So let me get this straight Bruce Wayne announces to the public that Batman will be at a charity auction where Bruce Wayne is absent, but a masked vigilante with the exact same build and voice as Bruce is attending? Come on man, even Clark Kent puts more effort into his secret identity.
Now, a staple of the superhero mythology is, there’s the superhero and there’s the alter ego. Batman is actually Bruce Wayne, Spider-Man is actually Peter Parker. When that character wakes up in the morning, he’s Peter Parker. He has to put on a costume to become Spider-Man. And it is in that characteristic Superman stands alone. Superman didn’t become Superman. Superman was born Superman. When Superman wakes up in the morning, he’s Superman. His alter ego is Clark Kent. His outfit with the big red “S”, that’s the blanket he was wrapped in as a baby when the Kents found him. Those are his clothes. What Kent wears - the glasses, the business suit - that’s the costume. That’s the costume Superman wears to blend in with us. Clark Kent is how Superman views us. And what are the characteristics of Clark Kent? He’s weak, he’s unsure of himself, he’s a coward. Clark Kent is Superman’s critique on the whole human race. - Bill from Kill Bill.
Security is so inexplicably terrible in this movie. They literally just let Isley walk up to Bruce and do literally nothing to keep her from potentially harming him.
Bruce Wayne is intentionally an asshole and rejects his employees ideas cuz he knows they will snap and thus be reborn as villains thus insuring Batman has enemies to fight otherwise he would be out of business.

This scene is interesting because it shows Ivy willing to talk about issues constructively . She didn't even use her powers over the guards. However, once talking didn't work, she proceeded to use force. If only she'd given reasonable and earth friendly alternatives to fuels and coolants. Her proposal may have been accepted and she'd probably not have been forced into breaking out and using Freeze.
I think the same could be said of Nygma in Forever though he was already wildly obsessed with Bruce when they finally met. Our earth is certainly dying we are indeed killing this planet. But then again she’s evil when comes to killing people. But is a very good person when it comes to wanting to save the earth. Which is quite interesting for a villain. There’s no doubt in my mind that she’s obviously evil. But what she says about our earth ain’t no lie. A day of reckoning is coming really doesn’t sound unrealistic at all. Our earth is certainly dying. I also agree with Bruce Wayne. Letting people die is so wrong. So hard to pick a side. I would like to counter that with what was actually said: " well your intentions are noble, but without air conditioning and petroleum for heat, Millions will die of people will die of freezing and hunger alone." Dr. Isley, paraphrasing "Some of you may die, but that is a risk I am willing to accept." Honestly, if she had *ANYTHING* else to counter with for alternatives or practices, then I would agree with you. "Wonderful, let's say next Wednesday for lunch."
"Great! Looking forward to it! Uh... By the way, some walking refrigerator is planning on stealing the diamond you're auctioning."
"I know."
"What?"
"Hm?"
That scene could have make the film better. And the film's running time shorter.
I would like to counter that with what was actually said: " well your intentions are noble, but without air conditioning and petroleum for heat, Millions will die of people will die of freezing and hunger alone."
Dr. Isley, paraphrasing "Some of you may die, but that is a risk I am willing to accept."
Honestly, if she had *ANYTHING* else to counter with for alternatives or practices, then I would agree with you.
Instead, she blatantly told him that she's at war, and already has a (ironically) scorched earth policy involving humans. It was supposed to be an olive branch, but she handed him terms of surrender essentially
Had Clooney had a better script to go on, I think he would’ve been one of the best Batmen. But I must say, I thought he was very well suited to play Bruce Wayne
He was fine as Bruce Wayne
I don’t know why but this scene is just rememberable, and I just love this movie just because it’s so bad it’s so good.
I was just a six years old kid and I was already atracted to Uma Thurman in this movie
I forgot Bruce even had a love interest in this movie, such an afterthought
Uma Thurman knew exactly what she was doing.
Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy was my first childhood crush. Just like Jeri Ryan as Seven Of Nine was my brother's childhood crush.
Reporter:You must be new in town. In Gotham city, Batman and Robin protect us.
Me: Yeah but no law enforcement approves of vigilantes.
Hear me out, guys. Poison Ivy disguising as her nerdy self, Pamela Isley is kinda hot. It's definitely the leather gloves
Same with the wig.
Goodness she looks so good in that outfit haha
Too pretty to be honest.
She has a special charm.
Would you like to talk more about her?
My God it wasn't until rewatching this clip long after I became a comic nerd that I realized that Bruce's chick is based on a character of the same name from the comics also named Julie Madison. Golden/silver age knowledge helps enjoy this flick
Have you guys read what the essay said? Just pause at 2:28... COOOOOOOOL
Donald Trump detected in 2:42

Fun thing
When Joel Schumacher took over as the director He paired up Bruce/Batman to an Australian
Chase Meridian - played by Nicole Kidman an Australian
Julie Madison (In a Pink dress in this video)- Played by Elle McPherson also an Australian
I love this scene lol. Watching it over and over
Younger Uma Therman in glasses. My life is complete
"URRRGH, STEEEP" 0:14
Looooooool her acting is so over the top🤣, it's like Disney villain speech
Well, she IS wearing green lol
No one but Uma looks that hot with glasses.
1:19-the way she just appears and hisses
I wonder what Joel Schumacher told Uma Turman in order to overact this much, I guess he told her to try and impersonate Jim Carrey on the last movie.
No, she was instructed to emulate Mae West.
I can't fucking believe that I was a fairly young kid when this movie come out and I am damn near Clooney's age in the film now. Young people here me now, time flies.
Clooney was 36 & Ivy/ Uma was 27 !!!
she's kinda cute in her civi clothes
Regardless of how terrible this movie was, while he may not have been a great Batman, but George Clooney as Bruce Wayne was spot on. Imagine George as Bruce and Keaton/Bale as Batman, that would be excellent.
WOW that building is HIGH UP lol.
PLEASE don't point it at my bedroom.
*I don't care what anyone says, I love this movie. I really enjoyed it in theaters back in 97.*
Two Supermodels Elle Macpherson and Vendela Kirsebom were beautiful in that film. Uma Thurman was great as Poison Ivy and she should get the Oscar
3:55 Writers really really REALLY want to emphasise that she's a bad woman. Hence the monologue. Bit heavy-handed maybe...
They have legit Dr. Isley's running things now.
Can't believe they predicted the FridaysForFuture Movement
She makes a good point
So this is where Greta Thunberg got her inspiration...
😂but greta has no bane
lol I was thinking the same thing. "YOU'RE KILLING HER!" may as well have been "HOW DARE YOU!"
hermione granger
Lmfao- don’t even compare that entitled sanctimonious brat to Uma. Her entire modern life is the product of capitalistic endeavor while she spews fabricated victimization narratives to make herself feel morally superior.
Ha
(1:13-1:17) just don’t point it to my bedroom. 😂
Imaine this Bane in Nolans Batmanmovie :D.
Oh hell no...this depiction of Bane is terrible. He wasn't a retarded monster made by Frankenstein.
GRRR! BANE! CRUSH! CAP-IT-A-LISM!
Just watch the animated show itself with Bane speaking with an Hispanic accent.
George Clooney was handsome here☺️
Still❤
Years later nobody is laughing now.
covid is basically earths response for humanity in large for brushing problems down the carpet.
@@MeelisMatt Why is it you environmental nuts never start with yourselves?
Well, she was right, now it's too late I guess.
Uma was mega cute in this
Watching poison ivy is like watching a kindergarten play
