Actually, the "wave" is entirely a Boeing scheme. They introduced the "wave" on their first 787. However, United Airlines was created by Boeing. They thought that they could manufacture Boeing airplanes & create an Airline (United) to gain even more revenue from the aircraft it manufactured. Essentially, a monopoly. But now Delta is growing quite a gateway to Asia at Seattle/Tacoma Int. Which is ironic in that United Airlines was born in Seattle about 85 years ago.
I think the subtle cabin decor is tasteful. Didn't hear any cabin boarding music being played. AA kept that little atmospheric perk on its MAX. The UA meal presentation was good. I like the branding elements. Streaming-only IFE would make them not my first choice, however. I realize only Delta and JetBlue will have single-aisle AVOD IFE by 2019-2020.

Anyone who has flown will report a bad flight experience and the airline responsible at one time or another. I fly from Canada to several destinations in the United States, and I almost always fly with United Airlines. So far every trip has been a charm. The service from United's workers, both at the terminal and in the air has been exceptional. I'm looking forward to my first time aboard the new MAX.
You mean before planes crashed and hundreds of people died because Boeing lied to the FAA, to the airlines and to the people. Then denied there was a problem until they were forced to admit their faults.
I like watching the gap between the fuselage window and cabin panels expand during takeoff and contract during landing. 2 and a half millimeters between you and certain death. 16:09

Excellent video! I'll be flying first class on this same flight in a few days. The information you delivered on the seating and amenities were excellent. Thanks!
IAH is my home airport, only live about a half hour away NE! Where did you fly in from to sample this flight and overnight at the Marriot? With a double inflight crew, wondering if there were enough jump seats for everybody? On takeoff, the engines sound like a scaled down version of a Triple 7,IAH has drastically changed since I've last flown in Dec '14. I'm old enough to remember when Terminal C served Continental and Texas International, each airline was served on opposite sides of the building. Where to next after Orlando?
Flew the night before from San Diego. I’m guessing the crew also had some economy seats for their use. Yeah I really miss continental. From Orlando I took a flight back home on American, but had the airport closed on me for 2 hours due to weather, while we were already fully boarded. But we did end up making it home, but had to fly southwest on the connection flight
I would still take United 737 MAX over American, especially since i am on the larger size. But yes, I am dissappointed in the redesign of the Seats. The last laugh belongs Smisek as he authorized it. Funny thing is during the press release, apparently the "frequent First class riders" had input into these seats....yeah right
Thanks for sharing this. It's quite sad that United is doing the same thing on their MAXs like American by removing the IFE. I mean really, the first class got no IFE as well? Total rip off. Good thing I am still flying Delta. However, I really like the MAX cockpit and the engine sounds is reasonable but quiet.
I've had IFE on short 2 hour regional flights from Delta in economy before. I normally fly Delta, but I gave American a chance last winter for a holiday trip, and I was a bit disappointed. More delays (I got to sit and watch them work on the left engine of my plane for an hour. And when we got on board the captain said it was an issue with the hydraulic system. Luckily I know there's multiple backup systems with that.) the service wasn't nearly as good (Normally if I kindly ask for another cup of soda/water in economy on Delta after everyone's been served, they're happy to help me but on American I seem to get a snotty attitude every time.) and (Not that this actually matters) the flight attendants weren't so easy on the eyes. A bit "aged" with crappier moods. The biggest thing for me was the seat barely had any cushion. Even for economy.

Just an FYI for future flights on the 8 , 9, standard and Max - sit in one of the isle seats abeam the winglets. You'll get an appreciation for how much the wings bend in flight. In flight, from the isle seat, the winglet disappears from view. (No fare bending over and looking up; that sort defeats the purpose). Once on the ground again, the winglets come back into view, when seating normally. Noted this on a flight from LAX - SLC. Hmmmm.... Interesting. Most pax's won't even notice. The bend in the wing on take-off is really interesting on the 787; 747-400 & -8; A 330, 350, 380. On the A 380's you can actually see the wings droop at the tips, once the spoilers come up, and aircraft weight on wheels. (Need to view this from behind the aircraft to really see it.) Cheers....

