Great to watch musicians get excited about other musicians playing. Fans like me just get wrapped up in the sound and listen opened mouthed to the playing. But when musicians get equally excited it means that the playing is something special and I am right to go over the top in my enthusiasm for this band. Thanks for the reactions especially to Band Maid.
The mistress of tap has entered the room! Submit or Die! I love Miku's expression at 8:00...Holy Moly Kanami! What did you write? This is death by speed folks. I bet they slept for 2 days after this performance. DANG. This is my new cardio workout song. Time to head bang!!!
Thanks for another great reaction video. Without Holding Back is my absolute favorite Band-Maid video, it's also the one that -really- got me into this band. In fact, seeing this video for the first time, I couldn't believe they could pull anything like this off live, but then (about 2 years ago) seeing the fan-filmed live shows (by Vlad Chupin and others) really made my jaw drop to the floor, seeing these incredibly talented ladies perform. For example the Amsterdam 2018 recording, filmed in front of Miku's amp (so her guitar can clearly be heard). The energy, the fun, the talent, the hard work!!! What a band...
This is a good way to wake up in the morning, Misa's booming bass in my ears always makes me happy. Akane is a beast with the double kick drumming, I read somewhere she practised a lot until she mastered the machine gun fire technique we see here. They are all so talented ❤😄🤘
🥃 Hurray for keeping the Maids in heavy rotation! And I’m definitely looking forward to next week’s “Onset” Offset Era reaction. I heard you, Chris! @1:45 What I learned most from their instrumentals is that their songs seem to be all written like this, with the complexity and variations throughout. It’s just that sometimes they add vocals. One question for you both, Chris and Sam: Have these reactions influenced you at all in your own writing or playing? 🤔 🤘🏽
What's even better? Miku and Kanami were guests on Herman Li's podcast show where he plays along to this sing live with them.....while wearing a maid outfit. 😂
Over fifty music videos, and then there are the P in D 4 photo collages that are great and so well done! Hard to run out of Band-Maid video's for you! The white room videos are fantastic, ALL of them! "Onset" indeed needs to be your next one, the live version is what I would recommend!
"Without Holding Back" is full of the joy of music -- fast, intense, yet happy. Thank Kanami for a great composition, teaching Miku new tricks. Thank Misa and Akane for Not Holding Back as well.
On a number of Band-Maid Cd releases there were special limited editions put out that had these "White Room' instrumental videos included on DVD/Blu-ray. These videos would have 5 videos for each song. One focused on each member and one of them all. This is the one of them all together which came in the "First Press Limited Edition" of the Cd "Unseen World" which had these videos done for 4 songs. Nice reaction as always with you guys. I should add that this song and "Onset" are the only instrumentals done as White Room instrumentals IFAIK, all the others are songs that have vocals that are done just showing the instruments playing. My take is that these videos are to help musicians to learn to play Band-Maid songs and for fans to see exactly what is done.
Kanami wrote this piece primarily to teach Miku how to play diminished chords, so that when she came to play her rhythm section on the track "Different" she had a head start. It's hard to have a favourite song with Band-Maid but this is in my top 10. The power trio of Akane, MISA and Kanami are allowed free reign whilst Miku ties down the rhythm and gets to add her own flavour to the music.
IIRC this was written by Kanami originally as a bit of a "Miku Practice" track, to prep her for a couple of the other more difficult songs she was writing.
@@philipcable437The Miku practice song for “Different” is “Don’t belong” which is a B-side of the single “Different”. “without holding back” was recorded after, for the Unseen World album
These " White Room Videos " are included with the Special Edition CDs of them. Very cool as they have Instrumental Playtroughs for evey single Member and a Video of all 4 together for different Songs. Guys you really are my favorite new Reactors. Anyway ... Yes akanes shoes, the onitsuka tigers. I had to get some and bought them on ebay from a shop in Japan. They do cost right around 100 dollars true but man they are the most comfortable things I wear. Christmas is right around the corner, maybe a present for yourself.
Miku started on Rickenbacker guitars. In spring of 2016 she and Kanami were invited to check out Zemaitis guitars. Miku was delighted to go, Kanami went to be polite but had her heart set on PRS, even though she already had Addictone making her own signature line. I don't know what deal they struck, but from the outside I'd guess she either gets deep discounts or gift guitars in return for the exposure she gives them. Her collection was well over a dozen different models last I knew. Miku was asked if she would consider a flying V style. She was concerned it would be big and unwieldly, but was willing. Zemaitis built a compact flying V to fit her, which became #1 of a new line, and that is the one in th video. Since then Zemaitis collaborated with her on a special design called the Flappy Pigeon - i.e. her signature model.
No other band interests me either! Oh, except for Offset Era!! 🤘😜🤘 Now that I've weakened your defenses with the flattery, a suggestion: Do a comparison of Giovanni with and without vocals. Really enjoy listening to your enthusiastic comments on Band-Maid. Somehow it's even more special when musicians point out what the Maids are doing and why they like it.

