The way stephen chow introduced the villain is really genius in writing. Before this scene happened, he was just some old man locked in a cell. Minding his own business. He's also locked in a secluded cell and very heavily guarded making us the viewers wondering what this old man did to get locked like that in the first place. And then, later, we know what his capable of. We saw him catch a bullet in point blank range ease. Here, we see his true power. He's stronger than both hero and heroine combine. Faster and more durable. The only thing that caught him off guard is the lion roar move. We saw him basically bodied these two with ease.
It's a villain trope that's been sadly lost in the sea of "cool mastermind" and "badass evil guy" characters. @@conanhighwoods4304 only reason the beast turned the tide was the lotus dart pen thing Kinda parallels the Landlord and Landlady resorting to using the bell to amplify Lion's Roar BUT, that at least still needed the martial arts despite also using additional devices

For me, the landlady's determination to dismantle the bell's head while being beaten up is the most iconic and inspiring in a way. All 8 hits with her palms before the head is successfully removed👏👏👏👏

I’ll never forget seeing this in the theater with my mom for the first time. Everyone was laughing so hard the whole time it was hilarious, especially the running part omfg 😂🤣😂
What year when this movie on theater?
@@Vito-hw5nb 2004
The running scene was one of my favorites too especially at the end when the lady runs into the sign and even her bra flies through the air. I just about lost it.
are u watching in asia?
@@Vito-hw5nb 2004
This movie is easily one of the biggest contributions to cinema history
I have rewatched this masterpiece so SO many times It's actually a part of my childhood now. I'll never forget these Chinese films along with the others, it was the starting point why I became so much more interested in Chinese culture.
Love this movie so much. Showed it to my son at the weekend and He loved it too. So hilarious, oberacted but creative, funny and jawdropping, even after all this years!
Lies again? Evil Angel

You should show him 'shaolin soccer' too, very funny and interesting movie for kids and adults as well. 👍🎊
@@zerodegreecelsius thanks, but He knows this movie already. But also very cool movie but i prefer King fu hustle
2:05 - The most wholesome thing you will see today.👍
I like this. Unlike almost every single kung fu movie out there, the female fighter is getting her ass kicked just as hard as the male fighter ( her husband ) and both of them combined aren't enough to take this guy down.
Nah, if she used another bell + scream attack he would have been a goner. But of course that is no fun, we need more bad guy action.
@@conanhighwoods4304 true
They literally beat him and he screamed for mercy. He was beaten.
@@conanhighwoods4304 only reason the beast turned the tide was the lotus dart pen thing
Kinda parallels the Landlord and Landlady resorting to using the bell to amplify Lion's Roar BUT, that at least still needed the martial arts despite also using additional devices
If you have read Chinese martial arts novels, you will know the character's moves and special effects abilities after watching this movie! Each character has his own kung fu!
Who else is watching this in 2024? 😂😂
Better than what hollywood is producing nowadays
Slapping the beast with tiny stick was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Soooo hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I don't know how they translated "火云邪神" into "Beast". In fact, it means "Fire Cloud Evil God". A ferocious name.👋👋👋
It most definitely made sense. It was just hilarious in a universal way and is on if my favorite films of all time. ❤
Finally a movie from my childhood that can't be shit on in some movie analysis video
I watched this movie like 200 times 🤣
Its replay value is unrivaled 🥰
200 times....
You must really love it
When I got it on DVD around 2005 I just left it in the player for about a month and would just put on various scenes when I was sitting around the apartment with nothing to do.
А как называется фильм? Хоть 1 раз бы кто написал.
Movie name please?
2:26 That was a badass combo.
This must be the most awesome hilarious scene ever recorded in Kung Fu movie history.
I have tears in my eyes and can't stop laughing 🤣
I need to rewatch this movie. This is sooo good 😂
Absolutely amazing that they were so clearly outclassed, but through teamwork they fended off The Beast in the end

This movie will forever hold a place in my heart. Watched it as a kid, been in love ever since. Even tho it's goofy, it spurred my appetite for martial arts movies. Truly a timeless classic.

the kung fu hustle was one of the funniest movies about kung fu that I've seen
This always amazes me. The action, special effects, music. A timeless masterpiece.
Music, acting, fight scene. This movie is really great.
Unquestionably spectacular. That's all you can really say about the whole movie.
This is a masterpiece. Comedy, drama, action, love, all in one movie.
If you didn't realize yet, at 0:55 the Beast notices his punch doesn't work against Landlord's style, so he decides to push with his fist sending Landlord flying.
This and Shaolin Soccer: what a blast!!
Stephen Chow is an absolute genius!!
For me, the landlady's determination to dismantle the bell's head while being beaten up is the most iconic and inspiring in a way.
All 8 hits with her palms before the head is successfully removed👏👏👏👏
One of the greatest Kung-fu movies ever!
This is such a timeless classic. It never gets old.
Bruh this movie was so comical. It was so silly. I loved it. Ima haveta find and watch it again in its entirety
This movie literally had the perfect balance of comedy and action, even with all the nonsense logic it all still worked out together xD
And im glad that this was the childhood movie that i enjoyed :3
Sadness and horror too.
Hello Yasuji
hmm🤨
@@isaidstream4547 that blood wave scene in the prison.. and the mc in the pole punching xd
@@IsoyaYasuji the mc punching and his ability to recover from snake bite has always been indication that dude is gifted. Dude can also outrun the landlady, while it was comedic run, it was early indicator that dude has been always been strong. It's take the beast the beat the shit out of him to unclog his meridian and true potential. Dude also is a genius because he did learn palm Buddha when he was a kid but never get to use it properly until the last battle. All the foreshadowing has been great.
Man I remember first seeing this movie in San Diego, CA around 05-06. Me and the homie went to Taco Bell for a chipotle burrito and stopped at blockbuster to rent some dvds (yes blockbuster). We got to a certain point and was like hold up, ant this a comedy? These folks fighting frfr. Went and smoked a lil sum sum and restarted the movie. That night Kung Fu hustle became my favorite movie!!!!
My favorite part is when the boss was trying to light a cigar in his vehicle but couldn't and his henchmen went to light it and ended up setting his hair on fire 🔥 😂😂
Stephen Chow is brilliant! Nobody can ever replace him..

The Bell Lion's Roar is one of the best Kung Fu Movie scenes I've ever seen. Never get bored to watch.
My wife absolutely hated this movie because she thinks it’s too over the top and dumb. I on the other hand love this film precisely because it’s perfectly over the top and creative in how it goes about doing it and telling a fun martial arts redemption story.
建议你换个老婆😄
American Hollywood is not exaggerating? Superman saves the world! In reality, he invades other countries!
Many of Stephen Chow's movies were not popular at the time of release, just like what your wife thinks. But people later discovered that these movies were not just nonsensical comedies and turned into masterpieces.

I watch this movie at least once a year, 😂👌 classic.
Such cheesy, and weird CGI
Man I love this movie and the cast. Truly epic Kung-Fu and Comedy Gold :D
I can't remember how many times I've watched this movie, because when I was a kid the TV station always played it over and over again, but I laughed through it every time🤣
I FINALLY FOUND IT. I WATCHED THIS MOVIE WHEN I GOT ABSURDLY STONED AND GOT SO HIGH I COULDNT REMEMBER WHAT IT WAS CALLED FOR TWO WHOLE YEARS. IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS FOR SO LONG, THANK YOU😂😂
