My father operated heavy equipment his entire working life. The highest compliment he could pay someone is what he said after we watched this video, 'the guy knows his gear'.
This was less of a shipping container move than how good is Casey at maneuvering his rollback through tight spaces. Great video. 😁
So True , I agree
I am constantly amazed at his backing up and maneuvering skills
@@paulwebber1657 Me too
He is good, but it wasn't that tight in that yard.
@@--_DJ_--Jesus would have had them move those white SUV dealies, NO reason for them to be left in the way like that.
And the fellers playing pocket pool sure could have moved them. 41:35
Folks, this is a true professional! I’ve been around a lot of towing companies in my lifetime and Casey is, hands down the best I have ever seen! It’s like watching perfection at its best! Love this channel!!!!
This is why it is so great to learn your work skills while you are young, Casey grew-up in the business, and now he is a Grand Master at his craft. Great to watch....I'm hooked.
If you're hooked id recommend recovery
Sorry I had to. I know lame joke lol ex tow op here
Vocational and hands-on apprentice training .. good hard work and manual labor .. cannot be beat and how our country was built. Blessings.
Casey has the best of both worlds. He works his own business and has fun with the variety of projects. And his reputation has grown to be "the man to call" for unusual jobs. You can tell his heart is in what he does and he enjoys it immensely. And to top it off, he loves his family and makes time for them. He enjoys giving to other people.
It's weird, though, that his wife posts under the name "Muksanim."
@@jakester455 Muksanim2012 is not Casey's wife. I am guy who lives near Washington, DC.
The two guys in the background by the grey pickup couldn't wait for the video. 😀
At the end of the job, while talking about the 2 trucks, it came to my mind they are like having a fork and a knife at your dining place. Each does its designed job nicely.
So it's not apples and oranges, it's,."knife and fork".😊
A good analogy.
Moving the red container...
"Tail wagging the dog" ! Amazing!
That rollback is the swiss army knife of tow trucks!! There are very few things I enjoy more than watching someone that is a master of their craft perform their work. Very nicely done Sir!!
That is a clever idea, using the under reach to move the truck around. I'm guessing that is not a new idea, just new to me. I am amazed at what that deck can do. It seems to have a lot more power than I thought it did. Sure made that job look easy.
So True , Using tool for , ALL of it's uses
I was wondering how he moved the truck. That just made a lot of sense. Thanks for the insight. I'm into aviation not trucking.
Considering the number of "shenanigans" you do.....keeping both makes the most sense !
Those 2 guys were very interested in watching for shenanigans.
aka: They Know Casey very well... I mean... wouldn't you? LOL!
give those guys the right (or wrong) tools and I bet they both turn into professional Shenaniganians themselves.
I'll give to ya that for having that colostomy bag hanging on your side. One would never even think you had that the way you work your a$$ off!
All the people I known who had a colostomy quit working, sat around the house & drew disability checks.
Your definitely a hard worker👍
I worked with a mid to late 70 year old electrician up to last year. He had a bag, not sure if it was a colostomy bag, but I think it was. He never let it slow him down, he'd had it for ages. Poor guy passed away in his sleep late last year. I had asked him at one point when he was going to retire, and he said all his friends retired and died, so he wasn't going to if he didn't have to. He made it happen.
The right trucks for whatever job. To me the rollback is the swiss army knife of your tool box. So happy to know that Ethan is back and mobile. Peace Out.
Swiss Army Knife was my thought too.
I double dog dare you to drive through California like that,
Double dog dare you!
Hahaha 🤣🎉❤
As long as you put lights back there and weights are OK don't see a problem
@@monkeybusiness63 That 40" seacan only weighs 3 or 4 tons empty so no problem.
@@monkeybusiness63 In California there is a max overhang law of two thirds the wheel base.
This was on private property, not on the road.
I'm loving Casey's shenanigans!!!
@@billsimmons7754 But with permits and enough money you can do it.
Such a pleasure to see how you so often help out those in need without being a "dogooder"..... :) Keep up the good work!