Thanks to my grands and great grands, I have heard nearly all of Band Maid that is out so far. These reactions are great, it is like listening with friends over for a visit.
Chris and Sam, If you really want to see Band Maid's and especially Saiki's versatility as a vocalist, you should compare the recent official live video of "Puzzle" and an acoustic video of "Puzzle". The official live video is a hard rocker, but please read the lyrics from the song via closed caption. In the acoustic version of the same song, it's just Kanami and Saiki playing and singing, with the same lyrics, but the emotions of the song are very different. Get yourself a tissue.

I know you guys love the drums, so you should check into a young Japanese lady named Yoyoka Soma. She's 14 now, but she has had her own YT channel since she was 6 years old and started playing drums at 3 or 4 years old. She comes from a musical family and they have supported her tremendously. She has done some of the finest drum covers I've ever seen. She lives in the US now to go to school out in California. She is another savant when it comes to music, like Li-Sa X on guitar and Miumiu Guitargirl, who is 10 and a multi-instrumentalist. Yoyoka didn't read music and she learned her covers by ear and has learned to play several other instruments by ear also. She's been on TV here several times and is a true wunderkind. You should check her out. She followed in the footsteps of Senri Kawaguchi, who is yet another great Japanese female drummer. She plays in the jazz/funk scene in Tokyo with The Jazz Avengers, an all-female jazz band.
Thank you for reacting to Without Holding Back, my favorite instrumental. The album Unseen World special edition came with a DVD containing music videos of the instrumental versions of; After Life, NO GOD, Giovanni, and without holding back.
It's a fancam but it's front and centre and good audio - the instrumental Don't Be Long ruclips.net/video/wnO3NAc0vLw/видео.html . Miku really goes for it!

