"The plastic is too hard, it hurts my elbow, the interior is dated, I don't know what year it is," Guys, the complaints about the Tacoma and Frontier is getting old. I just bought a 2014 Frontier pro 4x and it is one of the coolest trucks I've driven to date. Sure everything with wheels can be improved and I'm happy that Chevy can join the party. You guys drive way too many new cars and trucks to appreciate what long running vehicles still have to offer. so your use to everything new. Is this new truck really better? At least its another option for consumers to enjoy. Next year when the Colorado/Canyon are old and need updates, I can hear it now, "the dash is too soft, the screen is too big the plastic...................."
I just bought a new Frontier. I know if it not as nice at the new Toyota or Chevy but I got a great price on it compared to those two tucks. I also like the fact that it is an honest truck and dose not try to hide it. It rides like a truck but that is not a bad thing to me.
I got a Tacoma, and I love it. It's my everyday and play vehicle. 265K on it, and still runs perfect, that's what's important to me, not redesigned interior, sorry.
GM sponsored the event and the Colorado is the least capable offroad with the stupid air dam lol. They are all failing for shuddering and torque convertor failures. GM makes garbage 8 speed. Frontier is still best even in 2019
Love the oldness of the Nissan. I have a 97 Nissan pickup with almost 200k miles. Friend of mine has an 89' with nearly 600k. Their reliability is undeniable.
Watching this makes me miss my 2013 Frontier 4x4 SV 4 door with the 6 ft box I test drove the Colorado last year and was not impressed!! At least the Nissan would last 10x longer than the GM P.O.S.
All I’m saying is I have a 2015 tacoma 4x4 v6 and it is a champ. This car lasts a long time and can last a rough beating. I am very satisfied with my tacoma and I highly recommend it to the first truck buyers out there. I highly suggest it if you’re looking for a midsize truck. My friend has a Tacoma and racked up 200,000 Miles on it and he says it still drives like its brand new. The interior of the 2nd gen Tacoma’s are quite boring, but it is worth the money. Like I said, I highly suggest this truck for on and off the road.
lambdachi493 nope what? My dealer quoted me $38k for 5.3 sierra crew cab 4x4 and $35K for a v6 Colorado Ext cab 4x4 with very close to the same build options.
JPorkins88 You're comparing a GMC to a Chevy... Compare a Silverado to a Colorado. That'll be more accurate. I just built a Colorado on the Chevy website (Crew cab, long box, 4x4, LT trim) and it was $33,000 Then, I built a Silverado as well. (Crew cab, regular box, 4x4, LT trim) and it was $38,000.
Well at one point they criticize the radio on the Frontier, but if this were truly comparing apples to apples, any Frontier in that Colorado's price range would have the 5.0 inch color display if not the full NissanConnect dash system. It would also have the embroidered seat trim, chrome vent and gauge accents, and 60/40 rear seating all standard. This is essentially a bottom rung package and trim option SL Frontier vs the near best Colorado they could find. Misleading...
I love my 2015 Chevrolet Colorado Z71,Red Rock paint, fully loaded. I had twin exhaust put on mine. She sounds sweet and the get up and go is outstanding.
I'm interesting to see how the long run. the Tacoma and Frontier may be dated trucks, but they have proven reliable over time. It be cool to compair the same 3 trucks 2 years from now. I had a 2007 Frontier for a work truck. Base, v6, rwd. Loved it. I lasted 300 000 miles. I still miss it. The funny thing I found with GM trucks is how they call it an off road package but the front bumper is down so low it has a horrible approach angle. On every GM truck.
Unbolt the air dam in 1 min and go. Pickuptrucks.com did a test/review of the global trucks and this Colorado kick the Toyota Hilux Butt off road which is said to be better then the US Tacoma. special-reports.pickuptrucks.com/2012/08/2012-global-pickup-shootout.html
farmerallis You shouldn't have to take parts off the truck to make it off road ready if the company offers an off road package. The off road package should come with a different front bumper.
