Aldious are the OGs in this genre, they were the first to have any success in 2011 with their album “Deep Exceed” (which is awesome) and have been around since 2008. They have a lot to explore and are very much the realest of real deals. I love them, I wish they’d get reorganized and hit us with another album soon.

Marina Bozzio has had to retire due to health problems. The singer is no long with them either, the last one I saw has a much more powerful voice.

The drummer is Marina Bozzio, the adopted daughter of Frank Zappa's drummer Terry Bozzio. Yeah within the currently active Japanese women metal scene I have also felt they are closest to Lovebites, though they are also pretty different. They possibly have more overlap with Mary's Blood or Destrose, 2 other all women Japanese bands that are now defunked. - Destrose - Maze live Destrose had the Lovebites founders Haruna on drums and Miho on bass. - Mary's Blood - Marionaette mv Mary's Blood had ex Nemophila guitarist Saki. And side side note, the founder of Destrose, Mina, went on to form the group Fate Gear. Fate Gear - Battle Against Justice.

Been a fan of Electric Callboy for probably around a year and a half/2 years now and this was the song that got me into Babymetal, though had known their name for years. Saw EC at Sonic Temple just days before this was released and would say they have been the best band I've seen live, though that may change come November when I see Babymetal. As others have said, Electric Callboy are known as Partycore which fuses EDM/Techno with metal. A lot of their newer stuff is just pure fun to watch and will have you laughing throughout. While they may have the moves, as I've seen others say, they appear more like supportive dads/uncles trying to do choreography with BM. So with that I would suggest We Got the Moves from EC for a reaction, Hypa Hypa is also a good place to start with them. Also, Electric Callboy love watching reaction videos to their stuff, if you do an EC video and it gets blocked, should be able to message the band and they'll work on getting the video unblocked for you.

I'm an old fart at 56 😂 My parents listened to mod music and Motown. My going out years were 80s jazz funk but I love 90s hip hop (that's why my bias is Hobi). The 2000s have been dire in my opinion (maybe apart from Bieber). They're making me wanna dance again 💃

4:57 oh man... This actually kinda sorta happened! I think it was this song's first appearance, but there was a whole act where Su-Metal was sacrificed to the metal gods and resurrected as a metal goddess herself on a cross while a crumbling St. Anger was behind them (yes, like Metallica's, that was actually the point, so much so that you play the beginning of this song again but this time... "DARKNESS, IMPRISONING ME! ALL THAT I SEE, ABSOLUTE HORROR!!!") Suffice to say this was... Controversial both in the west and the east, but the statement was made, they are as metal as the legends once rumored to be satanic because of how disruptive they were! Oh, and said legends agree! They're actually pals and have been thoroughly supported by many metal legends, including Metallica.

Electric Callboy are the most entertaining band in the world right now, Germans have not put out a bad song in last 3 years and live shows just a massive rave of metal & EDM riffs that fill audiences with a euphoria 😆🤘

Especially considering that this is your second reaction to Babymetal your grasp on their nature and whole conjoined effort that makes it, it, is spot on! They are a theatrical act, a live group, that's also why their live performances almost every single time outdoes the studio versions. Babymetal is an experience as a whole that takes off having this synergy of idol pop and varied metal genres as base and keeping it fresh by not allowing themselves to get into a formula, hardly a song will sound like the other. As a fan, I usually come from the argument that they're not exactly a band, but a group, the whole composition, arrangement, instrumentals, lyrics, stage, it's all part of what builds what we know as Babymetal, with Su, Moa, Yui and Momo at the front of this whole army of people putting in the work to make the most out of every show. The girls are insane, Kami Band is insane, KobaMetal is insane, EVERYONE is insane and incredibly creative to put this all together. And to people who tend to disregard them as a corporate produced act... Well, yes. But in this grim factory of mass produced content crafted according only to performance indicators and measured only in how safe it plays... Can we appreciate that at least SOMEONE valued creativity enough to get this to take off? Because at the start they didn't. Amuse barely allowed this to get one single song back in the day and it did just because the one asking made a very strong point on what would've been called a "controversial pet project with no future". They expected him to, like, get this fluke out of his system and go back to things that actually sells. But they proved their worth over and over again because once in a while creativity and out-of-the-box thinking gets you really far!