It looks like you can mover the truck with the remote. Is that correct?
When you said "I know I'm my head how it will work but my head and reality are 2 different things" all I thought of was every mechanical engineer ever! They don't ever think about how it's going to work or be made in real life.
….. or maintained… 🙄❤️🇷🇴
@@clivehorridge so true!
I don't think nowadays they even bother to think of that. Corporate probably told them it doesn't matter, if its difficult, the dealers make more money dealing with it.
Depends on the engineer. Most good engineers I know will think problems through and anticipate way more problems than will likely ever be encountered. Yet at the same time know when to stop and start executing on a design. Most of the time the designs that are flawed aren't caused by engineers, but by management who don't want to invest that tiny bit extra to make a quality product and pull the engineers off of doing what they know should be done so they can ship a shoddy product sooner and then slowly go out of business when everyone stops buying their low quality products. And of course the engineer gets blamed... On the other hand a lot of products would never ship if engineers were allowed to do everything that they wanted...
@@dougpark1025 That's a much more accurate description, particularly the parts about engineers getting blamed when management won't listen and engineers not knowing when to stop perfecting a product.
Other commenters either have no idea about what engineers do, or perhaps have dealt with one of the incompetent ones (there are a few incompetent people in all professions that give everyone else a bad name).
Casey, you chose some of the coolest tools of the trade.
I for one, definitely like the 'shenanigans' truck! Your shenanigans are always entertaining!
Casey always thinking outside the box and putting his equipment to work. If Casey can’t do it, it cannot be done!
Talk about serious back swing due to over hang. That sure beats a school bus hahaha.
I say as long as its breaking even on its use keep it. When you start to lose, then its time to start to think about getting rid of it. Once it paid off is when you see your bank account beginning to say thank you for keeping that second truck.
I'm sensing there will be outrage from the container moving community. 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for the video
That roll back is a sweet ride😊
Oh the fun one man can have in a day with the most basic but capable equipment. Keep'm coming👍
Nice camerawork, Ethan! And unbelievable placing and alignment, Casey!
Casey and Ethan, you both amazed me. There has yet a job you can't do. The both of you " rock "! Thank you for sharing 👌 😊
Great job moving those containers. Variety is the spice of life... so they say. It also lets you keep busy when rescue and towing isn't filling your day.
Well, it's been a short sharp ride from "maybe we sell the rollback now that we have the Zaklift" to "how would we live without it?"
Kind of surprised, how much you actually needed the rollback.
Ham, Eggs and Casey LaDelle, Good way to start my Day
I’ve seen many containers moved around construction yards and the ones that go most smoothly have these nylon skids/blocks that the leading edge of container slides on to reduce friction when pulling them onto the bed
Yes, I have them
They are called tire skates, and are amazing when trying to pull wrecked cars with busted up or locked up wheels up the bed.
@@firehydrant315 nope, he’s talking about container skates
@@CaseyLaDelle had no idea that they made those, super cool.
I love your shenanigans and how you drive that big truck like it's the family sedan. So smooth and easy. Great job
Ethan's laugh as the big container went by was the exact reaction I had 😆 this takes ocd to a new level, well done sir ✔️👏
I bet as every day goes by the idea of selling that truck changes
So Wise , Thank You . Another fine example of Casey and Ethan in action
Nice entertaining video. You might get a bunch more of shenanigans customers now. That rollback looks as cool as ever.
I enjoy watching you do this so much. I can’t tell you how enjoyable your videos are one of them.
Shenanigans truck FTW !!!! The carefully selected equipment that you have seems to be quite the model for a small business. Everything is purposeful but multifunctional at the same time. Keep it up Casey 🎉🎉🎉
I am so glad there are talented people like you out there to rescue people like me. I also now realize why you have so much extra gear aboard.
This truck is like the siwss army knife in your toolbox. 😆
Casey having fun with big Lego blocks. Thank you guys.
Can't wait for when Casey owns a Rotator truck.
