The white room jam vids are so much fun to watch! You will LOVE the one of Giovanni! I go back n forth between it and this one as to which is my favorite. Thanks again!🤘🤩🤘
God that last guitar solo brought me right back to some of the old school death metal segments, like angela gossow era arch enemy, I think due to the filtering, so fkn clean. You are so right though, sort of arabic sounding.
"From Now On," their newest instrumental and new EP opener is on another level from Onset and Without Holding Back, Po! There is a video on the DVD/Blu Ray released on Sep. 21, 2022.
This is currently my #1 fav Band-Maid instrumental song, and surprise, surprise, my current #2 fav instrumental song is "from now on" which is in the new EP they just released😉
Herman Li of Dragon Force played this song with Miku and Kanami wearing maid outfit. It's on DF's youtube channel. It's worth to chack out cause it's hilarious.
Out of all their songs instrumentals what ever, this one is my absolute favorite. The live version that's on you tube I've must have watched 100 times. Or more.
Don’t remember Kanami ever using a whammy bar. She is an absolute genius in her writing. Never an empty second, unless it is called for. My favorite solo by Kanami is in the mv Blooming. Circa 1988 kickass hard rock solo that will blow you away. Been a rocker for over 50 years. It is one of the best guitar rock songs I ever heard.
3:20 the guy doesn't remember band member names but remember Miku's guitar name 🤣 Thanks for your reaction! "Without Holding Back" is my favorite BAND-MAID instrumental song. Did you know they just released a new song called "Influencer"? ;)
MIKU's guitar is a Zemaitis MFGV22. She also has a Zemaitis signature model. "GIOVANNI (Instrumental)" is also the best. You should definitely check it out.
The majority of the stuff I listen to is instrumental. I think I got into Band Maid so much because I don't understand them. Vocals immediately became just another instrument, and since those instruments are friggin beautiful, it mixed wonderfully with the other instruments.
I agree! I listened to a lot of BM before I saw any lyrics. It was definitely better NOT knowing what the words meant! Just the sonic value alone is all the songs need for me.
Miku's flying V is from Zemaitis. It's their first ever Flying V model line and is slightly smaller size than other manufacture's typical flying V guitars (I think it's similar in size to the ESP flying V model) I read that Miku finds it quite comfortable to play live on stage. Also, Miku was the first artist in the world to receive and play the first production piece from the company.
I had always felt that “Onset” was a high level instrumental, but “Without Holding Back” is next level with all the maids stepping up their game. In the early days, Akane’s kit had only a single tom. Akane did expand her kit with a second tom, and I think her drumming is fantastic as is. BTW, Kanami doesn’t do whammy bars, she gets her bending sound the old fashioned way ! Good review of a great song. FYI, Miku’s V guitar was her newest addition until Zemaitis came out with her signature floppy pigeon guitar.
@6:25 "Musicians porn, basically." Yep, that's it. There are four other MVs that focus on just MISA, just Miku, just Akane, and just Kanami; it was a bonus disc that's not available anymore but on their web site when you get "Band-Maid Prime." Akane has said she doesn't want a double bass drum setup because her kit is already a barrier between her and the rest of the band and she doesn't want it to be any bigger. She's already added a tom and a cymbal or two to her original "punk-rock" kit. I think that's part of the reason the others turn around and face her during concerts; they want her to feel like she's part of the band. When MISA, Akane, and Kanami are facing each other - that's the MAK power trio at the center of Band-Maid and they are really really impressive.
Miku Tobato only picked the Zemaitis flying V because it was smaller and lighter than any other V she had tried: they were way too bulky for her. Remember, Band-Maid are all little ladies. I think the vocalist once remarked that Miku gets away with goofy behavior on tour because she's short and looks and acts like a little girl. Just last week they released another instrumental: "From Now On" - it's just as awesome as anything they've done. (see below) Last year they did a short intro-outro cover of Slipknot's 'Duality' and Akane Hirose covers Slipknot's 3 percussionist with with that standard kit. LoFi: ruclips.net/video/G23tUmZEiAY/видео.html Also remember that the ladies are a touring band and they tour with maybe two roadies? They don't show up with a tractor trailer rig and 20 road crew. So she keeps her kit simple and they all travel light. In 2015 Japanese TV did a spot on them and the gals pulled up in a VAN, piled out, and started lugging their own equipment into the club. On a recent tour someone asked Miku how many maid outfits each of them have on hand and she said that they each have ONE and they each hand wash them after each performance. 2020 was really hard on them: international touring is their life's bread.
You say a lot that you want to hear Kanami shred a solo. One of the greatest solos that I have heard in 50 years of rock and metal listening is Blooming. Kanami just has a killer crunchy Riff thru the song and the solo is worthy of any guitar player you can name. It crushes brother.
These instrumental videos are awesome....and I feel they are a little stab at those from the past who didn't believe the ladies played their instruments and were faking it...Sheesh!.... I bet none of them have ever apologized to the ladies......Probably keeping their mouths shut because they realised they were talking bollocks!
MISA - Barefoot Assassin (she doesn't wear shoes on stage) - Bass Akane - Gorilla, AK-47 (she beats them drums) - Drums Miku - Pigeon (she's an 810 year old pigeon) - Backing vocals / Rhythm Guitar Kanami - Mincho, Princess (she is our princess) - Lead Guitar Saiki - Ice Queen (she used to be more tsundere) - Lead Vocals
They have several videos like this for their instrumentals. The white room setup. Miku never even held a guitar before Band Maid. She's been learning on the job (from Kanami) for the past 8 years or so.
I knew you’d definitely like this one 😂 🔥 Yes, Misa, the barefoot assassin - look at her closely - she’s not wearing shoes, just her hose. Kanami Tono is the lead guitarist and primary composer. Miku Kobato, the small pigeon, the founder who didn’t play guitar for the first year. Kanami is her sensei, her teacher. She’s an incredibly solid rhythm guitarist and beginning to do small lead fills here and there. Ofc. she’s also singing backing vocals with Saiki and sometimes lead vocals and is the primary lyricist, too, so her focus during composing is the vocals and vocal melodies with Saiki. Kanami plays all the guitar parts during recording then teaches Miku her parts. 🎸✌🏼🤘🏼
The flying "V" is by Zamaitis MF (Metal Front) and she has had it since 2021- all her guitars are Zamaitis. PRS- best guitars in the world for tone selection and comfort. Their SE range are their second level guitars but for me as good as top range Gibson or Fender and are less than half the price. I have a PRS Custom 24 Vintage Sunburst. It's the best guitar I've had in 50 years of playing. Twin humbuckers with a switch for inner and outer pickups or both or one of course, then a tone control for all on top of that. Just beautiful.
Yea I had a SE for years and my other guitarist I work with in my band just got a american made hollow body…Im not sure what model it is though…kiesel and carvin are my favorite guitars
I know this was a year ago but what the hell. In an interview Kanami said she chose PRS because they are so easy to play. Her guitar tech let her play his and there was no going back! She doesn't use a tremolo much but she can wreck a Bad Horsie, mostly in her older stuff. But, as always, she uses it sparingly and it always perfectly fits the song.
That was "Don't be long" as an exercise for "Different". Fortunately I've found the link of the interview, where they talked about it. ruclips.net/video/gG0hhHfN5nY/видео.html
All these 'white room' video instrumentals come as added bonuses to limited edition releases. Best thing? Each track comes with five versions. One like now of all the band, and one video each focussing on every member. The Akane (drummer) focus ones are insane! Musicians porn indeed! My favourite of the 'white room' instrumentals is "Giovanni". You should check it out. It's better than the already awesome vocal version. Akane said she doesn't want a bigger kit. She can do everything she wants on the ones she has. But main reason she said was she doesn't like feeling cut off from her band mates and the crowd. A bigger kit would obscure her from what is going on. In nine years she has only added her double bass pedal. (And a computer - she controls the backing fx via clicktrack). MISA is called the barefoot Assassin because she always plays barefoot (she says so she can 'feel' Akane better). And she looks like an Assassin!
My understanding on Akane's relatively small drum kit is because she likes to be part of the group. She has basically said if the kit gets any bigger she feels cut off from the group and the audience and that ruins her enjoyment. She has added a bit to it since the start, go back to the Thrill video and look at how tiny her kit is, it's almost weird to see.
Congratulations on the subscriber milestone, nicely done! Another bonus track included with this release was the instrumental version of "Giovanni", which I predict you'll dig very much when you get to it. Keep up the good work! Edit: If you want to see Miku show off her Zemaitis guitars... English subtitles: ruclips.net/video/Ke9h3pZ5P0I/видео.html
Akane was asked about getting a bigger drum kit and she said she didn't want to feel walled off from the rest of the band and she liked being able to see the audience while playing
BAND-MAID released a new MV “influencer” an hour ago. Also new EP released on Sep 21, starts with an instrumental “from now on”, which you should definitely check it out🕊
Yup.. and as well as FROM NOW ON instrumental...lol i was freaking surprised BAND-MAID released 6hours ago 😂.. for me the best instrumental of all Band-Maid ..just my opinion..lol... GO NUTS..well hahaa badass as ever but unfinished..lol...

