performed by tiny Japanese ladies.

Oh man! If you like guitar solos you've just found the mother lode! The two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, are just about the hottest twin guitar attack on the planet right now. Virtually every Lovebites song features insanely fast, precision lead guitar solos. In fact I hesitate to even call them solos. They're more like guitar duets. Here some information about my favorite band:
LOVEBITES was formed in 2016 by original bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. Their first EP and album both were released in 2017. So far the band has already released 4 full length studio albums, 4 EPs, a best of compilation and a bunch of live albums, available on CD/DVD/Blu-ray.
In 2018 LOVEBITES won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band.
LOVEBITES have toured in Europe back in 2018/2019 and also recently in 2024. This also includes appearances at most European major metal festivals such as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop, Resurrection Fest and Hellfest.
They also played their first US shows this year in September.
In 2021 the band went into a hiatus, because founder and bassist Miho quit the band for personal reasons. During the break also two babies were born. LOVEBITES came back in October 2022 with new bassist Fami and a few months later with new album „Judgement Day“. Their newest release is „LOVEBITES EP II“ with 5 amazing new songs.

Asami on vocals (the one and only voice):
She has an amazing vocal range and vibrato, writes most of the lyrics, also did parts of the song writing for their latest 2 albums, she is a former ballerina and RnB/soul singer
Miyako on guitars, piano, keyboards (the golden touch):
She is the musical brain of the band, main composer and arranger, a soulful but also shreddy guitar player and concert level pianist, furthermore she is a gear nerd
Midori on guitars (crazy shredder):
Incredibly fast and technical guitar player, has contributed to songwriting for a few of their songs, also she is a body fitness athlete
Haruna on drums (little big engine):
Plays very fast pace over long distances, she is very efficient and her stamina is admirable, the cymbal work is outstanding, she also wrote one of their songs including lyrics, creates handmade miniature fake food
Fami on bass since 2022 (shining fingers):
Absolute bass prodigy with outstanding technique, she speaks faster than sonic speed as she plays and smiles non-stop
Miho on bass until 2021 (natural born headbanger):
We will never forget her, she is a great bass player, she wrote several of the songs for the band’s albums 1-3
I love how Asami is standing there during the solos with her arms outstretched knowing she's fronting 4 of the best musicians on earth.
I was in Paris 🇨🇵concert in 2024. I know them, I love them. Those ladies still my Hart and i don't complain about it. Those ladies kick butts. 🇯🇵
In the french concert they've played 14 songs with 14 guitars solos of each one and 14 unisons duet solo part.

@@DadJams Soldier Stands Solitarily is their best song IMO - also probably their fastest. Every member was pushed to the limits of their abilities on this one.
@@ChadTheDragonLord There are several songs that are faster, but SSS has a complicated structure, I'd say, it's the most impressive one (especially Haruna treats the drums bad, and the solos started by Miyako are fantastic). Selected BPMs:

@@rainerzufall42 Yes there are songs with a higher BPM but that doesn't make it sound faster. BPM is based off of quarter notes, one for each beat. But if you play mostly eighth or sixteenth notes, a song with a lower BPM will actually be faster and harder to play.

You're about to be hit with so many Japanese band names but the big four are Babymetal, Band-Maid, Lovebites, & Nemophila. I actually got to meet Lovebites at one of their first US shows this September, these ladies are magnificent. Have fun exploring all the new music and for Japanese bands the Live versions are better.
IMO, Babymetal is not a metal band. It's an idol group with a metal background. The metal part of Babymetal is played by Kami band that are the musicians with masked faces that are not part of Babymetal. The girls herselves have nothing metal.

"LOVEBITES Holy War Live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020" was the first song I saw from them and the guitars just blew my mind. This band is on another level, they're so good it's unreal. First Music Videos I saw were "When Destinies Align" and "Rising", both really good MV, but their live performances are amazing.

They are freaking phenomenal - my all time most favorite band - surpassing Iron Maiden, Metallica and Judas Priest.

Guitar solos.......LMAO!!!! This is the band for you. Midori/blond and Miyako/Black (a/k/a M&M) do this in almost every song and each one is epic. They are polar opposites in personalities but blend together perfectly. The battles are insane BUT..the harmonizing is absolutely amazing. Small in stature, Asami/vocals is 4' 10" and never sang metal till she joined the band. Haruna/drums is 4' 9" and dominates that massive kit. All these musicians make it look effortless. This was a COVID show ( less than 50% capacity, social distancing, no yelling, shouting or singing and all masked and allow to clap only) yet the ladies in heels and gowns locked the venue to the very core. Welcome to the Wolfpack (fanbase) and the vanguard of the insanely talented all female bands out of Japan. You haven't seen or experienced anything yet!!!!!

To be honest: I feel like that women nowadays are doing their uttermost to keep rock alive.
Nursing "this" 75 year old "fellow" who has been claimed to be dead for 30 years or so. Either wearing princess like dresses or maid outfits.
In my case I discovered the fantastic rock and metal scene. By chance I ran into Band-Maid, early 2019, after algorithms found I was a bit curious about the Japanese music-scene.
Later same year I found Lovebites, then Doll$boxx/Gacharic Spin, Nemophila, East Of Eden, NEK! etc. All consists of great musicians and makes very good music... If you're willing to get lost in translation, since most of these are singing in Japanese.
Recommendations? Lovebites - The Hammer of wrath or Solider Stands Solitarily (both live).
Band-Maid - Blooming (music video) or Hate? (live), East of Eden - Evolve (OMV)...

They are basically a power metal band though they are so versatile with real slow tasty ballads, epic symphonic metal, progressive, and hard rock. If you like good and long guitar solos, try another thrash Judgement Day MV (live is a kinda weak in the mixing), or if you want a long exchange of solos, try a hard rock type Scream For Me. If you want another brutal and even faster crazier piece, try Soldier Stands Solitarily.