You said they all we're 4x4, but the Nissan that Chevy provided wasn't a 4x4. The shots of the interior didn't have the select knob for the 4 wheel drive. Chevy gave you a base Frontier

2023 and my 2015 Frontier runs and tows like a champ. The frumpy utilitarian interior handles mud and grime much better than fancier interiors. And the 4.0L V6 is so perfect, they put the same engine in the newer generation. Enough said...
I bought their last model Colorado a month ago and I love it. It looks like an all American truck. This will give me more time to get the next colorado when the diesel model come out.
my first truck was a 1998 tacoma that i got as a hand me down, i have a 2013 tacoma prerunner now and i love it. Wish it had a little more power but nothing a supercharger or turbo cant fix =)
Whatever man. I thought Nathan was comical. Bikinis! Having been in CA several times I can certainly understand the distraction. It's hard not to look and comment.
Correct that would pretty much be the definition of refreshed. Well maybe its a little more than refreshed but still not rebuilt I bet its still going to ride on the same frame and parts of the interior will be leftover onto it. Im interested to see it but I can guarantee it won't be much different than the colorado other wise the price would be too high also the colorado is cheaper than the old tacoma which also they will probably raise the price and be even higher. Of course this is all speculation so we shall see.
+Brandon Agpaoa 2016 Tacoma with drum brakes. Sounds like new tech if it was 1920. I have a 1994 toy 4x4. Bought it new and nothing since then makes me wanting to buy a new truck.
People- be thankful for the continual refinement of older designs. All those bugs worked out keeps more money in your pocket (due to reliability) the longer you own one of these. Also lightwieght interior plastics help keep weight down, and improve Cg. Encourage all the manufacturers to keep making these compact/midsize/ efficient trucks- whatever generation of design they are using.
I hope everyone that reads this realizes that there is a reason people bought the Tacoma in the first place. Chevy/GMC couldn't come close to competing the first time around with the Colorado/Canyon while Ford halted sales of the Ranger, & now they just made the mistake of showing the world their new truck without seeing whats up at the Toyota camp. I hate to say it but GM = fail on this one. Toyota Tacoma is an American standard for durability and reliability.
You guys hammer Nissan and Toyota for not making changes to their trucks. They both got it right 10 years ago so there isn't a need to redesign, update or try to fool us again like GM does. Frankly, there are two reasons why GM changes their models constantly: 1-Nissan builds a better vehicle and 2-Toyota builds a better vehicle. I've owned a lot of vehicles and grew up thinking I would always be a GM guy but over the last 35 years I have to say that I've been much more impressed with the foreign made vehicles than the American made ones. I've owned two Nissan Frontiers and don't ever plan on wasting my time or dollars on the junk GM produces. If someone wanted to give me a Chevrolet I wouldn't drive it.
I truly like what GM did. It looks handsome. I had to drive a Chevy S10 in school and it kind of fell apart but it was like 15 years old and very abused! The only girl in school with a truck and I miss it so much!
The GM V6 is a massaged version of the one in the LaCrosse and Traverse. Very carlike, inside and out. But not all buyers in this class want a carlike truck.
LR4TLC200 yea. The tacoma is the king of off road and of mud size trucks period. The Tacoma has the best ground clearance of any stock pickup, mid size or large size. Will stick with Toyota forever
oh wow, the chevy has slightly more horse power and a minimally higher towing capacity than the tacoma, oh whoopie.... the Colorado for being a Z71 off road package doesn't look anymore off road worthy than a Chevy Traverse, no ground clearance whatsoever, I will be keeping my tacoma, great trucks.. toyota proved they could put an exceptional interior in a truck with the redesigned tundra, so if the interior is the only gripe with the tacoma, then watch out, because I believe further greatness is coming
I'm bias towards the tacoma because I own one, but I also have enough sense to realize that the frontier is also a much higher quality truck than the colorado. I feel that they were just pro american so they let their personal beliefs dictate the overall review of the two truck.