Hato and V flying, Po! Always a treat to see a White room MV. Btw, I used to wear Onitsuka Tiger VB shoes back in the 70's (about the same time the Nike waffles got big in running). The Onitsuka was the original zero drop shoe like Akane's Mexico 66 Slip-on's, and, yes, they are $100 retail. 🦍🍌
hey guys, the acoustic of puzzle is up on you tube right now. you should check it out. It is my favorite acoustic and arguably my favorite song by them (you get to hear kanami on backing vocals).
Some of their albums are officially on RUclips music as well. Just saying I would give likes to reactions to songs there's no MV for. I think you need to check out Corrallium. To me it's progressive and amazing. Some of my favorites never had a video.
There are a few other interesting Band-maid tracks you might not have come across. This just shows they are not a one trick pony here. Great reaction here BTW to my favorite instrumental Band-Maid track. 🤘🔥🎸🔥BAND-MAID / カタルシス "Catharsis" Acoustic Ver. (Official Live Video)
Give their shortly lived alter-egos Band-Maiko a try. (they were an April Fool's joke which ended up with a small album. They rearrange and rewrite their lyrics (in a different dialect) with traditional Japanese instruments. It's still hard rock though) One of my all time favorite songs from them is "Secret Maiko Lips", the original song being "Secret My Lips". Both are worth checking out! Fun fact: Miku plays Zemaitis guitars, a (now) Japanese company. It's an interesting story of how she became connected to the brand, and great how they decided to build her a signature model.
I love all of Band-Maids white room videos. They're all instrumentals or instrumental versions of their songs minus Saiki's vocals. Thanks so much for doing this one.
After they hired Saiki, the record label told Miku that they needed a rhythm guitarist. The choices were for either Saiki or Miku to learn guitar on the job (they both had ZERO experience), or they would audition for another guitarist. Saiki flat out said NO WAY, and Miku didn't want to hire another girl, so she bit the bullet and learned guitar from scratch. Kanami became her guitar sensei after that. 😀
Actually they wanted one of those two to hold a guitar. Miku volunteered because Saiki really didn’t want to. Shortly thereafter, Akane talked to Kanami and they both agreed that no one in their band was going to just hold an instrument. And that was the beginning of Kanami teaching Miku how to play guitar.
Non drummers won't know that shoes are very important when using kick drums. Most sneakers are too grippy for this as you need to slide your foot up the pedals when doing multiple kicks.
Would be nice to hear the song without it getting chopped into pieces by commentary. I know it's a reaction video, but way too much stoppage...comment after the song please.
Simply stated, they are the best live rock band on the planet...maybe ever. I've been making music for money since 1966, and I have never heard a band this tight.
Great to watch musicians get excited about other musicians playing. Fans like me just get wrapped up in the sound and listen opened mouthed to the playing. 6:19 yes, she's doing the first guitar spot. in one of their online okyu-jis she even did it better than in her own song, 'sayonakidori'.
Band-Maid - Dawn Winery Theme.....the most beautiful instrumental that they have done, so far.
Better audio than the stand-alone version: ruclips.net/video/LrqsaO9Cf2M/видео.htmlsi=JEtqFbyXZDndTJ2f&t=257
LoL. I just suggested they react to that before scrolling down and seeing this comment.

Yay another BAND-MAID "Pee break" title instrumental along with "Onset", "Don't Be Long", "Hard Wash" & for the guys, "Go Nuts". Wow what a relief.😌
I'd like to see Mincho add a guitar solo to Hard Wash - that would be hot. Or it could be cold. Very draining to play though.

Give their shortly lived alter-egos Band-Maiko a try. (they were an April Fool's joke which ended up with a small album. They rearrange and rewrite their lyrics (in a different dialect) with traditional Japanese instruments. It's still hard rock though)
One of my all time favorite songs from them is "Secret Maiko Lips", the original song being "Secret My Lips".
White Room's🤤 2 down, 7 to go.
Each one have 5 different versions.

Primera vez que escucho a Band Maid.. me parece estar escuchando a Dream Theater..
The guitar solo had a sound and feel similar to The Byrds Eight Miles High solos.
Non drummers won't know that shoes are very important when using kick drums. Most sneakers are too grippy for this as you need to slide your foot up the pedals when doing multiple kicks.
ya need to do visions of atlantis clocks official video for sam its his tavern song
Why don't you stop and listen to the end before commenting?
You can react to the band xdinary heroes
ONSET is even better. Don’t know why you’ve been sleeping on it.
From now on is Onset on crack
Would be nice to hear the song without it getting chopped into pieces by commentary. I know it's a reaction video, but way too much stoppage...comment after the song please.

Simply stated, they are the best live rock band on the planet...maybe ever. I've been making music for money since 1966, and I have never heard a band this tight.
Their beauty has no effect on me. But I highly respect their songwriting and playing techniques.
At least you recognize their beauty...😜🤣
Their beauty has no effect on their musicianship, but it does add to the overall package. Rather watch beautiful talent than ugly talent!
