This is exactly something I have planned to do long time. With my own twist, naturally. I Drew lot of these mini worlds in my teens ... 30 odd years ago.
You create such quality projects - I really hope some day I can create this kind of quality of work. I learn something new every time I watch one of your videos! - looking forward to the next one!
It would be so cool to have like a whole gallery of these spheres in a VR space! 🤩 This sort of thing would also make for superb content on a lightfield display, like a Looking Glass Portrait. The true 21st century snow globe! 😁
@Bernard na thsts annoyung because the comments will be also in slow motion and you can't understand a word. If you need to pause 100000x it is also veryy annoying. Thatd not hoe tutorials work. And it is not vlaimed as a tutorial also. The real tutorials are on his patreon as far as I know. Which is good.
I've always wanted to do this. One of my biggest shortcomings as a 3D artist is dealing with extraneous space. But, if you constrain that space artificially then you don't even have to worry about it. Awhile back I did a path that looped around a sphere with a bridge at the top but the issue was adding anything square (like a house) requires the geometry conform to the radius of the sphere. I can do that no problem, but in order for the "bent" house to feel like it was in the scene would have required stylized/painterly textures which I'm not good at.
Man you make stuff way different than I do. It’s refreshing. A lot of times I get in my head about how I’m suppose to got about making something when really there’s hundreds of ways of doing it.
I used to do this when I was a kid at 4 years old. I would make islands in the water and decorate them with houses, roads, rivers, bridges etc. I have to master blender asap.
Aww this looks great, you should definitely do more! I feel like there's potential for some fun stuff where the world is sliced too - like with the roots, but being able to see what's going on under the main scene (like a pipe with a critter poking their head out, or a whole other room)
I’m just sayin 😭I consider work at this level Godly. That’s all I can think of being new to blender. This video shows me I can take anything on my mind and literally make it in hd.Salute 💯
Thats what I thought at first also, but it really isnt that difficult if you do it few times. I had to make a car in blender for my school and that was my 3rd or 4th model and the ones before that were reaaally simple like a table, flower pot etc and I thought it would be impossible and the 1st one was really bad, but I made the 2nd one and it wasnt that bad so just believe in yourself, practice, if you make a mistake fix it immediately, search for it on the internet or they will just build up and your model will look not as good. Good luck!
Both the end product for this was super lovely and a broad overview of multiple techniques needed to achieve different effects was super useful. Even if you don't go into detail, providing like you did enough info to go and research more in depth is really good! Hope to see more of these!
I haven't done 3d modeling and animation since the days of 3DSMax with a math co-processor, so the efficiency of this process is blowing my f**king mind
I feel like there is something going on in the brain at a level similar to ASMR for me. I find is something aesthetically pleasing at a deep level when something is small and contained. When I was younger I used to make little biome jars with bugs in. This type of are really scratches an itch. Great work btw.
I had daydreams of doing this to some of my twisted up dreams, I just don't have the time to learn these tools. I have respect to those that do. I remember early Ray traced still images that took a month to render. Back then, I didn't have the patience to wait that long for one image, but I like what they did. I like that I got to see it evolve over the years. Thanks for your video.
Have a few of these "miniature world's" on Steam wallpaper engine, I just can't get enough of them either.....though I haven't gone this deep down the rabbit hole before. Whoever makes them for steam.....thank you 👍
I know nothing of this. I'll never do this. But man I love watching skilled people do their thing. This is great. I also have a unhealthy love for rural British homes
You should absolutely do a full youtube series on this scene, it has such an awesome bit of everything in there from modelling to texturing, rigging and animation it would be perfect for a series. Would love if you did it and explained some of this step by step, think it would help a lot of people make better art.
Love this. I want to create 5 acre vineyards, Large tree orchards, meadows with a single oak tree atop a hill with a tire swing and a pond, etc. This is a perfect way to display them.
This is JUST what i needed, i've been creating an entire city bit by bit over the course of this year when ive had free time and honestly, i have always been interested in this kind of thing, be it gaming or just general world creation, i never got into minecraft do to the visual limitiations, blender has now taken over my life lol
I bet it’s relatively easy to 3D print something like this and then cast it in a resin or glass sphere. This would look so cool in snow globe type production because it could potentially be much more detailed and realistic than most have been
This brings hope to my childhood dream of having little worlds in my pocket. The older I got the more I realized it is possible to create such worlds, but what is still missing is that the individuals living in these worlds behave on their own "will" so to say, so they can develop things, do things that are unexpected and can change the environment, cities and so on, and all you do is you look at them or maybe guide them. Thought about this as a mix of sims, anno and so on with a cool visualization and graphics like yours. So everyone can "build" a little world, give the world specific attributes and conditions and then the world develops on its own and you can look at it, but you cannot destroy it or harm them, you can only help them with little things. I guess this would require some highly developed AI software for the individuals to do random stuff on their own, but I think it will be possible in the near future
@@DECODEDVFX Thx but compared to your mini world it is a little bland. I dressed it up with a wall ....I think I am a little to impatient to put as much work in it as you. ;-) I have already subscribed and even set the notifications ...now I know why ....
This is exactly what i am very obsessed with for so long but since i dont know how to blender i can only dreamed 😥. I have so much miniature scenes in my head 😂
Lots of people seem to either forget about it, or they don't know it exists. I use it all the time to get cleaner cuts then I could make by hand with the knife.
Imagine creating a website with this Blender rendering that adapts to your current weather conditions. Also adding a manual switch/level so you can move it and see the weather is going to be later on according to the forecast.
this is for anyone having trouble with the knife project in object mode, select the object you want to cut. change to edit mode, then ctrl+select the cutting object in the Outliner and then you'll be able to knife project
This is the first time I saw your video and I just can't hit the skip button.. apart from the very high quality of 3d animation, you present the video very well done..
If you could somehow make a game that looks this good that is a simulator that would be pretty cool too. Great video ! Little self sustained eco systems and what not.
imagine stepping out your front door and being knee deep in a duck pond. you really need that set back more than 8 ft to stop it from flooding the foundations.
These are great, so many little techniques to glean from this as well. One thing i think would have looked cool on this specific render, is a small amount of volumetric fog sitting on the surface of the pond, just to give it that rainy gloomy morning feel. It would also be interesting to experiment with the tilt shift technique to further enhance the miniature feel, although i personally have no idea how thats done or if its suitable for this kind of shot. Very cool stuff though, I learned a lot and cant wait to see more!
Very cool, dude! I liked hearing your about your workflow and your thought process and techniques for what you're doing without it being so much of a "tutorial" style. That opening with the duck quacks and the camera moving back wards to see it as just a mini world was really good and the first thing I thought of was that it could make a really good film studio intro! They're usually either just a logo or some animation so this could totally pass as something like that!
If you liked this video do me a favour and hit the subscribe button. Cheers!
was adaptive subdivision always there? nvr seen it !
Awesome animation you made! Love it! Can I please feature that short animaltion in my upcoming video? I would fully credit you of course.
Yes, that's fine by me.
adaptive subdiv has existed for at least five years in blender.

this is such a good idea. i’d love to see this as well.

Why people dislike this kind of excellent tutorials, is above my head...
Basically this is not a tutorial, since it is so fast. It is just a quick explanation 😅

I'm a big fan of dioramas and miniatures, really inspiring to see your work.
19th century industrial miniature world would be pretty cool, with some factories and warehouses
I would love to see a miniature with a view of the underwater part of the lake - for example with fish and salamanders.