Ryan S lol yeah, its even funnier because the colorado probably isnt even made i the US ... yet the tacoma is lol... a Oh and nissn is obviously better than GM ... no question. ..
i own a nissan frontier 2001 4x4 crew cab and still now love it i modified my intake and exhaust its add more power for 15 years of service.... im planning to get a tacoma what do you think but price wise nissan is more cheaper than tacoma...
Gosh I miss my 2006 Dakota. THAT was the big small truck and it was my right arm. When I had to rebuild my house every piece of furniture and all of the cabinets, flooring, the bathtub, everything came home in that thing. I just can't have a sedan. All I could do is take people to dinner in one.
I saw an updated Nissan Frontier picture and it looks good. Also Nissan is planning a 2.8 Cummins diesel in their truck as well. As long as Nissan doesn't use their CVT transmission in the new redesign it will be good and worth waiting for. This new Chevy Truck aint so bad either.
I wish Toyota had stuck with the 2nd gen design, it was perfect. Really disappointing that they took a perfectly good truck and messed it up. Hope someone from Toyota reads this and does something about it. A happy and proud 2 gen owner.
That is one UuuuuuGly truck. Id take either the Tacoma and Frontier without thinking twice even though they are older. I know they are trying to improve MPGs but that front airdam is so low it looks like it would rival a few minivans for scrapping on the curb let alone offroading.
Lol like many people have said, it can be removed easily and you go ahead and take the dinosaurs. While that colorado has a much nicer interior. More power with better fuel economy, better towing, more features, and more comfort. You must have poor taste.
snooplikesbacon i dont know anyone that really tows more than a couple of quads with their compact pickup. Also those dinosaurs are proven trucks with an impeccable track record for reliability, toughness, and off road prowess. The bones of the frontier especially are those of the much bigger titan. Sure the interior isnt as great but instead they focused on other little details like keeping all the vital components tucked in within the beefy frame.
I disagree...I think the new Colorado's look sharp, and I also like the Canyon's. However, the Rangers, from like 2003 and up I think looked the best...they looked like trucks, not SUV's.
I disagree, I think it's a really good looking truck especially for a Chevy (I hate the look of Silverados). I will be curious to see how they look when built up with 2.5-3" lift and 33" tires. I will be even more curious to see how Toyota answers with the next generation of Tacoma. Having said that, I still love my '06 Tacoma. I have modded the crap out of it with lift, suspension, tires, and a lot of interior features that come stock on the new Colorado (e.g., heated leather seats, etc).
my 2006 Frontier has been bullet proof. styling ? still looks mean and the 4 spoke wheels on my model are beautiful!! get your heads out of your asses guys!
I had a Colorado years ago, it was an amazing vehicle, it never let me down and it only had the I5 in it. I tried several times to get it stuck, and the only way I could was if it was completely buried!
I want a truck when I buy a truck. I expect a truck to be sturdy, tough and able to kick butt off road and carry lots of stuff. I want a car when I buy a car. I expect a car to have low ground clearance and be cushy and quiet inside. I vote Tacoma, even though it's "old".
So more power/towing, better mileage, and the best interior for roughly the same price as the competition. Seems like a great option. Since I won't be buying a vehicle for another 3 years I will get to see Toyota and nissans answer to the Colorado which should be good. Tough competition is always great for the consumer and I hope to get 1 of the 3 by 2017
I personally have a frontier. I love the truck 4 it simplicity. It doesn’t have a lot of electronics that have 2b learned, and it’s torque is lovely. I do wish they made a bigger display screen however and better options 4 upgrade as Toyota does with the Tacoma
The frontier is the right size. If Nissan keeps that formula and just updates everything it will be the sure winner. The Colorado is a 9/10th Silverado and thus just go ahead and step up to a full size for probably less money.
I have done some checking. The diesel version for the Canyon is going to have a timing belt. If a company is wanting to have a long lasting vehicle, it should have a timing chain. Every 5 or 6 years the timing belt will need to be replaced. I do not know what will happen to the engine if the belt breaks.
how about a review from people who keep their car for 20 years rather than 5 and don't get the princess package on everything. HP doesn't matter with trucks it's the torque that counts.
