I like how their lips, the audio, and the subtitles all decided to just go their own separate ways.
You see, we are watching from camera man's perspective, so the language got auto-translate and the subtitles is the thought. Since camera man has to do it to so many different languages, so just give a break.

What a fantastic movie. "Are you not entertained?" Heck, yes, I was. Kung Fu Hustle is a comedy classic. I love how Mom and Pop were the two baddest asses of them all.
It's one of the greatest movies I've seen.. it's incredible

Fun fact. Yuen Wah wasn't just a one-time stunt double. He is one of the greatest martial artists of all times and did dozens of movies. That's why he was picked for this movie. Kung Fu Hustle has countless easter eggs, hommages and inside jokes, basically every second name, action or sentence is a reference or callback to older movies. The more you know about kung fu movie history, the better this movie becomes. I consider myself a buff but did catch only a quarter or so. There are some clips here on YT that explain a lot of those references but even they say they only scratch the surface.

Xiao Long Nü (what they called "Dragon's Daughter") is a popular fictional chinese heroine. I suppose the subtitles was going for a similarly famous female character that the international audience would understand.
(Spoiler alert: they are not similar at all)
Incredibly good Kung Fu movie, plenty of action and hilarious with an outstanding creativity.

This is one of the movies that is incredibly funny in various dubs. I've watched it in Cantonese, English and Hindi and ive laughed like an idiot every time
I've watched Kung Fu movies since I was 9yo back in the 80's. Sunday morning TV and then renting them at the local VHS stores, seen hundreds and hundreds of them and this movie is easily in the top 3! Which is #1 depends on which one I am watching at the time, but this is an absolutely great movie! I hope the rumors of a KFHII are true!

This movie was so awesome. It is one of the few movies that I don't mind watching again every few years. It is ashamed that version 2 was not made. Supposedly there will be a sequel coming out.

Me, my brother and my cousin watched this movie when we was younger, and in that time its looks incredible good, like, we found ourselves paralyzed by the cgi effects, and after that day, all of our games(dont know how to translate it well, but i'm talking about the game childrens play like hide n seek)became about fight each other as if we were great fighters, this movie brought really good moments for us.

Back in the old days in my old hometown of NYC in the 1970s, WNEW TV ch.5 had kung foo movies at 1.00P.M. every Saturday afternoon. I rarely missed a movie and on Monday all my boy classmates would talk about it during lunch time. When TV was still fun to watch! 😊

Hilarious comedy combination with incredible martial arts action. If you were to remove the comedy it would still be one of best martial arts films ever made.

One of my favorite movies. I prefer the original Cantonese to the english version. Has fabulous music. A great movie.
The Spanish dub is superb too, manages to adapt a lot of the jokes in a very clever way like switching the Cantonese for Andalusian Spanish xd

I didn't know china has been making indestructible flip flops since the 1940s.
Yeah and they even stay on your feet while fighting as if they are glued on with Crazy Glue. Other RUclips videos show the fight scene between the "Beast" and the couple he challenged and his flip flops never come off.
The special effects and action in this and Shaolin soccer are what convinced Oda that live action One Piece was could work.
No joke how Chinese martial artists thought kung fu worked during the boxer rebellion in the 1800s. Some of the Chinese rebels thought the enemies bullets would be useless against there king fu when they were possessed by the spirits of their ancestors
I still wanna this character in a fighting game as a guest. Probably Street Fighter.