Disappointing 'First Class' American carriers need to look globally to see how the competition is truly taking off. Check Flydubai, JetBlue and other less expensive airlines that offer more of a premium product in their business class cabins let alone other international legacy carriers.
To be fair, the foreign airlines are really expensive compared to the US carriers. Boston to London Heathrow roundtrip (Expedia pricing as of this day): Delta, $280 United, $350 Turkish Airlines, *$750.*
Jetblue is an American carrier. Hell, at one point not too long ago, they were considered a budget carrier. They do things a lot better than most carriers though.
They need to get that pa sound system improved right away, unless they just have it set too low. Beautiful airplane, loved the take-off that bird really shows it's power.
I very much enjoyed your trip report, but UAL has not done great things with the FIrst Class interior on the new MAX 9. As a matter of fact, the back of the First Class seats looks just like the back of the seats on Spirit Airlines. I just expected a bit more from UA.
I just want to know how safe this plan is right now after all the problem . I am taking this from Anchorage to Chicago in few weeks. Night flight Red eye.
Awesome video. Thinking about taking a flight first class from Pittsburgh to Chicago to visit a friend. This video was extremely nice to see what it looks like on the plane. ✈️
The Buzzing is not a good thing for airlines at all, the buzzing is the air around the turbines in the engines breaking the sound barrier which creates drag and makes the aircraft less fuel efficient, but I do agree it sounds cool.
DiamondAviation it really isn’t a bad thing at all. The farther out you go on a fan blade at a given rpm the faster that part of the blade is travelling, the ends of the blades are going so fast they to break the sound barrier. The only way to stop this is to slow the fan down which in turn does not allow to to make enough thrust for takeoff. It really doesn’t make the engine much less efficient or anything like that. The actual compressors and turbines don’t do this.
I had the exact same thing happen to me a couple years ago, I was flying back from RDU to IAH, I got first class on one of the old 73’s the ones with the seat back screens, once they got to my row the fa said, we only have the cereal left is that ok, so I just took that.
How sad. From its very first moments, UAL has made this beautiful, new aircraft seem dated and utterly inadequate. How Oscar keeps in the good graces of the UAL board is beyond me. I will continue to fly Delta.
Charles Hamilton what would you do if you were running an airline? Try to make more money to keep a stable life without any worries of cash, or have the risk of running yourself into bankruptcy because of the "precious customer"? Flying is just a form of transportation getting people from point A to point B. It's not a luxury anymore
Bartolo Vids - I would, I hope, run my airline just like Delta does. Top notch cabin crew, seats with personal entertainment screens, and an outstanding record of dependable, on-time service. And, Bartolo Vids, Delta does ALL this and still makes a profit. Thanks for asking!
I just completed a flight on UAL in first class with the new seats. They are def less than first class fell and not as comfy as before. The recline(if that what you wanna call it) is terrible. As the seat back reclines, the seat itself is raised upward making for a very awkward position which is very uncomfortable. The inflight service was just ok...they always run out of the the most desirable food selection on the menu and some first class get no choice since my flight attendant went from seat to seat from some list. I assume it starts with highest status and works down to lowest no matter how much you paid for the seat. So I skipped the crappy meal and just had as much booze as they would serve me cause that seems like the only true benefit of flying first class with United.
Andy Taylor X-Plane 11 is awesome, X-Plane 10 is just as awesome, but the graphic in XP11 are just too good, I would get it if I were you. Awesomely accurate cockpits, and a ton of freeware plane downloads. There’s a 737-900ER, and it’s incredibly accurate to the real model, and the best part is that it’s free to download.