It looks like a nice truck and the features are great for its class but the problem with GM is its reputation for quality and longevity when compared to the foreign brands. I really hope GM decided to build a quality product over crazy profit margins because we all know how that went (bail out)... Toyota, however, IMO is getting greedy and definitely living off their name. Tacoma's are known for huge frame rust problems so be careful out there and do your due diligence on any of these trucks before buying...
FYI: Their first time in Toyota Pickup, 4Runner, or Tacoma. Seating position in this shared platform has been has been like that for decades folks, since the beginning!
i have a 2005 gmc canyon z71...the truck is awesome imo. fits my needs perfectly. i have always wanted a tacoma though. i liked the look better than the nissan and gm
After taking several years off from the small truck business due to slack sales, GM had lots more time to come up with a newer design that is more catlike than the other two competitors. Truck guys are loyal to brands so I seriously doubt that a Toyota owner or a Nissan owner will switch to a GM.
rudolph813 to each their own, the colorado is actually bigger than the other 2, it depends wether a person wants reliability and great resale value or save a little on gas
Am I the only one who hates all this technology in vehicles? What I love about the Tacoma, particularly the TRD equipped version, is the available 6-speed manual transmission, push button locking differential, Bilstein shocks and BFG rubber. These are items I use in a truck, not touch-screeens in the dash. I hope Toyota brings us the diesel Hilux and Volkswagen... the Amarok! I'm curious to see these new GMs tow, haul and go off-road. From this review, it seems GM thinks small trucks are only around-town commuters.
the ranger was way to small for me, and if dodge remade the dakota I bet it would be nicer then the previous models, ford has a world wide ranger thats the size of these trucks, you just can't buy it here in the US and Canada
I think I know why they went for the console shifter, but god I wish the Colorado had a column shifter. I just like those in my pickups no matter what size. Would have opened up the space inside a little bit, but hey, it seems like a nice truck. I'm definitely interested in the coming diesel engine
The chevy colorado looks nice. Now all gm needs to do is make an ss version of this truck with either the 5.3 from the silverado or just turbo the v6 engine that's already offered.. that would be awesome!
I'm thinking, once Nissan comes out with that Cummins diesel with a new body style, its over for GM. There little diesel won't compete, but what if Tacoma new body style had a diesel option? War is On!
True. I was looking at an SV value package today for only $28k. Utili track system with tie down cleats, spray in bed with extender and trailering package, locking rear diff. dual-climate zone etc. 5 speed v6 is a beast but worse MPG. However, extremely torquey! Thing has ballzzz. Way less than the 2016 Colorado and Tacoma
Since both the Taco and Frontier essentially are 90's designs it isn't surprising that their age shows. The GM twins are a big jump over those trucks. They will probably sell fairly well. (put me in the "likes the GMC version camp ;-) )
@thefastlanetruck so what do you all think of the 2016 Tacoma vs 2016 Colorado? Thumbs up if you want TFLT to do a 2016 Tacoma vs 2016 Colorado comparison and review!! I feel like Colorado is overall a better truck but the Tacoma has the reliability factor--which isn't in most side-by-side reviews...
What is that big piece of plastic hanging from the front of the Chevy? That will get ripped off in a week! Those who want proven off road capability, reliability and resale know to stick with the Tacoma!
So far I like the new Colarados and Canyons. But the Ford Rangers, from around 2003 and up, had the best looks exterior wise...they actually looked like trucks, not suv's.
I would never buy a gasoline small truck besides a tacoma. Reliability, descent off-road capabilities, etc.. GM's s10 and colorado have had some issues over the years.
Chevy looks great too bad so many people are dying in GM vehicles they need to put much more emphasis on quality ,reliability . I èd buy one after a couple of years of wait and see if it falls apart.
