Love the music by Wagner when testing the drone, the day before I watched this part Robbie was a guest at the Ashby canal on behalf of the BBC.
Fran, take a small log, even rotten, get yourself a drill the size of the fatball, (they are readily available) just drill the log stick the ball in and prop it up in the hedges. Job done. Get well, be well and keep well!

Still working on making it easier. Just didn't want to fill the hedge with metal and plastic which we invariably leave behind.

I always wondered how Robbie became such a canal expert, and now I know. He just follows the Constanze around picking up pointers from Fran and Rich, and learning as he goes. Hope he gives you guys some credit in his documentaries... 😏
I don't think there is much we can teach Robbie except how to pootle instead of cranking it!
You both illuminate the world around you, and make mine comfortable.
Fran have you ever tried growing tomatoes on your boat? if not and you would like to try it then here's a small tip for you. if you buy some tomatoes and slice one of them and put the slices in to pots (not the 2 end pieces)they will start to shoot and once you have 2 true leaves you can then replant and once they start growing you need to remove side shoots as that encourages the plant to grow taller and yield fruit higher up the plant rather than to low down, we grow tomatoes in this way and we grow them outside and in a green house so we get best of both worlds, growing tomatoes from a full sliced tomato 🍅 works, and seem to work better than buying tomato seeds
When you pass our boat "Timeless" on Furness Vale Marina on the Peak Forrest can you check it's still afloat. I think it's going to be sadly a few months before we can get to it with this virus. Our cruising plans are on hold. Take care you lovely people.

Another great episode, interesting the side lock that is no longer maintained. It looks (the channel) very narrow. That craft idea ' feeding the birds'.
These twin locks were very narrow. Where two of them were still open side by side, there was a notice for boats over 6 ft 10 to use the slightly wider one to avoid getting stuck!

Nice bit of flaring shame you missed base coming back still practise makes perfect, I must say though your drone footage is very good, see you both scrubbed up well. Enjoyed this video nice to see the wildlife coming out and the birds sound wonderful. The next time you go into a chandlers can you take us with you would luv to see inside one. The drone was on automatic landing just to see if it worked OK after the recent crash. Rich's control is much better these days.... If the drone listens. X

Always love how u share all the wee bits & bobs of ur travels, the crt yard & Fran w/ the plant info! It's fascinating & only CTC & Keith & Bernadette of the Tiller People do that. I'd love Fran to share more of the plants she sees & show them to the camera, especially what the area looks like where she finds them. Fleabane we will need here in NC this yr. I've always had a fascination with wild plants and their history. Maybe I'll show more. Interesting though, what I thought was fleabane is actually coltsfoot traditionally used to treat lung conditions. I've never seen it before and now it's everywhere, Just as we have an outbreak of corona virus??????

You may remember when i sympathised about your foot, i said that i had my leg around my neck? The first lock you show after Rich had his shower is where that happened, we were travelling in the oposite direction to you. You certainly brought back memories (that i can laugh about now). That was a couple of weeks ago. All bars and resaurants are closed now and the infection rate rising so I expect we will be on lockdown shortly.

Thanks for the view from up above. Being a drone person and liking that perspective, wish you did more of that, but you have to pick and choose what is posted. Just stay healthy during this Coronavirus outbreak as we in the middle of the USA will now have to shelter in place for at least 30-days except going out for only essential things. We can all get through this, even us old people.
I think we will be in lockdown after tomorrow too. So many people are ignoring the stay at home and keep your distance advive. Today we have seen videos of beeches, town centres and country parks crowded with selfish people.
@@FloatingOurBoat Unfortunately that is happening in the USA too. Midweek they showed kids on spring break at a beach in FL and one was interviewed saying he was there to party but if he got Coronavirus, so be it. Or similar words. The kid didn't think about others that might become infected because of his actions. And it was interesting to watch your video where you were going under a road and the cars and lorrys (or is that lorries) running on the roadway didn't seem any fewer than you might see any day before this outbreak, or just my impression across the pond.
The road footage was taken before the current restrictions were in place. It is much quieter now. Still lots of people walking the towpath near the towns though and they are only a few metres wide!!
I hope Red Bull lived up to your expectations. I've moored near there a couple of times and have eaten in the pub -which was fine. Keep well!

Hi, we can now only move if necessary. We are safely moored up with a water point not too far away and a small ship in the nearby village. Hopefully, we will be OK.

Question from Texas, what is the use of a raddish in cooking? Would have thought that a herb garden would be more space saving and better bang for the buck than veggies? They add so much to flavour ?
For the fatball feeder how about three or four willow wands (about 18in long each). Lay them in a bunch and tie top and bottom with string or wool. Push fat balls between the wands, so they are held in the “cage”, then hang the cage from a tree.
Wow! So simple and a brilliant idea. This will be take 2.
Inspired by you I made one this afternoon, using long straight twigs cut from my hedge at home. Four twigs work ok, but maybe five would be better - it depends on how big your balls are! 😁
If you have one longer twig you might be able to spiral it up around the cage once the fat balls are in place. That will help keep them in once the birds have pecked part of them away.
My local bluetits have already found the new snacks.

Love Butter Burr; it used to grew on a lane near where I grew up. A very distinct scent and I guess a very ancient plant with probably alsorts of healing properties.

With the fat balls drill a hole through the ball & just put on a branch outside the boat, but place the ball a decent length down the branch so is wont fall off.

Thank you. The yellow flower we saw actually ended up being Coltsfoot, latin name Tussilago farfare, which has actually been used in the past to treat coughs and lung complaints.

We use a GoPro 7 mainly for when we're walking and talking and a Canon M50 which is a great mirrorless camera.
I've tried so many editing software packages but have stuck with Filmora by Wondershare. Its cheap, at £35 per yr ish, but dead easy to use.

As far as we know. I f they stop us moving it would mean we would all sit near eater points together and not be as isolated as if we keep moving.
There is no such thing as "wasting time". That is a term created during the modern, stressful culture we have created. MOREtime should be spent doing nothing and/or hanging out with friends and family.

More biscuit research needed on your part I think. There is no custard filling in a bourbon. Chocolate covered custard cream would be like the chocolate custard we used to have with school dinners. X
@@FloatingOurBoat There's no custard in a custard creme, either. I had some biscuits recently that were similar, but chocolate biscuit with a chocolate orange creme filling. They weren't very nice. :o(
