- Salisbury steak is an easy and inexpensive dinner that checks all the good boxes! Simmered in a delicious mushroom and onion gravy this Salisbury steak recipe is a total home cooking winner!
INGREDIENTS
• 1.5 - 2lb ground beef
• 3/4 cup seasoned panko breadcrumbs
• 2 medium sized onions, 1 shredded & 1 thinly sliced
• 6-8 garlic cloves, 2-3 finely shedded and 4-5 minced
• 1 egg
• a few sprigs of parsley, leaves removed and finely chopped
• salt & ground black pepper to taste
• 8 oz baby portobello mushrooms
• 1 shallot, finely chopped
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• 2 tbsp tomato paste
• 1 tbsp beef bouillon paste
• 1 tbsp dijon mustard
• 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
• 1/2 - 1 cup beef stock
DIRECTIONS
1. In a large mixing bowl, mix together by hand the ground beef, breadcrumbs, shredded onion, shredded garlic, egg, half of the fresh chopped parsley (reserving the rest for garnish), salt & pepper. Separate meat mix into 4-5 equal sized portioned and form patties by hand. Tightly compress the sides so they don't fall apart while cooking.
2. Heat a heavy bottomed pan over medium high to high heat, sear the patties in olive oil for about 2-4 minutes per side or until golden brown. They do not need to be fully cooked through at this point as they will finish cooking in the sauce. Remove from pan and set aside.
3. Reduce heat to medium and add onions to pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until soft and then add mushrooms. Cook for 2-3 minutes and add garlic and shallots. Cook for 1-2 minutes or until garlic is fragrant and shallots are translucent. Season with salt & pepper.
4. Add tomato paste and mix well into softened onion and mushrooms. Once well incorporated, add bouillon paste, dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce and 1/2 cup of beef stock. Mix well and bring to a low boil. Simmer for 2-3 minutes. If not enough liquid in the pan, add more beef stock to bring the liquid up.
5. Add beef patties back into the pan and spoon oven with the sauce. Cook for 1-2 minutes uncovered and then reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
6. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh chopped parsley.
ENJOY!

Great and so easy to make and tastes really YUMMY
Thanks so much!
That is the best recepie I have ever seen good job Ange, I will try it, love the cast iron.
Thanks George! Hope you enjoy!
This looks delicious Angelo! Can’t wait to make this.