+Jose Camacho I don't know much about cars but the Colorado is here why? it's new and I don't even like Chevy regardless it's good but I feel like it shouldn't try to compete here its trying to hard lol
I laugh at all the people that are so happy because of the diesel. With all the epa crap that has ruined our diesel engines, I don't think it will be worth it. They aren't as reliable as they used to be, they have much higher maintenance costs, the fuel economy isn't as grand as it used to be, diesel costs more etc. Diesels will only become a viable alternative again once we get these EPA thugs/criminals in line again. They do make sense in the larger trucks because of the added pulling power though, that's about were the benefits end. You won't be pulling much with these little trucks though anyways.
EPA thugs? I am as anti-government as they come, but in China they have to wear goddamn masks on their faces and have "Beijing cough" due to lack of government regulation and rampant pollution. I think our air is more important than diesel engines.
Sheldon Miller Automobiles are not even responsible for 10 percent of the pollution in North America. This can be said for China as well, all thier factories run unregulated for the most part just pumping endless crap into the air. In North America, our factories are mandated to have scrubbers for all outgoing air. We have solutions now for pollution anyways, it's just convincing the governments to pull the trigger with them. With the EPA in charge, all they care about is taxing everybody and never do anything to actually fix the problems. They are to busy being the most profitable organization with thier big wigs living the life.
William Stewart Here is a statistic from a good source. If you think it's biased because it's from the EPA, then cut this statistic in half and use that instead. "Automobiles are not even responsible for 10 percent of the pollution in North America." That is completely wrong. Cargo ships and cars cause a lot of pollution, and people are being too stubborn about things like this. Clean energy from the sun or from the wind is better for the environment. I love BBQ and beer, I love shooting skeet, and I love women, but being so stubborn about gasoline engines and this kind of pollution is just dumb. Cars account for 75 percent of carbon monoxide released into the atmosphere in america. It is the gas that is primarily responsible for global warming, which kills oceans and raises sea levels and makes massive storms that cost taxpayers a buttload. Here's a statistic for you. www.epa.gov/airquality/peg_caa/carstrucks.html Here's another: www.ucsusa.org/our-work/clean-vehicles/car-emissions-and-global-warming I have no idea where you got ten percent, but 10 percent is still awful when our children are breathing it.
Sheldon Miller Jetliners, trains, transport trucks, livestock, and ships pump more c02 and nox into the atmosphere than passenger vehicles. That being said, conservative estimates for electrical production pollution are 40%, real estimates put it around 55-60 percent. Passenger vehicles are less than 10% with the other fossil burning vehicles I mentioned earlier accounting for roughly another 15 percent. Livestock is said to account for another 25-30 percent.
i enjoy these guys. but one thing i dont like with any matchups is the fact unless they are al the new updated models it means nothing, chevy, ford, dodge, toyota are all good trucks. im a toyota guy myself. its my preferences. once the new tacoma and new frontier comes out then i want a matchup.
I prefer the Nissan for simplicity and the old design. I don't care about the interior, don't go around feeling the dash. No fancy gadgets.
i specifically chose my frontier because it had manual 5 speed plus windows and locks...hell with all that electric just more problems down the road.
"The plastic is too hard, it hurts my elbow, the interior is dated, I don't know what year it is," Guys, the complaints about the Tacoma and Frontier is getting old. Tony Helton
drove my nissan frontier for 6 years never had a problem with it. it got totalled in an accident :( miss my little truck.
Same here. I jut got a new (to me) Frontier. Solid, honest vehicle.
I started saving up for a Frontier after driving one that the company had as a fleet vehicle.
I had a Frontier from 2006 -2013. Sold it with 100k miles and never had a problem. Frontier was a great truck.
IMO the frontier is the best of the three it’s a great little truck
I got a Tacoma, and I love it. It's my everyday and play vehicle. 265K on it, and still runs perfect, that's what's important to me, not redesigned interior, sorry.
I just bought a 2015 Nissan Frontier SV 4x4 and I LOVE IT!!
What's the point of a video comparing 4x4 trucks when they don't even drive them off-road?