It's amazing what that truck is capable of ! ! ! ! ! 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
Well people get stuck Casey takes care of them they need to move big stuff Casey takes care of that to thank you Casey 👍
Good job, Casey. For me, back in the day, we had more than one type of tow truck, which was made for many uses outside of vehicle recovery and towing. Mainly, I was an AAA driver, which meant I had a lot of relationships with shops, garages, and mechanics for emergency repairs for those stuck out on the road. Many times I even used my truck to move mechanics tool boxes from shop to shop using the AAA card of the mechanics needing the service, which, btw, was against the rules but was good karma for me helping AAA customers in return. Many times, my AAA customers have received the benefit of these relationships. It's a truck to do work with , so let her work.
I have learned as long as the guy shows up and you have a card, there is a pretty good chance he is taking your rig whether he should or not. The only time I have had a problem was an unregistered vehicle, and I made it clear before the guy was on his way. I'm not sure why CAA won't tow those, but thems the rules apparently. I've had guys at work use their CAA to get F350s back to the shop that were clearly not personal vehicles.
@@--_DJ_-- Agreed, in most cases if you had a valid card we were good to go, the unregistered thing was just a way to charge a commercial rate in most cases because AAA rates to contractors were so cheap. I mostly worked rural I-5 in northern ca so we tried to help as many people as we could anyway I could.
My friend is a big shipping container dealer and he uses a rollback to transport them. He made attachments for the wheel lift for lifting the containers up for blocks. He uses the wheel lift to support longer containers.
“I just thought of it right now” got a chuckle out of me.
That's the dream job work and play at the same time.
I once worked for a place that would deliver 40 foot containers on the back of a 25 foot flatbed. I told the driver I hope he threw some phone books up in the front of it to weigh it down. He looked at me funny because he didn't know what a phone book was.
It makes sense that the remote has an override feature when applying the manual brakes. It limits the likelihood of a careless operator attempting to/ or accidentally operating the remote while driving the truck
You can operate the remote with or without the parking brake on but not with the manual brake on so therefore you could still accidentally activate the remote while driving if you don't turn the remote off and place it somewhere out of the way
Pro tip of the day:
Casey leave the back end of the container on the ground.
Cross chain the front, pick up the front end with your bed. The container will straighten itself out for you.
Another beautiful truck I’m meant to say this before that’s a real nice truck and those front wheels big spike sticking out the side spokes gorgeous
Love your videos.
If you put a detachable crane in front of the fifth wheel. You can make shenanigans with the Western Star and a trailer.
Just an idea.
Little bit of bro love there as Casey got out of the rig, "Never fails to impress me." This might be a letter for HR.
It took me a few rewinds to see why you couldn't get straight with the first one 😂 good job getting them positioned in there.
Glad I saw this. Never would have occurred to me to have a tow truck move my storage shed.
Helpful hint if you want to try it. Put your 6x6 dunnage blocks at the very back of the bed, run the split line over them, when you tighten up it will lift the Sea-Can enough to get the bed under the box and it’s all yours then. Either way you got it !!!
Ethan's giggle at the visual absurdity as Casey started to drive with the last container echoed my giggle. Good to hear Ethan again. Great job to the both of you.
There is nothing like the sound of a good working diesel. With the surround speakers I could even feel the rumble in the floors in here. Amazing job Casey. You do yourself proud.
Shhh don't say that too loud. An injector will hear you!
You do shenanigans in both trucks Casey, we've all seen it lol.
Casey loves a good challenge. If no one else can do the job Casey certainly can ❤
I see you still have your "Road Warrior" spikes...awesome!
If it fits it ships😉👍🏻
Hey Casey !!! Remember ,, you had that truck ""SOLD"" until the motor issue !!! HAHA 🙂🙃😉😊
Yes it was. The buyer was waiting for me to tell him when it was ready to fly in and pick up.
AND THIS VIDEO IS WHY I LOVE YOUR ROLLBACK.....IT CAN DO SO MUCH STUFF.....AND YOU HAVE WAY MORE ATTACHMENTS FOR YOUR ROLLBACK THAN ANYBODY IN MY AREA.....KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND POSTING VIDEOS.....