We enjoyed watching you cook this delicious dish ! Look forward to watching you again!
Hi Betty! Thanks you!
This looks so delicious.
Thanks so much! A current favorite dinner!
I love the way you cook. Everything with extra sauce. "The Wetter The Better" I always say!
Thanks so much! The sauce is the boss!
I loved this recipe. I always cook ground beef or ground turkey, so this is a great recipe. Thank You Chef
Thanks man!
I'm going to make this tomorrow!
Happy I found you! Thanks
Super good this time of the year as the weather gets all winter! Enjoy and thank you!
@@ChefAnge you're welcome and thanks again! I also struggle with veggies but see you have lots that sound delicious! The Brussel sprouts with bacon. So many to try!
Yessss Salisbury steak is a perfect fall, winter dish 😋
I made this recipe and loved it. The only thing I added was horseradish sauce because I love it. This will be my go-to recipe from now on. The steaks were firm because of the dry breadcrumbs, yet tender because of the grated onions, not mushy at all. Thank you for sharing.
I haven’t made it in a while. I think I need to make these for dinner next week!
That looks soooo Delicious
Thanks! We love this in the cold winter months!
gonna make this for my nieces and nephews tomorrow... thanks for the great recipe!
Hope they enjoy it!
This is tomorrows dinner, thanks Chef. And Garlic is life in my house!
Team garlic!
This looks delicious. Something I've never tried to make, but will very soon. Would be great over egg noodles, mashed potatoes or rice. Yummy
Yum! Anything to soak up that delicious sauce!
I love Salisbury steak!!
Sooo good!
@@ChefAnge I used your recipe and it was super. Thanks CA. :)
I had to find close replacements for some of the ingredients and my cast iron pan was too small (I had to use 2) but the result was super yummy. This recipe is a keeper. I will make this again (and buy a bigger pan :) )
That’s real deal cooking! Congrats on the bigger pan!
Wow it looks beyond 💋
Thanks so much! It was VERY good!
Looks really good. I'm going to try it tomorrow. Personally, I LOVE garlic.
Thanks! I love garlic too. Have Pork tenderloin recipe coming up soon that’s basically pork and 30 cloves of garlic! Lol!
You both missed the point...when Cauliflower tastes equivalent of Garlic, or Steak like Garlic, or everything you cook tastes like pure Garlic, you've basically ruined the dish and flavor of every ingredient. Gathering a bunch of ingredients and making them all taste like Garlic is not next level cooking, it's garlic dumping cooking. Garlic has its place, but not dumping it into/onto every meal. Backyard guys cooking!
@@ChefAnge LOL!
Ooooh looks wonderful!
I am cooking a curry at the moment and I can smell it!
Cast iron pans, aren't they heavy? Its always put me off but I guess there's no alternative?
They are heavy but I’m really enjoying cooking with them recently.
I loved it right up to the point where you started eating it like a dog.
Thanks!
Delicious! Worcestershire sauce is pronounced Woostersher (not shire as you tried to guess) and Salisbury is Sorlsburry. Hope this helps!
🙏Thanks for the info! cheers!
How does the lighting temperature change on different camera angles of the same action?
Didn’t know how to operate the cameras yet either!
@@ChefAnge Fair point, I shall forgo judgement.
@@ChefAnge not dissing then, but still seems odd, either way thanks for the helpful video.
I will have to look for the Cast Iron pan here, theyre out of stock on Amazon.
What knife do you use?
ZWILLING Professional S, Chef Knife, Kitchen Knife, German Knife, 8-Inch, Stainless Steel - amzn.to/36oVTtr
this is the main knife i use. I love it.
@@ChefAnge Having trouble finding it, on the US site it's New (2) from $147.95 and postage ontop, and on the UK site where I am it isn't there at all!
Which country are you in, Ange?
Greetings, I noticed in the video and in the crispy chicken thighs video you wear gloves, [ latex?] when you are handling both proteins? What kind of gloves are they?
Just regular nitrile gloves. I get them on Amazon
@@ChefAnge terrific! I have a bunch of those! P.S. I'm going to try the crispy chicken recipe very soon, I'll let you know how it turns out 😉🙂
Wow! New sub here! I recently made Steak Kabobs on my page too and *your dish looks amazing!* Hope to stay connected! 😀
Thanks Chef!
Worstishire lol a tongue twister, but my mother would prepare this dish back in the day. Thanks for this recipe and sounded like it was delicious 😆
Thanks so much!
How can I get the recipe
In the description
It's pronounced WERS te sher. Great video
I’ll try my best! Thanks!
No, it is pronounced whooster sauce. I know, because I am from the UK.
incorrect, eve, but I like your confidence
Well in the states we pronounce it WORS te sher sauce!
@@eviee422 no, we don't
Pronounced, woostersha sauce! LOL You'll get there!
Lol! Still seems so far away!
@@ChefAnge LOL!
I could not find the recipe.

8.06 I almost went.....lip smacking like a gummy dog chumping it's food!
Where did you almost go to?
Three syllables. Worse - ter -sheer
I think this helps a lot.
No, it's not
What’s not?
Dude the smacking when you eat lost my interest. It literally turned my stomache
Right!?! 🥸
Too much Garlic in everything....a good Chef knows how to flavor meals without making Garlic flavor the entire meal....otherwise just eat Garlic, why bother to cook anything.
I must be terrible then. I use 9k cloves of garlic a week.
@@ChefAnge I tried your baked Cauliflower dish last week....infused in Garlic just like today's recipe. You probably don't even notice it anymore...but several cloves of Garlic in the meat today and more in the the sauce...you can stop pretending you don't overuse Garlic.
@@ChefAnge Because garlic is life. :)
@@melelmo2600 he's a Chef....! Keep that in context!
If garlic be the food of health - I say - put more in.
thumbs down for the slurping - that was gross
Didn’t know much about audio then! Thank you!
Average C recipe. Better ones on the Internet check out Chef John’s or the pioneer woman. Both are much better than this one.
Thanks so much!