Tacomaholic come on its for the bikinis 😋 which we don’t get to see😪
GM sponsored the event and the Colorado is the least capable offroad with the stupid air dam lol. They are all failing for shuddering and torque convertor failures. GM makes garbage 8 speed. Frontier is still best even in 2019
I bought a 2015 Colorado yesterday... LT package. I absolutely love it. It does feel like a bigger truck than what it is.
Can't wait to drive any of them in about 2035 when I can afford one.
Toyota, in terms of trucks, is always one of the best, if not the best. Great reliability.
Huh? Chevy flew these guys out to test the truck? I'm not shocked they liked the Chevy.
I am pretty sure that these guys would give an HONEST review no matter what.
+mattfire141 right,,, not like it's Business or anything.
I absolutely love my Frontier.
who do you think these jock riders would choose when POS chevy (rusts out like dodge) sponsored the video
Frontier is nice for me. I’m have one 2016
Love the oldness of the Nissan. I have a 97 Nissan pickup with almost 200k miles. Friend of mine has an 89' with nearly 600k. Their reliability is undeniable.
Ka is life
old nissan yes, anything that is after like 2002 is not worth a shit
+Gerardo Linares basically after they stopped making regular cabs
i have an 09 XE and have done NOTHING but add gas and oil and not one problem...knock on wood...lol
+Mad Mike If only they made regular cabs I would love to own another nissan pickup
Watching this makes me miss my 2013 Frontier 4x4 SV 4 door with the 6 ft box

Only thing I cant get over is that a Ext Cab 4x4 Colorado costs almost the same as a 5.3 silverado 4x4 crew cab.
Nope
Nope. The Crew Cab Silverado is $34,000. The Crew Cab Colorado is $25,000.
lambdachi493 nope what? My dealer quoted me $38k for 5.3 sierra crew cab 4x4 and $35K for a v6 Colorado Ext cab 4x4 with very close to the same build options.

J.A.Grami Shitty vehicles if you ask me
Chevy really needs to re-think those front ends. they belong on mini-vans... not pickup trucks
Relp I think it looks great!
thats where the canyon comes into play, personaly i prefer the colorado (lines and i prefer blue over red)
Bill Yates
They dont look horrible... they look like they are going to get destroyed... approach angles of a Minivan
They look like rzr's
at least the GMC one looks like a truck
Btw, you guys are, in my opinion, the best car reviewers. Lots of exclusive and first time content, keep it up.

I appreciate the comments regarding the Nissan and Toyota. Having experience with both, I wholeheartedly agree.

GM made the lower valence of these trucks easily removable. They come off with just a few bolts.
chevydiesel350015 psh, why trust a website of experts when 3rd world warlords all endorse the Hilux?
farmerallis
You shouldn't have to take parts off the truck to make it off road ready if the company offers an off road package. The off road package should come with a different front bumper.
TheCobruhAlienat0r it's for aerodynamics, when you want more mpg, you keep it on. When you go off roading take it off.
I love my 2010 frontier crew cab..still haven't had any problems, but Toyota though got to give them props!
You said they all we're 4x4, but the Nissan that Chevy provided wasn't a 4x4. The shots of the interior didn't have the select knob for the 4 wheel drive. Chevy gave you a base Frontier
Guys, keep sharing your thoughts & smiles. Nothing far better than humorous wisdom hold in regard across the miles.
Love my 2010 Frontier. If you want fancy you're gonna pay for it.
i have an 09 bud....reliable as hell...pos chevy sponsored video
I still prefer the taco over the rest I know is the same truck style since 05 but it's my choice!!!
The Tacoma is a TRUCK it's a real truck. Not a leather luxury "truck." Stop complaining about the interior and seats or whatever because it's a truck. It's super tough and gets the job done.

Rename this video "Swervin and Pervin" hahaha. Just picked up my ColoradoZ71. Love it.
Holy shit, guys, keep it in your pants. It was funny the first time, then it just got childish and annoying.
Bikinis!
LOL
Whatever man. I thought Nathan was comical. Bikinis!
Having been in CA several times I can certainly understand the distraction. It's hard not to look and comment.