I have to share a great cheat with you. Add a large long zip-tie to one end of your rim sling. It makes feeding it thru tight spots like that much easier. I’ve seen other tow companies do that. Just food for thought. As always, great content sir.
It’s actually not that great of a cheat code, and gets in the way far more than it helps. I don’t get this issue people have with simply threading the end through
Great job!, I'd bet that your remote receiver has a safety connection from the brake light circuit, either a separate wire or the feed is from the brake light circuit, which goes negative when you apply the brakes.
Casey is an artist with the controls of the rollback, that was great to watch!
We had to hold up the utility cables with a broom on a ladder leaned on a building for the loaded truck to clear the lines getting out of our yard.
Looks like you have wide open spaces.
Don't forget to look up once in awhile 😂😂
He is so professional! 😂😂😂
That was fun to watch. Hope you can keep both trucks in your fleet. 🎉
I LIKE ALL YOUR BIG TOYS, MAKES ME WISH I CHOSE A DIFFERENT CAREER PATH WHEN YOUNGER. I ENJOY SEEING WHAT YOU DO.
Every single time that I heard the word " Youth " I can't help but think of the line from the movie My Cousin Vinnie... " What's a Yoot ? "
Each vehicle has its unique abilities.... Great video.... Professional to the core....
I was thinking you had made a mistake getting this truck, but today's job proved me wrong. Job very well handled.
ETHAN!!! Good to see you back and well. Thanks for sharing. Was bored this morning. Lol
This is a great video for a "That's what she said!"
Hey, I was watching when you started with your friend Austin helping out and Grumpy. You had about 200 subscribers. Congrats on your successes and now 265K.
Great Job, Casey... that Roll back is an awesome vehicle..
Your talents behind the wheel are impressive..
MWP Cosby Tn.
Very nicely accomplished Casey. Thanks for this video.
Each of your trucks has its place in what job needs doing. Great video and nice work all around.
The tip of the hook explanation covered a curiosity I’ve had a while, thanks
good videos for your memories when ur old
With that 40 ft on I bet the steering was working well😂😂
good to see the rollback doing shenanigans. loved hearing ethan's laugh at the beginning! nice work guys.
That rollback is truly a big Swiss Army Knife. The only thing it lacks is a torch set.
Casey, if you do keep that, look into getting a winching brake switch installed. It's a switch on the dash that applies full service brake as if you were holding the brake pedal yourself. I believe it just plumbs into the main brake valve under the hood.
you make it look so dam easy Casey Thank you
Jack of all trades truck🤣🤣🤣 Master of none!!!🤣🤣🤣
I'm just sitting here shaking my head. Thanks for sharing what you do Casey.
Casey needs one of them K Whopper oil field bed trucks like old pegs got! Nice job moving those containers!
Those are a great way to fold 40’ containers in half
Love it when ya make it up as ya go along. Some times it works better that way. Sure you didn't have a lot of weight on the steering axle with that long container on the roll back good that you didn't have to move it very far and it was dry or at least mostly dry.
Casey is a beast, with the amount of work he does, wish I could still roll like that😂
I love seeing others get creative and not scared to use their equipment. For those who don't know what a NRC Roll Back can do, this is childs play. We have yard moved over 100 40 foot C-Cans like that. Some even loaded, although not heavily. Never a problem.
This one feels more like work than the recovery videos. LOL
Yes keep it! You get rid of all the fun stuff
The remote being tied into the brake switch makes sense to me somewhat, but it would only save you if you were trying to drive away with both the remote still on and the PTO engaged. It has probably saved a few sleep deprived drivers being set up that way.
Ask ZachLift when they are going to build a detachable rollback bed that attaches to the same frame mount and 5th wheel, maybe with a self steering tag axle for added length.
The problem with that is there’s no way to get around the height problem.
@@CaseyLaDelle dump the airbags, let out all the air in the tires and only tow cars or short loads.
