  • Are you a leader who struggles with nervousness when leading meetings, giving presentations, or addressing the public?
In this video, I share three essential strategies using the Kaizen method-small incremental improvements-to help you overcome fear and become a more effective leader and communicator.
1️⃣ Small Doses of Consistent Practice:
Set aside 10-15 minutes a day to practice speaking in front of a mirror or by recording yourself. This helps you internalize the skills necessary to master this communication medium and make it instinctual.
2️⃣ Request Candid Feedback from Mentors and Colleagues:
Ask a trusted colleague or mentor to give you constructive feedback on your speeches. Request a run-through and ask for one thing you did well and one thing you could improve upon.
    3️⃣ Embrace Incremental Challenges:
Intentionally increase the complexity of the situations you put yourself in regarding public speaking and presentations. If you're used to speaking in front of your team where it’s comfortable, seek opportunities to address another team you don’t know at a departmental meeting or an event outside of work.
These strategies will help boost your skills and confidence over time, making you a highly capable leadership communicator.