+1 It just makes you look pathetic. So drop revving everything so we can hear that it sounds like a sewing machine and grow up. That is all.
yea it reminded me of a computer gamer that leaves home for the first time in a month to restock on Ramen noodles and sees girls walking around
Lol. The 2016 Tacoma will blow the competition away. These guys make me miss home
Brandon Agpaoa doubt it its just getting refreshed not rebuilt
allday199715 actually it has a brand new engine, interior and exterior will be different.
I agree with you 100%
The Chevy Colorado rocks. Looks good and sounds like it's got the mojo to back it up.
I'm keeping my Tacoma. Nothing beats dependability!!!
Yea TFL, let's "matchup" the all new Colorado with two 10 year old truck. this makes a lot of sense...
The Chevy is huge pile of crap. With this front bumper you can`t go over even a road bump
LR4TLC200 yea. The tacoma is the king of off road and of mud size trucks period. The Tacoma has the best ground clearance of any stock pickup, mid size or large size. Will stick with Toyota forever
Tacoma=Supra in the Inside
Frontier=GT-R Skyline in the inside
Colorado=Camaro in the inside
oh wow, the chevy has slightly more horse power and a minimally higher towing capacity than the tacoma, oh whoopie.... the Colorado for being a Z71 off road package doesn't look anymore off road worthy than a Chevy Traverse, no ground clearance whatsoever, I will be keeping my tacoma, great trucks.. toyota proved they could put an exceptional interior in a truck with the redesigned tundra, so if the interior is the only gripe with the tacoma, then watch out, because I believe further greatness is coming
well the tacoma and nissan didn't have leather.... ohh bikinis
Agree with you man...I love my 2010 frontier and I also favor tacomas they are such great trucks.
I'm bias towards the tacoma because I own one, but I also have enough sense to realize that the frontier is also a much higher quality truck than the colorado. I feel that they were just pro american so they let their personal beliefs dictate the overall review of the two truck.
Ryan S lol yeah, its even funnier because the colorado probably isnt even made i the US ... yet the tacoma is lol... a
Oh and nissn is obviously better than GM ... no question. ..
Tacoma and Frontier are the best!
Nissan is garbage
i own a nissan frontier 2001 4x4 crew cab and still now love it i modified my intake and exhaust its add more power for 15 years of service.... im planning to get a tacoma what do you think but price wise nissan is more cheaper than tacoma...
MXshredder125
How to disagree like a boss!!!
I have modded the crap out of it with lift, suspension, tires, and a lot of interior features that come stock on the new Colorado (e.g., heated leather seats, etc).
those GM midsize trucks look nice, but am happy with my 4.3 v6 sierra. I'm getting 19mpg in 4dr crew cab
my 2006 Frontier has been bullet proof. styling ? still looks mean and the 4 spoke wheels on my model are beautiful!! get your heads out of your asses guys!
SO the Colorado Has more power, MUCH better MPG, and the nicest interior.
Why would you even consider a Tacoma or Frontier
reliabilty. price. ruggedness. off road abilty.
I don't care what the other two look like or their features I'll still buy another taco :)
Bikinis are nice, what is in them is better.
FYI: Their first time in Toyota Pickup, 4Runner, or Tacoma.
Seating position in this shared platform has been has been like that for decades folks, since the beginning!
I've been waiting for this video!! Awesome!
Diesel, Diesel, diesel! Everybody with me now! Diesel, diesel, diesel!
Nathan reminded me of a computer gamer that leaves home for the first time in a month to restock on Ramen noodles and sees girls walking around
i have a 2005 gmc canyon z71...the truck is awesome imo. fits my needs perfectly. i have always wanted a tacoma though. i liked the look better than the nissan and gm
After taking several years off from the small truck business due to slack sales, GM had lots more time to come up with a newer design that is more catlike than the other two competitors. Truck guys are loyal to brands so I seriously doubt that a Toyota owner or a Nissan owner will switch to a GM.
i seriously dought it too
guy proulx well i'm a chevy guy that doesn't want or need a 40k full size truck. I'll gladly take the rwd version of this truck.
rudolph813 to each their own, the colorado is actually bigger than the other 2, it depends wether a person wants reliability and great resale value or save a little on gas
The Colorado will always look better than the taco and frontier great job GM very proud of you also great review guys
Funny that Isuzu makes the engine for this and the diesel truck LOL. I'd still take a TACO any day.