Delta, $280
United, $350
Turkish Airlines, *$750.*
Jetblue is an American carrier. Hell, at one point not too long ago, they were considered a budget carrier. They do things a lot better than most carriers though.
You realize JetBlue is an American carrier itself?
Did united select the space bins for the aircraft or the standard pivot bins
Your videography is really good. What did you use for video?
Why does United not our ife in first like Delta and American? Makes it look so much cheaper. How is the seat comfort in first?
Those engines are super quiet, virtually no detectable fan buzz.
Was it cheap of them to put white bulkheads in economy instead of the gray bulkheads?
I want a TV like JetBlue planes
Or even Delta planes!
@@lukeg5540 Only fly with Delta, Alaska, Southwest, and JetBlue. The rest is dog shit and avoid them at all costs!
Or American
Or on VivaAerobus
Such a wonderful aircraft! Great video mate!
Def makes one NOT want to fly this airline. You sure this is “first class”? Thx for sharing

United is the worst.
United is the best
@@johanajohana6976 I beg to differ
If your ass is wider than 21 inches you need to buy a second seat.
I miss the 727s.. much better service in the pre 911 years..
pre 9/11 service was great you treated like a king now its solidarity confidment on flights lol
Do u play Infinite Flight game? Cuz I saw the LiveFlight Connect on your Mac.
I just want to know how safe this plan is right now after all the problem . I am taking this from Anchorage to Chicago in few weeks. Night flight Red eye.
Why do u always sit in the last row of the cabin?? Doesn’t it have restricted legroom??
Awesome video. Thinking about taking a flight first class from Pittsburgh to Chicago to visit a friend. This video was extremely nice to see what it looks like on the plane. ✈️
Rip the engine buzz sound
Rasheed Patterson buzzing at 15:10
Julio Romeresto not the same
The Buzzing is not a good thing for airlines at all, the buzzing is the air around the turbines in the engines breaking the sound barrier which creates drag and makes the aircraft less fuel efficient, but I do agree it sounds cool.
Well it was a problem with the DC-10, and noise pollution has also become a big issue involving the buzz sound.
This Boeing 737 is equipped with bad software and we could nose dive and crash at any time! Thank you for flying United!

Absolutely no one:
General Public today: YoU sUrViVeD tHe 737 MaX
Yeah, I like to eat cereal on my first class with no ife, hahahaha, UA is the best at making joke, btw the clarity of your video is one of the best
I love your videos but just out of curiosity, how do you make sure you get to fly on inaugural flights?
I had the exact same thing happen to me a couple years ago, I was flying back from RDU to IAH, I got first class on one of the old 73’s the ones with the seat back screens, once they got to my row the fa said, we only have the cereal left is that ok, so I just took that.
Looking at those "First Class" seats.... I'm sticking with Southwest and pay for their EB check-in.
Any other airlines going no AVOD with the new MAX ?
The sound is incredible!
How sad. From its very first moments, UAL has made this beautiful, new aircraft seem dated and utterly inadequate. How Oscar keeps in the good graces of the UAL board is beyond me. I will continue to fly Delta.
Charles Hamilton h
Charles Hamilton ... I agree with you. I rarely fly ual anymore
Its pretty much the same you would find on any us carrier domestic
That's a quiet plane!
Cool that you’re coming to FL, I live in Palm Beach
Cost of the First Class flight? R/T? Were seats comfortable?
Beautiful plane, but I didn't get many of the abbr. you used.. 😉 I don't fly much these days...
This was the 2500th video I liked
This music is crazy....
3:55 can’t wait to see that cockpit in X-Plane 11
Last X-Plane I had was 9. Sucked like all the previous ones. Was 10 any better? More accurate cockpits?
Andy Taylor X-Plane 11 is awesome, X-Plane 10 is just as awesome, but the graphic in XP11 are just too good, I would get it if I were you. Awesomely accurate cockpits, and a ton of freeware plane downloads. There’s a 737-900ER, and it’s incredibly accurate to the real model, and the best part is that it’s free to download.
BluMac x-plane 11 is free?? No paying at all? I hope you're not lying
Sponge Bob I never said X-Plane was free, I said the high quality Free-ware plane was free, NOT THE GAME
BluMac sucks 😔, can't get it now
