Suggestion to make it thockier: dont use that foam. Use polyfills instead. Thinner foam usually creates a high pass filter so you get a thockier sounding board, top that with a tempest tape mod and you'll have quite a thocky board!
Although the metal plate is a problem though if you can find a pom or pc replacement it'll sound even better

followed this guide for my C2 build. Did the retro version as its for work and with Holy Panda switches it sounds great.
Hey if you use a screw driver and put in under the stabilizer and move it side to side you can get them out.

Great video ima gona be picking the retro color c2 for a new work key board and doing the same mods minus the caulking. The one thing I'm nervous about tho is lubing the switches and i was wondering if the gateron g pro browns that are factory lubed will give me a similar sound. Also that way I can practice lubing on the cheap keychron switches the retro comes with instead of anything I actually spent money on.
oh nice, the gateron g pro browns give a more tactile feedback so it may sound and feel and bit clicky but it shouldnt be much of a difference. Goodluck!

i used the stock stabilizers which came pre lubed

Yea they're oem and was able to use a set of keycaps i liked off of amazon which were also oem

I just used masking tape

In you opinion What is louder for the keychron C1 red or browns stock switches?
The brown gateron pro switches are tactile and the reds are linear. Because of that bump, imo the reds are more silent, especially when lubed
But beware, it will be hard putting in stabilizer from then on.