You guys are the best. Thanks for the video.
I bet fords gonna make a truck to compete with the GM small trucks
ford ranger is already there from a long time but dodge should bring the dakota back .
they ended production of the ranger, plus the ranger was smaller then these trucks, what I mean is that ford should make a midsized truck
i saw a 2013 or a 2014 ranger models here in ford company in kuwait .
In north america they ended the ranger, still make it in other world markets
the ranger was way to small for me, and if dodge remade the dakota I bet it would be nicer then the previous models, ford has a world wide ranger thats the size of these trucks, you just can't buy it here in the US and Canada
I think I know why they went for the console shifter, but god I wish the Colorado had a column shifter. I just like those in my pickups no matter what size. Would have opened up the space inside a little bit, but hey, it seems like a nice truck. I'm definitely interested in the coming diesel engine
Wanna test ride quality? Drive around New Orleans for a little while.
War is On!
That frontier was not a 4wd. The SV badge on the tailgate would have read SV 4X4
They were only driving on the road in warm, dry weather, so it really didn't matter for the sake of this review.
Toyota Tacoma TRD off-roading is the BEST!
Smart.. Rev those just started cold engines
What is that big piece of plastic hanging from the front of the Chevy? That will get ripped off in a week! Those who want proven off road capability, reliability and resale know to stick with the Tacoma!
Zinizzle 100% agree bro
So far I like the new Colarados and Canyons. But the Ford Rangers, from around 2003 and up, had the best looks exterior wise...they actually looked like trucks, not suv's.
I would never buy a gasoline small truck besides a tacoma. Reliability, descent off-road capabilities, etc.. GM's s10 and colorado have had some issues over the years.
Ive been waiting for this review
I like they Colorados, except for the low hanging front end cause I don't like plastic...
Chevy looks great too bad so many people are dying in GM vehicles
they need to put much more emphasis on quality ,reliability .
I èd buy one after a couple of years of wait and see if it falls apart.
can you buy the Toyota Hilux in america? In my opinion the best small truck you can buy in europe.
so far not in the states.
No, I have not seen any in the states. However I came here from Central America and you see them everywhere over there
A stick shift will not be available on a 4x4 or with the V-6.
They made a bad decision not offering a stick with the 4x4.
Thanks for cold reving the engine on the taco the future customer appreciated that 👊🤣
I don't get why people are butt hurt about this comparison video I think they did good
+RedNeckRusterTales It may have been a little biased against one of the trucks ;) Haha.
Well they used a 2015 Colorado but they used older models for the Tacoma and the Frontier which isn't a fair comparison
+Jose Camacho I don't know much about cars but the Colorado is here why? it's new and I don't even like Chevy regardless it's good but I feel like it shouldn't try to compete here its trying to hard lol
The Tacoma looks nice. The colorado looking from the front looks like a crossover suv.
Well said.
Here's a statistic for you. www.epa.gov/airquality/peg_caa/carstrucks.html
Here's another:
www.ucsusa.org/our-work/clean-vehicles/car-emissions-and-global-warming
I have no idea where you got ten percent, but 10 percent is still awful when our children are breathing it.
Cant wait for the off-road review!
i enjoy these guys. but one thing i dont like with any matchups is the fact unless they are al the new updated models it means nothing, chevy, ford, dodge, toyota are all good trucks. im a toyota guy myself. its my preferences. once the new tacoma and new frontier comes out then i want a matchup.
2016 Toyota Tacoma = death for Colorado!
Rare to hear about a truck with more HP than TQ. Wonder how good it will tow and haul stuff.
getting paid to make a truck look good.