Ok..band suggestion...TRiDENT...a Japanese female trio....The only other Japanese female band to make my playlists...Tracks to check... "Voltage"..a track from a couple of years ago (JUNNA era)...."Ambivalent" LIVE a Zepp..And their latest track "Spoopy"......."Ambivalent" and "Spoopy" are with new drummer Nagisa who replaced JUNNA when she left a couple of years ago...But don't worry Nagisa rocks!!
Akane has said that she prefers a more modest drum kit because she doesn't want to feel separated from the crowd or her band mates. I haven't seen many Japanese drummers that have huge kits to be honest. Most keep it pretty basic (the bands that I've listened to anyway). Fumiya from Unlucky Morpheus is the only one I can think of off the top of my head that has a large drum kit.
MVP....to me goes to Miku.....for being a relativity newer guitarist....her rhythm on the song was outstanding. But come on....everyone was killer !!!!!!
Technically not an instrumental...but my fav instrumental is "Giovanni". "Giovanni" is awesome!.....like all BAND-MAID....but the instrumental...is otherworldly!!.....It's my fav instrumental..despite it not actually being an instrumental.🤔....With Akane's 👣Feet of Fury! 🌪 Kamani's 🖐Fingers of Fire! 🔥...MISA's Pick of Power🚀....And Miku's 🪄 Magic🪢Tying it all together.🤯🤪🥰
Homework; Checkout Band Maid's Spice Interview Oct. 7, 2022. They talk about how they work currently. Believe you will be surprised how Akane and MISA develop their lines. Also thinking about starting a petition for the release of the meow version of "Unleash"
Gibson bought out Mesa. Miku rarely uses floppy pigeon on stage, she has an identical with a skull engraved on it. She calls it skull and it's the only one of her guitars she named. The guitar in this video is also a Zamaitas guitar. She is a rep for Zamaitas
Onset is probably my least favorite BM instrumental, with From Now On on top and Without Holding Back a very close second. Needless to say, Don't Be Long ranks third 😁
The same company that makes the floppy pigeon make this guitar too she stays with the same company it's just a different kind of Vine Flying V but it's made by the same company as their other guitar
なにがすごいって、これぞrockでしょう。
Check out their new song and MV released only 1 hour ago.
Thier is a fan cam on this tract even a fan cam the sound quality was fantastic
That effect on Kanami's sound in the solo and other places, was the Eventide H9 harmonizer...
The white room jam vids are so much fun to watch! You will LOVE the one of Giovanni! I go back n forth between it and this one as to which is my favorite. Thanks again!🤘🤩🤘

