I wouldn’t be at all disheartened by the fraction of 1 percent - “Tossers” is the epithet that immediately comes to mind - who give you a thumbs down. Who knows, maybe they are simply envious of the idyllic lifestyle you are living. They are certainly not alone there.
Yes tosser is a correct description i would say, keep on keeping Fran and Rich hope to see you on the cut sometime this year
I pushed the thumbs up, the two idiots who pushed the thumbs down! Don’t ever worry about the thumbs down, unless they outnumber the thumbs up. Years ago I delivered a project for a CEO and I had to work closely with two Directors, who were incredibly intelligent, one sales, the other HR and no matter what I did I couldn’t please both. Then I realised there’s no right answer, only everyones individual answer, a bit like there’s no good taste, only individual taste and that honesty is only one person’s view or opinion of honesty. I hope that makes sense! I know it’s hard but if you’re happy with your videos go with it, be true to yourself because in my opinion your videos are the best on RUclips and that includes Robbie, who you know I love (sorry Robbie ☹️). As far as I’m concerned move over Tim and Pru because Fran and Rich have arrived. As always, thanks for sharing. Your 8am shots and soundtrack were amazing. Happy New Year.
Hi Sylvia. Thank you again for your lovely comment. We really don't worry about the thumbs down. We find it quite funny sometimes. We once gotcha thumbs down within 2minutes of the video going live so they can't possibly have watched it. Most people seem happy and as many have said if it's not their cup of tea, they really don't have to watch. Anyway happy new year to you xx
I'm a sailboat guy but all I do is grin (except for the Manchester episode) when I watch you two - really helps get through the balmy lockdown evenings in Florida, and so interesting from a technical and lifestyle alternative - for which I thank you...

Ah the Anderton Boat Lift. When my Parents and I did a trip back in the late 90's we passed the boat lift, which had not yet been repaired and re-opened. I have never (yet) been on the boat lift.
We really want to go on it when we feel it is a good time to be on the river.
My husband has enjoyed watching all your vlogs over the last few weeks. He was devastated when he came to the end. Made his night to watch this. Looking forward to the next one. Happy new year.
Friday 27th December. The day we joined the narrowboat community. We finally picked up our 'new' boat and began the challenging 5 day journey from Wootton Wawen to Crick. Thanks for the videos guys, keep them coming.
Good on yah! All the best for 2020 from New Zealand. Our thoughts are currently for all the poor souls caught up in wild fires in Aussie. Our skies are full of smoke that's traveled 1200 miles! Looking forward to hours of contented watching of your Vlogs. Cheers guys.
It is so worrying about the Australian fired. We have family around Sydney so are watching all the news. When are we going to realise that we have to change our ways urgently?

Mmmmm Chilli 🌶 and sprouts. Bet that made for an interesting evening 😳😉😂. My partner keeps laughing at me because I keep whingeing that I have to take the tree down. I can see that just cruising the cut would be relaxing and
scenic, but your idea of taking it slow and exploring each area off the cut is
a great idea.
As far as we are concerned it is the only way to do it. What is the point of racing along the canal and not seeing what is on the other side of the towpath?
Marbury Park has a great open air swimming pool popular in summer with scenic mere for fishing and sailing - - another lovely relaxing video - I;m there with you! - thank you -

Aaaaah thank you for the memories. We used to moor at Uplands Marina (opposite Anderton Marina ) so regularly did the cruise to Manchester and back. We had to sell our beloved narrowboat in 2012 and we miss her more each day. Bridgewater is a fab canal as is T&M. Love watching your vlogs - as you can see I'm back watching at the moment

I will be delighted to see your walks and rambles as you moor up along the canals. I’d love to see the villages you might visit as well if you want to take me along (via video). I know 2020 threw everybody for a loop but I hope the original idea of walks and rambles will still work out. And the music accompaniment you selected for your walk through the nature preserve early in the video was just so perfect. I’m catching up on your videos as you see so I don’t know what plans might have ultimately changed. Anyway, thank you for sharing your adventures. Hi , yes we lived in poynton in Cheshire we bought our first home , but the scaling was awful and we were advised to get a salt exchanger to allow the tap water passed through our exchanger , very expensive , we had this exchanger for about nine years and of course we went to northwhice for our salt buying from the mine shop , ,then the area was so hard water they changed the supply to Crewe and we no longer needed our exchanger thank goodness ! Stay safe guys xx

Love the sprout pasta recipe. Must try that. I’ll have to wait until the end of the year though until our allotment brussel sprout plants give us a harvest. I’m working though your vlogs from the start, so I’m hoping that by the time I get to your latest vlogs Fran might feature some summer recipes with courgettes and various types of fresh beans. We are inundated!

Seeing as you're coming up the Shroppy towards Chester. If you moor up by the Shady Oak pub, you are right by Beeston Castle. It is well worth a hike to the top of it, for the views of the Cheshire Plains! From the top you can see Peckforton Castle (a Victorian Folly) poking out of the trees on the other hill. It is now a hotel, but it was used as one of the Castles for Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. My wife and I got married there 22yrs ago, before it was a hotel, and mainly derelict! Love your vlogs, and look forward to many more this year - thankyou!

Will certainly look forward to it! I live on the top of the Wirral, and fished all along the Shroppy for over 30yrs, so it's like my backyard! If by any chance you go through to Ellesmere port - be careful where you moor up. Suggest getting well away from Chester and past the A41. You will have background noise from the 2 M/ways, no place is 100% safe, just trying to help you out! On the upside try The Bunbury Arms pub (Little Stanley) food is good, and some really nice Real Ales - 5min walk from the towpath 👍

That sounds yummy ... in Texas we eat Brussel Sprouts year round ... shred them like cabbage and they make a wonderful salad ... I even pickle and ferment them!

Floating Our Boat I do lots of micro greens and sprouting broccoli, alfalfa, salad mix seeds in sprouting jars and at first I thought these were the sprouts mentioned in the title - I add them to other salad greens, sandwiches, soups, etc especially during the winter to get in more greens for my diet - several different types can be mixed and a salad of just sprouts is yummy with some nuts and a bit of shredded cheese. I know you love to garden so sprouting various types of greens is a way to garden indoors.
@@sharylfuller9277 we have thought about this but not got around to trying it. What do you use to sprout them in, and do you buy special seed for sprouting or just ordinary seeds for sowing? I would love to have a go.
Floating Our Boat I use a mason jar with a sprouting lid and yes I order seeds for sprouting from Amazon ... I would love to send you one of my sprouting kits I sell - everything you need ... jar, lid, seeds and instructions - send me a private message on FaceBook with an address and I will get you a kit

We absolutely love winter cruising especially on those bright sunny days. The views are so much better when the trees are naked and the canals so quiet. Then when it is cold to disappear down into the warm boat by the stove... Perfect.

They said Oliver (film/movie 1968 ) , ! Agree a British classic and Christmas must watch ! totally non PC, totally manufactured but had Oliver Reed ! Totally agree, love your canal content but you get off the boat, explore and tell stories !This is different and attractive. Add what you eat off the boat , any found eateries !
Thank you. We are taking it a little bit easy in January but we will recommend any great meals out that we find. Just love Oliver, but they definitely wouldnt get away with it now .

I like the industrial history and the architecture of many of the small towns and villages in the U.K.. So any time you want to show us your excursions to museums or even just trips to the local farmers markets or pubs I think it would be nice. You guys are great, Happy New Year!