The Kamis are, to me, one of those moments stars align, you know? The combination they have with the girls, the synergy it creates, truly allows them to pop, it sounds so much harder and HITS SO MUCH HARDER when the vocals are a Japanese teenage girl wanting some chocolate, this dissonance creates synergy and it all sounds better than individually!

as far as callabs go you need to do Leave it all Behind with BM, F Hero and Bodyslam. FH and BS are Thai musicians. to have Japanese, Thai and English all in same song, three different bands and all come together great. i have heard there will probably be more callabs from Babymetal later

The common denominator is the electronicore (electronic music + metalcore) subgenre. EC specializes in they themselves call 'partycore' (goofy, fun, satiric), while BM is more exploratory with metal, in this case dabbling in what is known as 'pikorimo' ピコリーモ (Japanese electronicore). Both bands' songs are insanely upbeat & poppy despite their ferocious riffs & sometimes chaotic quirks. BM actually started out with pikorimo-laced songs (Megitsune, Iine!, Uki Uki Midnight, Yva!) when they were the 'Heavy Music Club' (2010-2013) of school-themed idol group Sakura Gakuin. Their first collaborator (Kiba of Akiba) was also pikorimo. Their next career phase was landing a record deal with a major label in 2013, after which they pursued metal more earnestly (while still wildly eclectic), replace their Babybones mine band with the "East" Kamis (who would brilliantly transform the studio songs onstage), & wean themselves from idol trappings like meet & greets, fansignings, & performing at anime conventions. BM's svengali Kobametal was inspired by the 2010s Myspace metal bands & their 2010s hybrid-genre successors when he declared traditional metal was too old & he wanted to create his own blueprint (BM). BM then started befriending these rising bands at foreign music festivals from 2014, ultimately collaborating or gigging with several of them (BMTH, Polyphia, Sabaton, Arch Enemy, EC, Bad Omens, Sleep Token; most of Galactic Empire even became BM's new tour band i.e. the "West" Kamis, since 2019). EC was someone BM knew of a long time ago. Su-metal even admitted recently that they were referencing EC for their second-ever song Iine! in 2011 (when the girls were merely 12-14 years old). But Koba said that both bands kept missing each other at foreign gigs since Rockavaria 2015 in Germany, at least until last year when BM spent their day off during their BabyKlok tour to attend a EC show in Boston & finally met EC backstage. They then agreed to collaborate together, but from long distance due to other commitments. EC said they were still trying to finish Ratatata (the song) during the day of the MV filming.

These two bands fit very well together. Babymetal wanted a song like "We got the moves" from Electric Callboy and reached out to them. EC accepted and the rest is already History. EC blew up when their new clean vocalist arrived, back in 2020. First success was Hypa, Hypa. So when you want to react to something of their own, I would recommend these two songs and you'll already a very good impression who these guys are.

Another Detail that they had to solve. Electric Callboy was quite surprised that Babymetal had their own growler. So this part was a special Service by Kevin : Give me examples what does she do. This was obviously one of the first times that Babymetal heard how essential a growler in combination with Sus Voice might be. But as usual Only the Fox God knows. At the Moment. Although Kevin already included her fangs into this song.

It is a 50 50 Collab. The rssential part for Babymetal was that they needef a song that was not written for them. They already had a song where one of the other groups did a 180 for them. And according to Nico and Kevin both were to busy with other Things, like how do you speak to a Goddess...Both were much to nervous at the beginning. For them they were nobodies compared to Babymetal. Babymetal saw this completly different. But this was the reason why they didn't had big arguments about the Collab. For Electric Callboy the pure Collab was already like a title. But they didn't expect such a huge number of steps, but I think both production Crews had a lot of Details to talk about and get everything in writing, like the kind of Humor that electric Callboy uses. Were there implications to consider. It was important for them that everything was concensual. So the Duo between Nico and Su was important as well as the Ratatata by all three girls directly behind. While they probably observed that Babymetal did not behave like a typical idol group, they had to be certain about possible legal implications.

Great reaction. Electric Callboy are from Germany, they formed in 2010, same as BABYMETAL, and have blown up in popularity over the last two or three years. This is such a good collaboration, but of course it is - Electric Callboy are great fun and BABYMETAL are so versatile that they can collaborate with pretty much anybody and they will fit in with their style and they make it look and sound almost effortless ... it takes a lot of hard work, talent and professionalism to make it look so easy. BABYMETAL were wanting to make a song people could dance along with like Electric Callboy's 'We Got The Moves' but they felt something was missing. They decided to ask EC if they would like to be involved so they went to see EC playing in Boston (they were both there at the same time last year) and met up backstage with them before the show. 'RATATATA' was the result. After a lot of back and forth and over 20 rewrites and variations etc they finally agreed on this final version. It is very much in the EC style, but make no mistake - it is a real 50-50 collaboration. You need to see a live performance - they've been having great fun performing it together at festivals around Europe since it was released. They played together twice during BABYMETAL's sets at FOX_FEST in Japan (events arranged and hosted by BABYMETAL in May). At Rock im Park and Rock am Ring in Germany and at Resurrection Fest in Spain BABYMETAL joined EC during their set then Nico and Kevin joined BABYMETAL in their set to perform it again.