"This might be my favorite Band-Maid song" Most people say this every time they hear a new song from the maids. You'll get used to it.
MIKU's guitar is a Zemaitis MFGV22. She also has a Zemaitis signature model.

That's a great point. I don't turn on the captions for the first couple of listens so, as you said, the vocals are like another instrument.
Agree , vocals just another instrument so we could fully enjoyment listen to the whole world musics .

Not bad for someone who couldn't play when she started the band!...Got to give it her..Miku Rocks!🤘🤪🤘
Awesome 😎 love band maid there music is so awesome
That Zemaitis V guitar is fantastic, I just had to get one.
A great song that Kanami and MISA have a killer back and forth is DON'T YOU TELL ME live from the Zepp I believe. They kill it
my favorite so far of their instrumentals is Giovanni the Instrumental version obviously
A great song for training!

They just dropped the official video for their latest instrumental From Now On on RUclips. You should check it out.
I've been following this band for years and consider them the best girl group in the world. That's why I think it's good to know their names.
Enjoyed this, good post
Band Maid just released a new instrumental, From now on. Even better.
I think the best instrumental is No God personally. it's so complex, has so many moving parts and yet is fluid and dynamic.
Kanami does not run a whammy bar on her PRS she runs a whammy pedal, if you ever get to see her pedal board, it is loaded with equipment
Check out "From Now On"
Kanami's solo will bring tears to your eyes

Akane's small kit is intentional. It forces her to be creative.

Kanami Tono 🎸🔥🤘

Akane has said that she prefers a more modest drum kit because she doesn't want to feel separated from the crowd or her band mates. Ok that was good but now... check out 'From now on' ruclips.net/video/a6ZSvmnkS00/видео.html
This is more intricate. Onset is the better "SONG"
Onset is probably my least favorite BM instrumental, with From Now On on top and Without Holding Back a very close second. Needless to say, Don't Be Long ranks third 😁

Huh?
The same company that makes the floppy pigeon make this guitar too she stays with the same company it's just a different kind of Vine Flying V but it's made by the same company as their other guitar
